Owner Complaints (52)
Your 2022 Hyundai Tucson experienced engine hesitation and shaking while parked, with the check engine light coming on—the dealer found a failed fuel injector and replaced it. However, after the repair, your vehicle lost power while driving at around 69,000 miles, and the dealer diagnosed failed cylinders that needed replacement. The repair was not completed, and Hyundai was notified of the issue. Fixing this will likely require replacing the fuel injectors and inspecting or replacing the engine cylinders.

Your engine oil is being contaminated with gasoline, which has happened multiple times despite service visits. You're experiencing a check engine light, severe hesitation, jerking motions, a distinct gasoline smell in the oil, burning smells, and higher-than-normal engine temperatures—making the car difficult and potentially unsafe to drive. The dealership has dismissed your concerns on multiple occasions. This issue typically requires diagnosis of why fuel is entering the oil system, which may involve inspecting fuel injectors, piston rings, or the fuel delivery system.

Your engine is misfiring and the check engine light came on while driving. The dealer diagnosed cylinder failures that would require cylinder replacement. This issue occurred at 55,000 miles and may leave your vehicle undrivable until the cylinders are replaced.

Your EGR valve has failed twice. Hyundai covered the first failure under warranty, but is refusing to cover the second failure at 73,000 miles, even though you believe it should be covered under the federal emissions warranty that extends to 80,000 miles. Fixing this will require replacing the EGR valve, which is an emissions control component.

While operating the vehicle, the engine shut down. Complete loss of power. Engine would restart, stall and then not restart. Vehicle immobile. Vehicle towed to dealership since could not be driven. Strong smell of gasoline.
2022 Tucson (NX4, Alabama built) 2.5L Engine experienced a catastrophic failure leading to Hyundai dealer diagnosis that "Cylinder #3 is not contributing properly," which requires a full engine replacement. The vehicle is currently located at home and is available for inspection upon request. The engine scuffing has resulted in a severe loss of power contribution from Cylinder #3, leading to potential for sudden engine stall or complete loss of motive power while driving. If the engine seizes or stalls at highway speeds or during a critical maneuver (e.g., merging onto a freeway or turning across traffic), it creates an unreasonable risk of a rear-end collision or a catastrophic accident, endangering both the driver and others on the road. Furthermore, the internal mechanical failure creates a significant FIRE RISK due to potential oil leakage onto hot exhaust components. The problem has been confirmed by Hyundai Service Center in El Paso, Texas and three independent service centers in Arizona and Texas. All four assessments concluded that the vehicle requires a full engine replacement due to severe internal damage. Inspected by Hyundai Service Center in El Paso, TX. Despite confirming failure, Hyundai refuses to provide critical diagnostic data (Power Balance Test, Endoscopic Inspection, DTCs) and the determined root cause. This refusal hinders warranty transparency. The Check Engine Light (CEL) did not illuminate. Symptoms appeared late September 2025 at approximately 88,000 miles (audible engine noise/scuffing, rough idle, significant power loss). This failure at non-typical mileage demonstrates a severe internal defect and a safety system malfunction (failure of the ECU/CEL to adequately warn the driver). Note: Dashcam video documentation of the engine failure symptoms (audible noise and power loss) is available and can be presented to investigators upon request.
I am submitting this complaint regarding an ongoing and dangerous issue with my 2022 Hyundai Tucson involving repeated fuel injector failures that have caused the vehicle to stall and lose power while driving, without any prior warning indicators. The first incident occurred in October 2023, at approximately 16,000 miles, when the car suddenly died while I was driving. There were no warning lights or signs of a problem before the stall occurred. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership, where they replaced two fuel injectors. Just two weeks later, the same issue happened again—the car died while driving and was towed back to the dealership. The remaining injectors were then replaced. Unfortunately, this problem has continued. In November 2024, at around 26,000 miles, the vehicle again stalled while driving, with no warning, due to another fuel injector failure ( more failed injectors). Most recently, on October 18, 2025, with 31,000 miles on the odometer, my Tucson lost power and died while I was merging onto an interstate—once again with no warning or alert of any kind. I am still waiting for confirmation of how many injectors have failed this time. This is an extremely serious safety hazard. Losing engine power unexpectedly, especially while merging into highway traffic, puts both the driver and others on the road at significant risk of a collision or serious injury. Despite multiple occurrences, Hyundai has not identified the root cause of the injector failures and continues only to replace the faulty parts, which clearly does not resolve the underlying issue. It is unacceptable that a relatively new vehicle would experience repeated fuel system failures of this nature, and it is clear that there is a systemic defect affecting safety and reliability. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue to determine whether other Hyundai Tucson owners are experiencing similar failures and whether a recall or safety action is warranted.
