Your 2012 Hyundai Tucson's subframe and suspension components have severely rusted, causing the rear passenger-side wheel to become dislocated while driving at moderate speeds, which made you lose control of the vehicle. Even though an undercoating spray was applied as a rust prevention service, the frame and suspension suffered enough damage to require complete replacement. The dealer provided a repair estimate, but the work was not completed due to the high cost.

TURN MY CAR ON WAS PROCEEDING TO BACK UP AND I HEARD A POP IT STILL MOVED SO I KNEW IT WASN'T THE TIE RODS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING I KEPT HEARING A RATTLE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN ON A BLOCK AWAY FROM MY HOUSE A PIECE FLEW OUT AND WAS THE SPRING FOR THE STRUT SHE ONLY HAS 40000 MILES ON IT I WAS READING UP AND THEY LAST BETWEEN 50000 AND 100000 MILES ON IT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL CLUNKING NOISE. UPON OPENING THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL POPPING NOISE AND A PIECE OF METAL DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COIL SPRING FRACTURED. SANSONE AUTO MALL (100 US HIGHWAY 1, AVENEL, NJ 07001) ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000.
EXITING FREEWAY, DECREASING SPEED, WHEN IT FELT AS THOUGH A TIRE HAD GONE FLAT. SHIMMY AND SUDDEN LOSE OF POWER FOLLOWED. STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT. CAR HAD NO POWER, INCREASING GAS ONLY REVVED ENGINE, BUT WOULD NOT MOVE VEHICLE AT ALL. WAS ABLE TO ROLL TO THE END OF THE FREEWAY OFF-RAMP AND PULL NEAR SHOULDER. ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN, BUT SOUNDED LIKE A CEMENT MIXER FULL OF LARGE ROCKS. ONCE TRANSMISSION WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL, IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR. ALSO REFUSED TO SHIFT INTO PARK. VEHICLE WAS FLAT-BEDDED TO DEALER. MECHANICS DETERMINED THE RIGHT TRANS-AXLE HAD SEPARATED FROM THE WHEEL WITH SPINDLE DAMAGE. INITIALLY IT WAS THOUGHT THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED, BUT THAT MAY NOT BE THE CASE. *TR
