Your instrument cluster (dashboard display) isn't working, so you can't see your fuel level or any warning lights. This makes it difficult to know when you need to refuel and prevents you from seeing important vehicle alerts. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the cluster circuit board or replacing the instrument cluster assembly.

Component or System: Driver’s sun visor assembly (hinge/mounting bracket near top left of windshield). Description of the Problem: While driving, the driver’s sun visor became loose at the hinge where it connects to the plastic mounting near the top left corner of the windshield. The visor then detached completely and was left hanging by the electrical cord, obstructing my forward view and creating an immediate safety hazard. Safety Risk: The detached visor blocked my line of sight while driving and could easily cause a collision if it occurs at highway speeds or in traffic. Additionally, with the bracket broken, the visor can no longer be used to block sunlight, increasing the risk of glare and impaired visibility during sunrise or sunset. Inspection and Confirmation: The issue was verified by a Jeep dealership; however, they stated that there was no permanent repair available other than visor replacement. This occurred several years ago while the jeep was still under warranty. Availability for Inspection: The defective visor is available for inspection upon request. Reproduction of the Problem: Based on multiple online reports and discussions found on Google and Reddit, this appears to be a common occurrence among Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles, specifically involving the driver’s sun visor detaching or becoming loose at the hinge. There are multiple videos/pictures of people complaining and asking how to fix the loose/broken clips for visors. Something more reliable that the OEM as it keeps malfunctioning. Warning Lamps or Messages: No warning lamps or messages were displayed prior to the failure. The visor detached suddenly without any indication.
On Saturday morning, when we started the Jeep, the whole entire dash was black Nothing works on it. You can’t tell how fast you’re going how much gas you have or if there are any lights on It is the same issue as recall 24V – 652
I am writing to get a good will repair for my of a 2020 Jeep Wrangler, VIN: [XXX] with approximately 50,000 miles. The estimate for the Jeep/Stellantis repair states after the inspection that my vehicle’s instrument panel cluster (IPC) has a serious internal defect that creates a safety hazard. Wrangler’s instrument panel has gone completely dark, leaving me without access to critical safety information such as speed, warning indicators, and fuel levels. The inspection and dealer diagnosis states that , this failure is due to an internal defect in the IPC, which is identical to the condition described in NHTSA Recall No. 24V-652. Although my VIN is not currently listed under Recall 24V-652, the symptoms and internal defect in my vehicle are the same failure mode as the recalls. Driving without a functioning instrument cluster is unsafe, placing myself and others at risk, and constitutes what is known safety defect with jeep wranglers. Repair or replace the defective instrument panel cluster in my vehicle at no cost, as a goodwill repair or as part of the existing recall. I am asking to be Reimburse me any costs already incurred and related to this defect. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I own a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and believe my vehicle should be included in recall W35/NHTSA 20V-191 for the VP4 Radio Software, as my backup camera does not turn off when shifting into drive. I must restart my Jeep to resolve the issue. My dealership wants $230 for diagnostics despite knowing the problem, and customer service said they can't help, even though they've opened case #94053204. Why are only some VINs covered? This is a safety concern, and I should not have to pay for diagnosis or repairs.
Car it is leaking oil .
Sun visor loose and falling out while driving, obstructing driver's vision, causing safety concern
Jeep, and they confirmed that my vehicle is unsafe to drive. Jeep’s only offered solution is a rental car, but they are requiring me to pay for it upfront and then seek reimbursement. I cannot afford to pay for a rental upfront, and Jeep has refused to cover the cost directly. This means I am being forced to drive a vehicle that Jeep has deemed unsafe because they will not provide a viable solution. I have called multiple times, and Jeep has continued to delay escalation while admitting my vehicle is a safety risk. I am filing this complaint because Jeep is failing to provide a timely or reasonable solution for a critical safety recall, leaving customers at risk. I need immediate assistance to hold Jeep accountable for failing to ensure my safety.
Involuntary acceleration. I was coming to a stop at a major intersection, I was almost completely stopped when my Jeep began to rapidly accelerate. I pushed on the brakes as hard as I could but was unable to stop and ended up in a field on the opposite side of the road
In the document (ZD8), although my VIN does not appear, I have unfortunately encountered the SAME EXACT problem. My Jeep first exhibited this issue back in 2022, and I managed to repair it at that time without being aware of the existing recall. As it stands, my vehicle is now at the dealership again, plagued by the SAME recurring issue. In trying to resolve this, I have tirelessly reached out to every dealership within a 75-mile radius of Katy. However, none of them have the requisite part(s) available in their inventory. To worsen the situation, I have been informed that I would be placed on an exceptionally lengthy waiting list. I strongly urge you to conduct a thorough reevaluation since it's apparent that this issue extends beyond the limited number of VINs currently covered in the document. At one distressing moment, this defect triggered a heart-stopping warning while I was driving on the highway: “Find a safe place to pull over; your vehicle is about to turn off.” Furthermore, this is the second occasion on which I have been compelled to address and replace the same issue. This situation is increasingly untenable, and it's vital that comprehensive action is taken to address this widespread problem rather than limiting focus to just the few VINs listed in file (ZD8).