On August 14, 2025, at approximately 12:40 AM, my 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited suddenly stalled while driving and became completely non-functional. The vehicle had about 25,000 miles at the time. This left me stranded on the highway in the middle of the night, creating a serious safety risk for myself and other motorists. The vehicle was towed to a Hyundai dealership. The dealer claimed the issue was caused by “carbon buildup” and stated that the problem would only be considered “repaired” if I paid for a fuel injection cleaning and fuel induction decarb service (about $500). These services are not listed in the Hyundai factory maintenance schedule, and no diagnostic evidence (photos, test results, or measurements) was provided to support the claim. Because the stall made the vehicle inoperable, I believe this should have been handled under warranty. Instead, I was pressured to pay for optional services in order to have the safety issue resolved. Safety Risk: The vehicle stalled without warning at highway speed, placing myself and others at risk of collision. Based on the dealerhip this needed to be serviced every 20k miles and hyundai deosnot recommend to consumers for some reason..
I have had 3 fuel injectors go out on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson. When this happened it was completely random and my car would stall and I would be stuck on the side of the road. I have had to miss work due to this happening. They told me that they are only able to replace the broken one each time instead of replace the all 4 while covered under warranty. They also told me that fuel injectors breaking is a common problem in 2022 and newer Tucson's as they are higher pressure systems than previous models. Im worried that this is going to keep happening and I'm going to keep breaking down due to fuel injectors breaking and end up stranded somewhere.
Hyundai has a known issue with GDI fuel injectors. Car begins to shake and lose power and eventually will stall due to cylinder misfire caused by defective injectors.
My high pressure fuel injectors and spark plug had to be replaced at 72,000 miles. My check engine light came on and the car started vibrating and was not accelerating properly. I spoke to three Hyundai dealership service centers and each of them acknowledged that it was a known issue with 2022 Hyundai Tucsons.
FUEL INJECTORS FAILURE..... SECOND ONE IN A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. BROKE DOWN ON MAJOR HIGHWAY.. TOWED TO HUNDAI IN CAPE GIRARDAU AS IT IS UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THIS IS NOT PART OF THE POWER TRAIN EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN THE ENGINE. KNOWN ISSUE,, LAST TIME THE MECHANIC TOLD US IT WAS PART OF POWER TRAIN. THERE HAVE BEEN SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS ISSUE.
Vehicle has just over 20,000 miles, and all four high-pressure fuel injectors have been diagnosed as “bad”. This is a very common issue reported on the Internet for 2022 Hyundai Tucson vehicles. Vehicle misfires and loses power with check engine light.
Cylinder 2 misfires, engine code P0302. Yes, it is available. Engine loses power during acceleration. Yes, Hyundai of Anderson (South Carolina) No warning or symptoms. Driving great then the engine starting misfiring going down the interstate.
I purchased a 2022 Hyundai Tucson brand new, expecting it to be a reliable and safe vehicle for many years. Unfortunately, the fuel injectors failed and had to be replaced far too early in the car’s life. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel injection system failed. The injectors had to be replaced, and the problem persists even after the repair. I believe the issue may still be present and can be made available for inspection if needed. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle continues to run poorly and unpredictably, which puts me and my family at risk—especially while driving at higher speeds or in heavy traffic. I’m concerned about stalling, power loss, or a potential engine fire due to leaking fuel. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the issue was diagnosed and confirmed by the dealership, and the fuel injectors were replaced. Despite this, the engine still doesn’t perform correctly. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle was inspected by the dealership during service, but not by police, the manufacturer directly, or insurance representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, there were signs of rough idling, engine hesitation, and overall poor performance before the failure. These symptoms started appearing within the first year of ownership. I have since learned that many other owners of 2022 Hyundai Tucsons are experiencing the same issue. I believe this is a widespread defect that poses a safety concern and needs urgent investigation. The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and was pulled over to the side of the road and stalled. The vehicle was restarted 20 minutes later with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer twice however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that on the second visit to the dealer, the dealer was able to provide an undisclosed update for the engine. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,089.
