The car turned on the engine light indicating misfire in all the engine cylinders the dealer informed me that it was due to the fuel injector system and they changed them they gave me the car but it no longer worked I returned to the dealer and they told me that I have to pay for that they uncover the engine and find out the damage that was allegedly caused by the injectors with factory defects and that I have to pay for the repair of the engine to change it if necessary with my money.

At 60 MPH, the fuel injectors failed on cylinder 1/2/3 (known issue based on TSB [XXX]). The vehicle produced various error codes but did not go into limp mode. We proceeded to the nearest exit on the highway to safely pull off.

There’s currently a recall on the 2018 2019 Honda odysseys. The recall is for the same as exact issue that I had with my 2018 Honda Odyssey there’s a problem with the connecting rod bearings recall campaign number 23V751000. I’m being told from Honda that my van does not fall into the production date range for the recall.

Around October 29th my vehicle developed a faint to loud noise within 24 hours. There was no engine light, no leaking of fluids and no other warning. As we drove the vehicle to a repair shop I could tell there was some hesitation or lack of normal power.

In two separate incidents, my vehicle stalled when it tried to restart after being in Auto Idle Stop mode. In both incidents, I was stopped at an intersection where I was making an unprotected left turn. As I was stopped, the Auto Idle Stop mode activated on my Honda Odyssey which turned off the engine.

On at least 3 occasions, the "Auto Engine Idle Stop" has caused my vehicle to completely die while stopped at a stop light. When the car shuts off/dies, the system prompts you to shift the car in park and restart the car, but on these occasions, the car did not start, leaving me stalled in active traffic. I felt very unsafe to be stalled with no way to operate the vehicle.

My Van has only 110,000 miles on it. Yesterday I was driving my family home from a sports event my wife myself and my four kids. I got a flashing check engine light and was able to pull over, but it was an unsafe area on the side of the interstate.

I have maintained 2018 Honda Odyssey regularly, getting it serviced when or before it was due. A month ago (at 90K) miles, we started to hear a noise in the engine. I took it to Honda and they said that I need an entirely new (rebuilt) engine.

I bought a 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L with around 80,000 miles. Not long after, I noticed a loud engine vibration and rough noise during idling and acceleration. I took it to a Honda dealership, and they diagnosed a failing high-pressure fuel pump that required immediate replacement.

Honda has issued a recall for the 2018-2019 Honda Odyssey vehicles and certain Acura, Pilot, and Ridgeline vehicles due to a manufacturing error on the connecting rod bearing in the engine, which can damage the engine. Might also be in service bulletin 24-003. This recall, identified as #23V751000, was announced on November 12, 2023.

On this 2018 Honda Odyssey, at 93000 miles, an abnormal noise started to occur under acceleration. Dealer diagnostic indicated the noise is coming from the bottom end of the engine, likely from the rod bearings. The vehicle has recently and suddenly developed a loud engine knocking sound which sounds like an engine bottom-end knock (crankshaft or connecting rod). The sound is dependent upon engine RPM and is most noticeable at low RPM and when the engine is warm. The knocking sound is severe for the first 1-2 seconds on cold engine start, until oil pressure is developed.

The engine failed without prior indication. The dealer says the engine is destroyed and needs to be replaced. Once the engine stopped working the vehicle would not go into neutral and was immovable preventing the vehicle from being moved to a safe location.

when stopped in traffic or a light, the engine idle engages. on several occassions (5-6) the stop is too short but the Auto Engine idle is engaged and rather than restart the engine, it turns the engine off. THe car will not restart or turn off unless I open the driver door then hit the on/off button and let the whole car completely shut down before turning it back on.

Car has acceleration issues when making left turns, merging onto freeway, or passing cars on freeway. Transmission and blind spot light went on and we took car to Honda dealer. They could not find anything wrong, no codes were stored and they were not able to duplicate the issue.

Manufacturing Engine damage/failure. Synthetic oil was used at all oil changes every 5K miles. However, after only 3K miles after last oil change the oil level was low and dirty.

When coming to a stop, usually in stop / go traffic and at times when coming to a complete stop, the auto-idle stop kicks in, but then immediately shuts the engine down and shifts vehicle into park. Vehicle has to be entirely shut down and restarted to bring the engine back. We have been taking the vehicle to the dealership since we bought it a couple of years ago.

The engine was making a chirping noise that was heard from within the cabin. The service department of the Honda dealer verified with Honda that the noise was due to a timing belt chirp, per Honda Service Bulletin(SB) 16-054, which applied to the year, make and model of the automobile.

The 2018 odyssey has many problems on the fuel injectors system that caused all checking engines lights on. The costs to repair is too expensive. Costs me 1650.00 at my local honda dealer

Engine failed while driving, will no longer start. Mechanic believe it is either connecting rod or main bearing failure. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer and will be sold to another person as is.

My car needs a complete engine replacement due to "rod knock" or "bottom-end failures." It's my understanding that some Honda vehicles were recalled due to this (Recall 23V-751). And that there were other vehicles having issues beyond the scope of this recall (Query RQ24013).

2018 Odyssey EXL engine seized up at 111k miles. There's now a bunch of metal shavings in the oil. The engine will not turn over.

At highway speed on cruise control the engine went out. Van only has 118,000 miles on it.

The throttle can loose power at stop and then suddenly engine picks up the throttle which not normal and this is not maintenance issue as service station and Honda does not confirm the behavior a defect or a problem. This is very concerning.

Several people have told me that they hear a banging or thudding heavy sound coming my 2018 odyssey engine. The sound frequency increases as the engine RPM’s increase. I have seen many reports that state that this symptom could lead to a total engine failure which makes the car unsafe and is caused by incorrectly machined crank shafts (oversized).

There is a recall on other 18 model year vans for the rod bearing failure. This happened to me on my van and it has had regular oil changes and has around 139000 miles on it. This could have been catastrophic for the ones around me if I was driving on the interstate and the bearing gave out and hurt my family due to the engine seizing.

Vehicle failed to restart after auto shut off engaged at red light. I was unable to move and had to turn vehicle off completely and restart.

There is a major safety issue that has happened a few times now. As I come to a stop, or come out of a stop, the engine stutters and completely shuts off. All electronics stop too.

2018 Honda Odyssey engine failure due to a 'spun' connecting rod bearing. This is a known issue with this particular make and model and should be considered in the recall for these vehicles.

Engine has been “hiccuping” for a few months and making a knocking sound. Brought it to Honda on 3 separate occasions and they “could not replicate” the sound. And said it’s normal.

We encountered a total engine failure while driving down a Montana highway in our 2018 Honda Odyssey. In the car were my partner and I, an elderly person, and a child. We had to wait over 2 hours for a tow truck in extreme heat in a dangerous location.

I called Honda services when I received the recall letter from the mail and they kept on telling me that the parts has not come in yet, so call back later. So, I did do that I called back around 2-3 times and they kept on telling me the same thing that the parts have not come in yet and call back later and would not let me make an appointment.

We are having the same issue as indicated on the Service Bulletin 20-100 but our VIN is not listed as covered by the manufacturer.

My odyssey is running rough and Not accelerating correctly. All lights on the dash come on including emissions and power steering and traction control. I recently spent close to $3,000 doing the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, and valve adjustment.

engine reves , no forward movement. Happened the first time on 80/94 east bound (traffic slowed @ 34-36 MPH). 4 times now in the last two years.

The vehicle is slowing at low speed and it gives an impression that break is being applied when there is no break being applied.