The sun visors break off and fall down, obscuring view of the road ahead. This happened on both sides after two years of ownership, was replaced under warranty, then broke apart two years later out of warranty. The dealership demands hundreds of dollars to fix PER visor. For the exorbitant price for a part that shouldn’t even wear out like that (or that quickly), the only alternative is to buy third party brackets to secure the visors instead. These brackets are not made or offered in any way by Jeep or Mopar. Broken visors on 2018-2024 models are a well-known and very common problem according to Jeep’s own service technicians and hundreds of other Jeep owners online. Jeep/Stellantis should be forced to issue a recall on the visors / install for free the necessary securing brackets and offer full refunds to any customers who already paid out of pocket to get their visors replaced at the dealership. The part/design itself is faulty and having them replaced without the addition of extra securing brackets only guarantees that they will break again in the future. Having the sun visor suddenly fall / hit you / dangle in front of your face while driving is an absolute safety hazard and it’s shocking that nothing has been proactively done by Jeep to address this concern.
My jeep tends to shake really bad when I get up to a speed of 70 mph and it’s scary. I think it’s called the death wobble and I believe I missed when there was a recall on it but no one really informed me much about it. I was hoping to please receive help. I have to drive it to get back and forth places for me and my son
The sun visors on my Jeep wrangler are broken. I have reviewed several forums and believe this is systemic issue among Jeep Wranglers. Although not a major safety concern, I believe it could create a dangerous situation on the road. Apparently, these sun visors are not covered by warranty either. Because this is such a systemic issue, I believe that Jeep should issue a recall and fix all of these sun visors.
Visors are not able to be used due to breaking—this happened within 2 years of purchasing the vehicle and there are forums of over 22 pages dedicated to this issue. I was driving, and the visit just fell from the roof, plastic piece holding it broke, it just dangles from a wire. Cannot see while driving into sun and I am unable to use my visors as a result. Extremely dangerous
The defrost vent for the windshield spans the length of the whole windshield but only comes out of the center of the vents, the sides in front of the driver and passenger do not blow air and creates a visibility problem since snow will accumulate where the heat doesn’t blow. Very common issue as I can see from extensive research
Back up camera not working. When I out car in reverse screen does not turn into camera as it used to.
I was not informed of this recall when I purchased my Jeep at the dealership. Per recall, clutch pressure plate recall. The risk is high. Is extreme risk. It may catch fire. It may cause crash. I don’t feel safe driving my vehicle. I’ve been to dealership twice and they told me there’s no solution yet. I outreached Jeep via email directly.
Sun visor fell down into view causing distraction while driving.
Rear CAmera, the screnn turn blue on i can see nothing in the back.
Safety Risk Heated debris expelled from the transmission bellhousing may come in contact with an ignition source in the vehicle or surrounding area, potentially leading to a fire. A fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NO INFORMATION WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE.
Both drivers and passenger side sun visors have fallen off at the hinge with minimal use. Vehicle is under 60k miles and bought new.
I HAD THE REAR DEFROST REPAIRED AT THE JEEP DEALER UNDER THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. THE FIRST TIME I USED THE REAR DEFROST IN COLD WEATHER AFTER THE REPAIR THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. EXTREMELY LOUD EXPLOSION AND GLASS WAS EVERWHERE IN THE REAR SEAT AND BEHIND THE REAR SEATS. NOBODY WAS IN THE BACK SEAT THERFORE NO INJURIES.
RECEIVED FCA NOTICE FOR EMISSIONS RECALL Y68 ON MY JEEP WRANGLER. WHY DOES THIS NOT SHOW UP ON YOUR WEBSITE?? CODE IS LW142704 FOR PCM SOFTWARE UPDATE - Y68
While driving at highway speed into sun glare, the driver’s side sunvisor spontaneously detached from the support arm, fell down , and obstructed my view causing me to take emergency action to regain full traffic / road vision. I safely pulled to side of the road. No collisions or injury occurred but this could have easily resulted in a crash. Further inspection showed the plastic snapped allowing the visor arm to detach from its mount on the windshield frame causing it to fall into field of view. Unquestionably a safety concern and a design flaw.