While on a trip my wife started out leaving the hotel as normal. After a minute of so, we lost the ability to accelerate as if the Tuscon was not responding to the gas pedal. We were lucky we were in town so we pulled into a gas station and turned off the truck. I thought it might be bad gas so we filled the tank with hi-test and turned off several features that are related to speed control (like tracking the speed limit etc.) I have noticed at the same time we lost the ISG system (Idle stop and Go). The indication in the owner's manual points to a battery function that detects the battery is fully charged. I used a voltmeter and the battery reads 12.5v and is charging at 14v. See today's recall for Hyundai vehicles, I think the problem involves a lot more vehicles. If you check the Hyundai forum, there are a lot of complaints on Tucson as well. I hope you take this into consideration when looking into this intergrated charging control issue.
The vehicle experienced a malfunction in the ignition or fuel delivery system, specifically a misfire detected in cylinder 2 (DTC P030200). This component has been documented by the manufacturer’s vehicle service center as an issue and may be available for inspection upon request. The misfire caused reduced engine power and hesitation during acceleration, posing a safety risk, particularly while merging onto highways or attempting to pass other vehicles. The issue has been reviewed and addressed by the manufacturer dealer service center twice (presently going in for a third time); however, the problem returned each time after a few weeks, with less than approximately 5,000 additional miles driven. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other parties. The "Check Engine" warning lamp illuminated when the failure occurred, accompanied by symptoms of rough idling and reduced performance.
I had 2 fuel injectors fail on my car within a 3 week period. The car is only 2.5 yrs old and has 48,500mi on it Both instances where when I was on a highway. I had the 1st fuel injector fail on [XXX] and then the 2nd one failed about 3 weeks later on [XXX]. When the 2nd fuel injector failed, I was barely able to drive the car to a safe place to get it towed. I spoke with a Hyundai Corp case worker and I asked why they didn't just replace the remaining 2 fuel injectors. Her response was that they don't replace them when they fail. I now have a 2 year old car that I am afraid to drive because I never know where or when It will leave me stranded. Vehicle suddenly unable to accelerate. Engine shuddered & produced a burning smell until we could safely pull over. Towed to dealership where diagnostics showed faulty fuel injector & they replaced 1 GDI fuel injector per TSB 23-FL-002H-1.
2022 Hyundai Tucson with repeated check engine light and vehicle losing power. Vehicle losing power and inability to exceed speeds of 15 mph with vehicle shaking, knocking, and pedals shaking. No warning that this was going to occur until vehicle becomes unsafe to drive. This has happened twice and one of which was on a high way which created an incredibly unsafe situation. First time diagnostic code was P0303 which was a cylinder 3 misfire and second time - less than 4 months later- diagnostic code was a P0302 cylinder 2 misfire. Hyundai only repairs one injector at a time; refusing to do all 4 despite being a heavily documented issue on this make/model. This would be able to be confirmed by request. This was also confirmed both times by two separate independent service centers. Vehicle has about 25,000 miles on it and has had 3 check engine lights over the past 3 years of owning- it was bought new. The first time was 2 days of owning and it was a bad IAT that resulted in engine stalling once again. All 3 times the car was unable to be driven and created substantial safety concerns with inability to drive.
On 5/27/24, my check engine light came on and the vehicle stayed to shimmy and shake each time I would press on the gas. Had the vehicle towed to the dealer for the #4 fuel injector assembly to be replaced. The same thing happened on 7/16/24 while traveling out of state. I was traveling on a highway and had to keep my emergency flashers on as I tried to coax the car to the next exit. Couldn't go above 25-30 mph. Had vehicle towed to a dealer for the #2 fuel injector assembly to be replaced. Now I am again without a vehicle because on 7/26/24, the same thing happened and I was told it is the #1 fuel injector. I was told by 2 different dealers that this is a known Hyundai Tucson issue but they are only allowed to replace what is coming up with an error code. They are not permitted to change all of the assemblies at one time, even though it would save them and Hyundai Corporate quite a bit of money in the long term. They've now paid to tow my car 3 times, paid workers 3 times the amount of money to replace what could've and should've been done the first time. The dealer was going to try to get the #3 assembly replaced now but there is no guarantee. I'm afraid that I'll have to be back there in another week or two for the last one. This is a serious issue that is not being addressed.
