VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Fix: Dealers will update the HCP software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 29, 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 04B.

Your windshield washer system is spraying fluid onto the front camera instead of onto the windshield, and it's not spraying the rear window either. This means you can't clean your windshield while driving, which affects visibility and safety. The repair will likely involve inspecting and correcting the washer nozzle positioning and checking the washer fluid hose routing.

Vehicle has no heat or defroster when PHEV battery is depleted or low on power. There is a recall for fire risk with instructions to not charge the battery pack but there is no heat if I don’t. This makes vehicle unsafe to use
On commute to work today cabin heat (on high) was blowing cold air. Start of drive heating within cabin/windshield was possible. After 10 mins of driving heat, vents began to blow cold air. Temperature this morning was under 20 F with slight mist of rain, because of the conditions the windshield began to ice over. With no ability to defrost the windshield. This is the same defect as FCA Recall# 04B/NHTSA 24v-111, which could result in the loss of being able to defrost. In summary cabin heat and defrost inconsistent and during cold/wet weather could result in not being able to see through windshield.
While defrosting my windshield, only the passenger side was defrosting. Both sides were set to the same temperature. I spoke to a manager at a Jeep dealer and he said his wife has the same vehicle and it also does this.
While driving on highway nothing overhead about 65 mph the front half of panoramic sunroof exploded spontaneously. Temperature outside was 60 degrees. Nothing hit the glass.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and while the defogger was in use, the center of the front windshield cracked from the middle to the top of the windshield without an impact. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the crack on the windshield became larger. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer; however, the mechanic informed the contact that the manufacturer would not cover the front windshield replacement due to determining the crack was caused by an impact. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 5,800.