I was driving down the interstate and the sun visor fell and obstructed my view. I had to manipulate it back to the clip to get it to stay out of my way, all while driving at high speeds and in traffic. Doing an online search I see where the visor is defective in many of these vehicles. Luckily I wasn't involved in an accident, but the potential was there as the visor broke and dangled in my view of the road at Interstate speeds. I found this image and mine looks the same. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/attachments/20190914_175938-jpg.228307/
On 7-13-21 rear defroster for the jeep wrangler sport hardtop rear windshield was repaired at Larry H. Miller chrysler/jeep/dodge at 8528 Lomas blvd ne, Albuquerque NM 87110. On 10-1-21, I used the rear defroster for the first time since repaired. 5 minutes into my commute to work, rear windshield shattered while driving. Luckily it did not cause an accident. I could smell something burning and remaining glass was hot to the touch. There were no pedestrians or vehicles nearby. There were no signs of any external projectile causing the shattered glass. Took to dealership where they refused to cover under warranty and would not admit that the defroster was responsible. In fact, they say it is impossible the defroster could cause that. Checking online, it appears that it is not only possible, but pretty common. I believe fiat/chrysler is intentionally trying to cover up this problem. Luckily there was no accident and no one was hurt in this instance.
The sun visor broke and fell down blocking my visibility which almost resulted in an accident. The part has been on order through my local dealer, Milosch Jeep, for over a month. This is my second jeep that this has happened to.
Vehicle was taken to a local repair shop after hearing an occasional clicking sound on the front passenger side. After inspection the mechanic determined the weld connecting the control arm to the chassis had failed. If the pieces had completely separated at a high enough speed, serious injury could have resulted.
driver side sun visor, moving from the frontal position to the side position fell out and jammed between the brake and the gas petal. Falling out caused me to swerve and i was unable to apply the brake.
When in the automatic shut off mode, the car will lurch forward forcefully when trying to park. The vehicle will jump the cement parking barriers and can cause the vehicle to hit what is beyond the barrier, such as the wall of the building beyond the barrier.
BACK UP WARNING SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING. WHEN THE CAR IS PUT INTO REVERSE, A CONSTANT LOUD TONE STARTS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT MASKS ALERTS WHEN THERE IS SOMEONE OR SOMETHING ACTUALLY BEHIND THE CAR. DEALER SAYS THIS IS NORMAL. HOWEVER, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN UNTIL DEALER INSTALLED AFTER MARKET WHEELS AND TIRES.
ON 4 OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE DEMONSTRATED SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. ALL EVENTS OCCURRED WHILE COMING TO A GRADUAL STOP APPLYING THE BRAKES NORMALLY. EACH TIME, THE VEHICLE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED HIGH AND SHOT FORWARD [INTO AN INTERSECTION ONCE THROUGH A STOP SIGN!]. ON ALL OCCASIONS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDDLE WAS NOT DEPRESSED AND THE FLOOR MAT WAS NOT INTERFERING. ONLY BY SPLIT-SECOND RESPONSE ON MY PART WAS I ABLE TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. IT HAPPENED OVER SEVERAL DAYS--NOT JUST A SINGLE PERIOD OR SESSION.
I HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES, 4 SOFT TOP REPLACEMENT AND OR REPAIRS ALSO OTHER VISITS... ALSO 1 SOFT TOP REPLACEMENT. WATER LEAKS, TOP LITERALLY COMING OFF/ OUT OF FRAME AT SPEEDS OVER 30 MPH. 2 OF THE TOPS HAD FRICTION BURN/ TEARS AND THE 3RD IS DOING THE SAME THING BUT WORSE. CARPETS ARE SATURATED WITH WATER DAYS AFTER RAINING. THE JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP OR IN MY DRIVEWAY UNABLE TO USE WHEN IT RAINS, OVER SPEEDS OF 30 MPH. CURRENTLY THE TOP HAS A BIG OPENING THAT CANE LOSE ABOVE THE DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD AND AIR AND OR RAIN MISTS INTO MY FACE. I HAVE ASKED TO HAVE IT REPLACED WITH A HARD TOP OR A VINYL SOFT TOP MULTIPLE TIMES TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP, EVEN THO I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH THE 'BLACK AND TAN' PACKAGE WHICH CONSISTS OF TAN CANVAS SOFT TOP AND TAN INTERIOR, BLACK EXTERIOR. THEY STATED 'THEY (THE DEALER) CAN NOT DO THAT BECAUSE OF THE VIN #' BUT THEN STATED I COULD BUY ONE FROM THEM. AS OF TODAY MY 2020 JEEP WITH APPROXIMATELY 4,800 SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY OUT OF SERVICE. I PURCHASED/LEASED A NEW VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAVE CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE, MULTIPLE DR. APPOINTMENTS, A NEW BORN BABY AND 2 OTHER CHILDREN, I NEED A RELIABLE VEHICLE. THE JEEP IS UNSAFE FOR MYSELF AND DRIVERS BEHIND ME, FEARING THE TOP MAY COMPLETELY COME OFF WHILE DRIVING AND OR METAL FRAME.
THE REAR WINDOW ABOVE THE SWING GATE BLEW OUT ON THE HIGHWAY. JUST SUDDENLY EXPLODED OUTWARD WITH NO WARNING. TRAVELING 70MPH ON HIGHWAY IN GOOD WEATHER 80 F SUNNY DAY
WINDSHIELD MAJOR DAMAGE FROM A SMALL INSIGNIFICANT IMPACT. *TR