14202 miles on this car with regular oil changes by dealership. Engine is KNOCKING and needs a whole new engine. No warning, no lights, no codes. Is not able to be driven. Had my whole family in the car
I was merging on the highway when the car bucked and the check engine light came on. I couldn’t drive over 20 mph without the car shaking. I pulled over and had the car towed. The issue was a faulty fuel injector. It was replaced under warranty. I am worried reading online about this problem happening again. My family has owned 4 Hyundais and I’m starting to loose faith in their reliability. This really needs to be recalled.
Fuel injector went out in the middle of highway and vehicle had to be towed after vehicle starting shaking and couldn't drive above 25 miles per hour. This is a known issue by Hyundai in 2022 Hyundai Tucson.
Fuel injector failure on 02/2024. Fuel injector failure on 06/2024. Both times car lost power and started shaking. Hyundai service center will only replace one at a time. Car only has 28k miles.
Fuel injector failure on 02/2024. Fuel injector failure on 06/2024. Both times car lost power and started shaking. Hyundai service center will only replace one at a time. Car only has 28k miles.
I was driving on the highway when the engine would not accelerate. I was stuck in a high speed lane and drivers were on my rear bumper. I could not move over and felt helpless. I pulled off at the next exit and the vehicle was sputtering. I made it home at reduced speed. The vehicle would not start the next morning. I had it towed to the nearest dealership. I was contacted days later and informed that the is a bulletin about power loss due to faulty fuel injectors. Many complaint sites are full of the same problems. I now feel unsafe driving the vehicle on trips. I don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere. I am a female senior citizen.
NHTSA Complaint On Sunday, March 10th 2024 our 2022 Hyundai Tucson with 2.5L engine started missing in one of the cylinders. It did not disable the vehicle and it ran like that for several blocks until we could pullover to safety. At this time there were no warning lights of any kind. It wasn’t until I turned the car off, checked the oil (which was good), started the car again and did a lap around the parking lot that the check engine light came on. So there were no warnings. We dropped the car off at our local Hyundai service center that night so it could be checked first thing the next day. It turned out that it was a bad spark plug and injector. At that point it was no big deal. We chalked it up to a fluke. We received the car back on Thursday, March 14th with the explanation of what happened and that it was replaced under warranty. There were NO RECOMMENDATIONS made upon pick up. Exactly 2 weeks later on Thursday, March 28th, the car lost all power while traveling 60mph in the middle lane of the interstate. Again, there were no warning or diagnostic lights coming on. It was pure luck that there was minimal traffic and other drivers were paying attention as the car came to a complete stop in the middle of the highway in order to be restarted and it refused to accelerate above 20mph in order to limp to the shoulder and get to safety. Over an hour later and stopping and starting the car in a parking lot, the check engine light finally came on. The engine was running worse this time. The car had to be towed this time to the service center. After being checked out it was another spark plug and a fouled fuel injector. Researching online showed that this is a very common issue with Hyundai fuel injectors between 12,000 and 25,000 miles. There are currently no technical service bulletins or recalls warning owners of this common failure and potentially losing power traveling at high speeds. Research showed there have been 3 collisions caused by this exact issue to date.
Spring and Summer 2023: Multiple safety sensor malfunctions during highway rides pose a risk. The official dealership reset the system, but issues have persisted over the last few months. August 9, 2023: Sudden and intense shaking, poor driving performance. The vehicle was serviced at the official dealership (LITHIA Hyundai of New Port Richey #396). Replaced Parts: QQH Injector Assembly Fuel QQH Pipe-High Pressure Combustion Seal Ring K Bolt Gasket-Port Gasket-PCV FKM Washer-Injector Bracket x 2 September 25, 2023: Recurrence of shaking and jerking while driving on the highway. The vehicle was dropped off at the same official dealership. Replaced Parts: Spark Plugs Combustion Seal Ring QQH Pipe-High Pressure QQH Injector Assembly Fuel December 19th, 2023: The same issue appeared yesterday. The vehicle was dropped off for repair at the official dealership (LITHIA Hyundai of New Port Richey #396). Ongoing concerns and recurrent problems warrant further investigation and resolution. Dealership Information: LITHIA Hyundai of New Port Richey #396 Address: 3936 US Hwy 19, New Port Richey, FL 34652 Phone: (727) 203-7300
System Failed: Shut off in traffic. Vehicle can be inspected upon request. Safety risk: Potential for collision. Input from Dealership: Dealerships error code/diagnostic code was P213800. Reset system and recharge battery. Warning lights came on at the same time as the car shut down. One month prior check engine light came on, but car was operating normally. Dealership ran diagnostic test which did not indicate any issues. The suggestion was to tighten the gas cap.
