Your sun visors are splitting at the seams and losing their structural integrity, causing them to flop down and block your view while driving. This happens repeatedly during hot summer months because the adhesive Honda uses softens in the heat and fails prematurely. You may need to replace both visors multiple times over the life of your vehicle. A repair would likely involve replacing the sun visor assembly with a new one or having it re-glued with a heat-resistant adhesive.

WIPER BLADES MAKES LOUD RUBBING NOISE, BECAUSE WIPER ARMS ARE PRESSED VERY HARD AGAINST WINDSHIELD CAUSING FRICTION BETWEEN THE BLADES AND WINDSHIELD. I INSTALLED NEW WIPERS FROM SAM'S CLUB, STILL LOUD NOISE IS NOT GOING AWAY. THIS PROBLEM EXISTED EVER SINCE I BOUGHT BRAND NEW CIVIC IN 2010, BUT DUE TO LIGHT USAGE MOSTLY IN DRY DAYS, I IGNORED THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN RAIN OR SNOW DUE TO POORLY DESIGNED WIPER ARMS OR WIPER ASSEMBLY. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN 54,000 MILES SINCE 2010.
IN 2012 I PURCHASED A 2010 HONDA CIVIC EX COUPE. I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE SUN VISORS BREAKING. AT FIRST MY WARRANTY COVERED THE COST AND THEN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE OF $150.00 EACH TIME I HAD TO REPLACE. THE ISSUE IS THE SAFETY OF NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE IN THE SUN LIGHT OR THE EVENING, DUE TO THE BROKEN SUN VISORS DANGLING IN MY LINE OF SIGHT. ENCLOSED ARE PICTURES OF THE BROKEN SUN VISORS PASS AND PRESENT. I WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACING THE DRIVERS SIDE ONCE AGAIN FOR MY SAFETY, DUE TO THE SHARP POINTY OBJECT BY MY HEAD WHERE THE SUN VISOR WAS ATTACHED TO. I DID CALL HONDA CORP AND REPORT THE ISSUE ONLY AGAIN AND THE SAFETY ISSUE OF THE POINT OBJECT BY MY HEAD. I TOOK MY HONDA TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SUN VISOR. BOTH THE SERVICE PERSON AND MECHANIC HAD TO CAREFUL PLACE THEMSELVES IN MY HONDA TO ENSURE THEY DID NOT POKE THE HEAD ON THE SHARP POINTY OBJECT.
SUN VISOR IN 2010 HONDA CIVIC BROKEN. THE PLASTIC IS CRACKED AT THE SEAM AND THE MECHANISM INSIDE THE VISOR CANNOT WORK PROPERLY. VISOR DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE IN EITHER UP OR DOWN POSITION. VISOR FALLS INTO LINE OF VISION DURING VEHICLE OPERATION. FAILS TO BLOCK THE SUN WHEN NECESSARY. HONDA REFUSES TO FIX THE VISOR. A NEW VISOR IS $95 EXCLUDING LABOR. I HAVE REPORTED THIS BEFORE AND THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.

THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKING BY THE RADIO AND OVER THE PASSENGER'S AIRBAG. THE VEHICLE HAD COMPLICATIONS WITH LOW GAS MILEAGE. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE PHOTO ENFORCED CAMERAS ARE FAULTY. *JS THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE'S WINDSHIELD HAS A BLIND SPOT ON THE LEFT SIDE PLACEMENT OF THE SIDE AIRBAG AND HAS INAPPROPRIATE TYPES OF PLASTIC USED THROUGH OUT THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO SALE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE COMPANY TO BE ANALYZED. *JS

IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD SINCE VISIBILITY IS GREATLY AFFECTED WITH THE VISOR NOT WORKING IN THE SUMMER SUN!! I HAVE NOTICED THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM WHEN PURCHASED IT IN 2015 BUT THOUGH THE VISOR'S ARM JUST NEED SOME LUBRICATION BUT THAT'S NOT THE CASE.
I HAVE REPLACED A FAN RESISTOR FOR MY INTERIOR FAN THREE TIMES ONCE AT THE DEALER AND THE OTHER TWO AT A MECHANIC SHOP THIS HAS BECOME DANGEROUS DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU CAN NOT TURN ON YOUR FAN WHEN YOU NEED TO DEFROST YOU WINDSHIELD WHEN IT FOGS UP RESTRICTING YOUR VISIBILITY TO A DANGEROUS LEVEL.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR JUST CRACKED OPEN AND BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO FOLD BACK UP. IT STAYS HANGING FROM THE CEILING AND LIMITING VISIBILITY. TO SEE BETTER I HAVE TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE SEAT, BUT MAKES THE DRIVING UNCOMFORTABLE AND WITH LOWER VISIBILITY AS WELL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SUN VISOR WOULD NOT REMAIN IN PLACE AND FELL CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INNER PART WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. INTERIOR SUN VISOR FAILURE . THE SUN VISORS WILL NO LONGER STAY IN THE UP POSITION. NO INCIDENT BUT THE SUN VISOR FAILURE EFFECTS VISIBILITY THEREFORE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE AND DEFECT IN MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP AND REPAIRED AT THE MANUFACTURES EXPENSE.
DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR IS BROKEN. THE PLASTIC SEAM HAS SPLIT AND THE VISOR WOULD NOT STAY IN PLACE. THE VISOR SUDDENLY TURNS DOWN WHILE DRIVING OBSTRUCTING MY VIEW OF THE ROAD AND THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. I MANAGED TO GET THE GEAR INSIDE BACK INTO POSITION, BUT CANNOT USE THE VISOR WHEN NEEDED BECAUSE IT BREAKS EVERY TIME IT IS LOWERED INTO POSITION. THIS IS SAFETY HAZARD.
THERE IS KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE SUN VISORS FOR THIS MODEL OF HONDA CIVIC. THE VISOR FALLS APART IN THE MIDDLE, AND THEN WILL NOT STAY UP. IT IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS. EITHER THE VISOR IS DOWN BLOCKING SIGHT OF THE ROAD, OR IF YOU HAVE IT RIGGED TO STAY UP THEN YOU HESITATE TO PULL THE VISOR DOWN BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER GET IT TO STAY UP AGAIN SO YOU END UP DRIVING WITH SUN IN YOUR EYES. EACH TIME I GET A REPLACEMENT IT COSTS ME ABOUT $80 OR SO, SO I AVOID THAT TOO. HONDA, PLEASE COME UP WITH A SOLUTION!!!! PROBLEM STARTED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE AND CONTINUES TODAY. THE SUN VISOR ON MY 2010 HONDA CIVIC WILL NOT STAY UP IN THE LOCK POSITION. IT WILL FALL DOWN AT ANY MOMENT AND NOT FULLY LOCK INTO UP POSITION. THIS WAS ADDRESSED WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAVE CALLED BACK TWICE AND WAS TOLD HIS REP HAS NOT GOT BACK TO HIM AND I NEED TO WAIT. TIRED OF WAITING BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE THE VISOR CAN SUDDENLY FALL DOWN IN THE STRAIGHT DOWN POSITION AND BLOCK VIEW. I CALLED HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY SAY I WILL NEED TO WAIT 2 TO 3 DAYS FOR SOMEONE TO GET BACK WITH ME. IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE, JUST LOOK AT ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE, AND THEY HAVE A PROCESS THAT CAN TAKE WEEKS OR MONTHS TO FIX IT. BASED ON MY FACTUAL PERSONAL EXPERIENCE SO FAR.
SUNVISOR ON DRIVER SIDE IS COMING APART AT THE SEAM AND WILL NOT STAY COMPLETELY IN THE UP POSITION (AGAINST THE ROOF LINER). I HATE HAVING TO PAY A DEALER TO FIX PIDDLY LITTLE THINGS LIKE THIS AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED TO SEE THIS KIND OF ISSUE ON A HONDA. WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THIS THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, AS I HAD JUST GOTTEN IN THE CAR TO GO HOME FROM WORK. I DON'T REMEMBER EXACTLY WHEN THIS HAPPENED BUT IT WAS DURING THIS PAST SUMMER, I WOULD GUESS MID TO LATE AUGUST, WHEN IT WAS VERY HOT IN NORTH ALABAMA. THE ATTACHED PICTURES WERE TAKEN TODAY, IN MID-OCTOBER.
VEHICLE SUN VISORS FAIL AND HANG DOWN BLOCKING DRIVERS VIEW. IT CAN HAPPEN UNEXPECTEDLY AND CAN ONLY BE CLEARED BY QUICKLY MOVING VISOR TO SIDE OR HOLDING UP. BOTH ACTIONS EFFECT THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO SAFELY OPERATE AUTOMOBILE.

