FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
Delphi Automotive Systems, LLC (Delphi) is recalling certain replacement fuel pump modules, part number FG1155-11B1, sold for use in 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey vehicles. The affected fuel pump may send an incorrect fuel reading to the fuel gauge possibly causing the vehicle to run out of fuel. The fuel gauge will always read 3/4 full to full regardless of the actual level.
Fix: Delphi has begun notifying dealers and distributors, and will replace the fuel pump modules, free of charge. Owners may contact Delphi customer service at 1-877-411-8770. Delphi's number for this recall is GL14-004.
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey vehicles manufactured June 23, 2004, through September 4, 2010. In the affected vehicles, the fuel pump strainer cover may deteriorate allowing fuel to leak out.
Fix: Parts to permanently repair the affected vehicles are not currently available. Honda will notify owners with an interim letter during May 2014. A second notice was mailed to owners October 6, 2014 when the remedy became available. Any vehicles that are currently leaking from the fuel pump cover will get a replacement, original cover. All vehicles, including those receiving the interim repair, will get an improved cover when they are available. Owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009. The recall numbers associated with this campaign are JD9 (inspection and/or preliminary part replacement) and JE0 (final parts replacement).

LEJEUNE HONDA CARS LOCATED AT 2221 N MARINE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, NC 28546, (910) 346-4944, WERE CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. PROFESSIONALLY DIAGNOSED AT DEALERSHIP CATALAYTIC CONVERTER FAULTY AT LESS THAN 90,000 MILES WITH CONSISTENT MAINTENANCE. THERE IS NO REASON TO HAVE TO PAY OVER $2,000 FOR REPAIRS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND HAS HAD RELATIVELY FEW MILES PUT ON IT GIVEN ITS AGE.

I WAN ON VACATION 500 MILES AWAY FROM HOME. DRIVING THE 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY AS NORMAL ON THE HIGHWAY. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE STARTED OVER-REVVING AND THE VAN SLOWED DOWN. I PULLED OVER SAFELY. THE VAN WOULD NOT MOVE IN DRIVE ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE WAS FINE. IT HAD TO BE TOWED 100 MILES TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHERE WE DISCOVERED THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED AT GREAT COST. *TR

AFTER DRIVING FUEL SMELL FROM REAR OF VEHICLE AND FUMES ENTER CABIN AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING. INSPECTED FOR LEAK FOUND LIQUID FUEL DRIPS FROM TOP OF FUEL TANK, REMOVED INTERIOR COMPARTMENT ACCESS PANEL AND FOUND SPIDER CRACKS IN THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING. WHEN THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN, THE CONTACT DROVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE. WHEN HE TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN FIFTEEN MINUTES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD BE WITHIN THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,500.
I HAVE HAD MY HONDA ODYSSEY INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT A CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH VEHICLE WHEN IT COMES TO A STOP. I RECENTLY WAS TOLD BY A HONDA REPRESENTATIVE (MECHANIC OF HONDA) THAT SOME OF THE ODYSSEY (2006 MODEL) THE NOISE IS FROM THE GAS TANK BUMPING. I WAS TOLD THIS IS JUST A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE ODYSSEY. I TOLD THEM THAT SOMETIMES THE NOISE IS REALLY A LOUD AND A HARD CLUNK. I THEN WAS TOLD JUST CHECK AND SEE HOW FULL THE GAS TANK IS AT THE TIME. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND LEARNED OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. I DON'T HOW THISCOULD NOT BE A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN GAS IS INVOLVED? I THINK THEY SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. *TR