This car has 36,000 miles, purchased new and serviced on schedule. The car is at the dealer for the third time since purchase. The first was a fuel injector issue/drivetrain error. The second time was a bad spark plug. The most current issue is another fuel injector. People on the internet have reported similar problems. The dealership has directed us to come get the car, which is unacceptable, because this is an engine error. I spoke to Hyundai Customer Car and they directed me to rent a car at my own cost and to not drive the car.
For the second time vehicle has lost power and slowly began slowing down. This time it was on the interstate which almost caused a collision with a semi. It is due to faulty fuel injectors which is a known issue with hyundai.
I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding a series of ongoing safety issues with our HYUNDAI TUCSON 2022 (leased in 2022). We have encountered alarming problems that are affecting the safety and reliability of the vehicle. On July 29, 2023, my husband was driving the vehicle up a sharp incline when the car started shaking/jolting and abruptly shut off. This resulted in a highly dangerous situation as the car began to roll back. He was unable to restart the vehicle, and it had to be towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership. It took over a week for the dealership to address and rectify the issue...so we thought (see below). Also, please note that there was smoke coming out from the exhaust when the tow truck came. It looked like smoke from a flame inside. Fast forward to November 8, 2023, the vehicle was experiencing the same issue as before: continuous shaking/jolting, and the vehicle abruptly shut off once again... stalling in the middle of a highway. A police officer saw what happened and helped my husband relocate the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway to avoid oncoming traffic/collision. He waited with my husband as he kept trying to get the vehicle to turn on. After 30 min, he was able to get it back on. The "check engine" light was illuminated. My husband drove home while the car was still shaking/jolting. We plan to, once again, have it towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership today. We were told the issue had been "resolved" from the last time this happened in July. Clearly, it was not resolved and I feel this vehicle should be recalled. These recurring problems are deeply unsettling for a vehicle that is not even two years old. Given the repeated and unresolved safety issues with this vehicle, I am concerned for the safety of myself, my family, my unborn child as I am expecting and other road users. I would like to request your immediate attention and intervention to address these problems effectively.
While driving vehicle, car lost power and show down on highway. Car would not start. Eventually started and sputtered white smoke and the smell of fuel. Car would only go 2 miles and hour. Took to dealership and they said it was the fuel injector pump. No recall has been issued even though several other Hyundai and Genesis i models have recalls for same issue.
Engine light is on at 6,000 miles, they fixed but on again a month after repair.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. Additionally, an unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
Check Engine Light comes on randomly.
My vehicle wouldn't start.3 warning indicator lights came on. I had just driven my car 4 hours ago and was going to delivery a cake. My car was parked in my garage. I pushed starter but vehicle wouldn't start. Had to push starter several times before indicator lights would shout off. Had to have vehicle towed to dealership on 7/9/23
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer for an alternator replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced at 45,000 however, upon retrieval of the vehicle, the mileage was 29,000. While driving, the idle START/STOP became inoperable. The radio failed to shut off and caused the battery to be drained. The contact called the dealer who informed him it would take six weeks for the battery to recalibrate. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.
On two occasions, both on busy highways traveling at about 65mph the engine just quit running. Very scary but fortunately was able to drift to the side of the road and wait for assistance. The car was towed to the nearest dealer two hours from my home. After the fuel injectors were replaced it was returned to us two weeks later. It only had 9,000 miles on it. This is a very dangerous problem to just stop running with no warning. We could have been hit from behind and killed.
On Friday 05.26.2023 I was driving on the highway and lost all acceleration power to the vehicle and was almost rear ended by a semi. Iwas able to pull off the road but had no power of more than 2 MPH to do so. No warning lights came on, no engine error codes. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership pending review. I have only 1,355 miles on the vehicle. I am afraid to drive this car.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while entering the highway and depressing the accelerator pedal to the floor, the vehicle failed to accelerate over 50 MPH. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel and vehicle was shaking abnormally. The contact continued driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer the following day, where it was diagnosed with needing fuel injector #4 to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer the following day, where it was diagnosed with needing the remaining fuel injectors to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine will not start despite having the key fob with live battery on my person. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was stranded 3 times in a week in dark public parking lots with limited cell reception. I had to abandon the vehicle to get to a warm, safe location, and as a single woman, did not feel comfortable staying with the car while other cars were loitering at night. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The car has been with the dealer for 6 days now and they have not been able to replicate the issue and it has happened to me 3 times in one week. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why the car won't start. After a few hours, the alarm sometimes goes off, and the system resets, allowing me to restart the car. Given this car has a push button start ignition, there is no mechanical way to crank the ignition to start the car, so I am left with no recourse. The last time this happened, I had it towed to the dealership because even after waiting 3 hours, the system did not restart and I had no recourse.
My wife was driving on the parkway north in New Jersey at approximately 65 miles an hour at about 3:45 pm. The car began to lose power, was shaking, and sputtering. Luckily, she was able to pull onto the shoulder and did not get hit by another car or truck. Once she pulled over, she let the car rest for about 10 minutes and started it up again. It hesitated, but started. Once she put it in gear, it stalled. she tried this two other times and it stalled each time. she waited for a tow truck and the care was towed to the dealer. The dealer invoice with repairs is attached.
3rd time Engine Control System code has appeared with complete engine loss the 3rd time. Dealership reset the other times I had called AAA to have it towed to dealership. Car was undrive able. Shaking with no RPM. Dealer ship won’t look at it till the 24th of August 2022
The engine will suddenly turn off several times while driving There has not been a turn-off at high speeds yet and the engine is turned off while driving at a low speed of approximately 20 to 40 miles.
When turning left or accelerating from 20 mph there is a really bad hesitation. The car has a hard time accelerating. It didn’t have this problem when we bought it. This poses a safety issue because you really have to give your self a lot of space or you will get hit for not accelerating. Every other time the car is quick and responsive.
I have owned the car for 5 months. But have had the ability to drive it for four and a half of them. This vehicle has put me and my family at serious risk multiple time. The first incident my car would not accelerate when I drove onto the highway and it would constantly stutter when I would attempt to accelerate again causing a truck to almost rear end us. The following day my vehicle had a hot engine temp. I pulled over on the highway to an empty antifreeze tank. Refilled it multiple times to only have it empty out and completely shut off while we were driving! Took it to the dealership where it took them 2 weeks to return it. When I asked what the problem was they said they don't know they just replaced it. 3 weeks later ( 5/28/22) while driving back from an event the car starts making a clunking sound and shuts off on me 3 times on my way home with my 9 and 7 year old in the back. Thank goodness it wasn't on the highway! It's now 6/1/22 and I still haven't heard anything about my vehicle! This death box has put my family at risk 5 times. I would strongly advise against buying it! The manufacturer could care less. Luckily the lemon law protects them against people who's lives are constantly put at risk while driving there vehicle!
At highway speed engine began stumbling and shaking car and stalled the car within 5 seconds bring car to halt. Engine would not restart properly, would not settle at idle rpm with rapidly inconsistent rpm shaking the car and then stall within 5 seconds. Any attempt to place car in drive immediately stalls car. After attempting 50-60 bump starts to get car off road the check engine light and error message about engine control system error eventually showed. Hyundai towing refused to take inoperable car to dealership for warranty repair of 1000mi car, instead left it at our apt parking lot. The engine failure left the driver and other motorists in danger as unable to move stranded car off 50mph busy main road on cold dark snowy evening. Dealer reports they are “swamped” with repairs and cannot see an inoperable car for at least 2-3 weeks and no loaners or rental could be provided. There were no warning lights or warning during initial stall or subsequent restarts. Error message and check engine light did not light until attempting 50-60 bump starts trying to get car off road and a hazard to occupants and other motorists.
Before even reaching 3,000 miles, the engine in this brand new vehicle overheated in very normal driving conditions (under 80 mph on straight, flat interstate in 60-70 degree sunny weather). The dealership technician determined that the engine overheated and the water pump was severely damaged due to the compressor bolts not being tightened correctly during the manufacturing process at the factory.
Dear all, I bought the 2022 Hyundai Tusan SUV on June 16th, 2021. Since then, the car engine has been turn off more than 20 times, causing problems that require restarting. When I stop at the traffic light while driving and start, the car will turn off and I have to take off my car key and wait in 30 seconds and turn on the car again. Nowadays, The brakes were not applied because the engine was turned off while driving. At that time, my driving speed was around 15mph because I exited from a HWY. I think the engine issue is occurred when the engine rpm is low. I took a video of the engine turn off issue. Thank you,