THE FIRST SUNVISOR BROKE JUST BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. IT WASN'T MUCH OF PROBLEM TO GET IT REPLACED. ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE SECOND SUNVISOR BROKE AND CAME OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. AFTER CONTACTING AMERICAN HONDA THE SUNVISOR WAS REPLACED FOR 17.00. HOWEVER, I REFRAIN FROM USING IT BECAUSE I WORRY THAT IT WILL FALL APART AGAIN. BOTH TIMES IT WAS THE SUNVISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. LAST WEEK THE SUNVISOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BROKE. ALTHOUGH THESE ARE SMALL PARTS, THEY ARE INTEGRAL TO SAFETY AS THEY SHIELD THE DRIVER' EYES FROM THE SUN. EVEN IF HONDA KEEPS REPLACING THIS PARTS AT NO CHARGE, THEY ARE AT BEAT ORNAMENTAL. THE SUNVISORS SHOULD BE REPAIRED WITH GOOD QUALITY SUNVISORS THAT LAST THE LIFETIME OF THE CAR. MY 1997 ACCORD STILL HAS FUNCTIONING SUNVISORS AFTER MORE THAN 200K MILES. *TR
SUN VISOR FELL DOWN ON DRIVERS SIDE SCARING DRIVER & COULD HAVE CAUSED ACCIDENT. NOW THE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP & BLOCKS VISIBILITY. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUN VISORS HAVE FAILED. THE VISORS ARE MADE UP OF TWO HORIZONTAL PIECES OF PLASTIC SNAPPED TOGETHER. BOTH VISORS HAVE SEPARATED AND NO LONGER "GRIP" THE VISOR SWING ARM, THE METAL PIECE THAT ATTACHES THE VISOR TO THE CAR AND ALLOWS IT TO BE REPOSITIONED. ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST THE VISOR RESULTS IN THE TWO PIECES OF THE VISOR SEPARATING FROM EACH OTHER AND THE VISOR BECOMING DISENGAGED; MEANING, IT WILL NO LONGER ALLOW ITSELF TO BE ADJUSTED. IT WILL NO LONGER STAY IN ANY SET POSITION. ALL ATTEMPTS TO PUT IT BACK TO ITS RETRACTED POSITION AGAINST THE HEADLINER WILL RESULT IN IT JUST FALLING BACK DOWN TO THE NEUTRAL VERTICAL POSITION. MY HONDA DEALER REPLACED THE INITIAL FAILED DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR AFTER I COMPLAINED MULTIPLE TIMES AND BEING THAT MY CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER THE SAME DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEN IT FAILED EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS STILL UNDER THE 36 MONTH / 36000 MILE WARRANTY. AT ABOUT 52000 MILES, THE DRIVER'S VISOR THAT WAS REPLACED FAILED AGAIN. THE DEALER SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD COST ME $90 TO REPLACE EACH SIDE. CURRENTLY WE HAVE PLACARDED BOTH WITH "DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PULL DOWN INOP." MY CIVIC HAS A THROUGH MAINTENANCE HISTORY RECORD AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED BY THE SAME HONDA DEALER. THE DATES AND MILEAGE ARE ESTIMATED BUT WITH A LITTLE RESEARCH, IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE BOTH MILEAGE AND DATES WITHIN A COUPLE THOUSAND MILES OR A COUPLE MONTHS USING THE SERVICE RECORDS/NOTES. *TR

I HAVE READ THAT HONDA HAS HAD ISSUES IN THE PAST WITH THEIR VISORS BUT ONLY FIXING UP TO 2009 AND MINE IS A 2010. THIS IS A BIT DANGEROUS. *TR

FROM LOOKING AROUND IT WOULD BE ABOUT A 46 TO 53 DOLLAR REPAIR PLUS SHIPPING IF I DO IT MYSELF. WHAT A RIP OFF ON SOMETHING POORLY DESIGNED. I'VE ALREADY SEARCHED THE ISSUE ON THE INTERNET AND SOME HONDA FORUMS (EVEN ON AMAZON WHERE IT SHOWS PEOPLE WHO TECHNICALLY IN WARRANTY (EXTENDED) BUT DON'T KNOW) WHICH SHOW DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS. ITS STILL HAPPENING TO THE 2010 HONDA'S SO ITS NOT JUST THE EARLIER MODELS OF THE 2006-2008. *TR

HENDRICK HONDA IN BRADENTON, FL ADVISED IT WAS DUE TO "LUCK OF THE DRAW...VERY BAD LUCK" AND "I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE." HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. IN THE STATE OF FL YOUR CAR INSURANCE WILL PAY TO REPLACE YOUR WINDSHIELD ONLY IF THERE IS A CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD SO THAT WAS $300+ OUT OF POCKET. MY DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR HAS SPLIT IN TWO CAUSING IT TO DANGLE IN FRONT OF MY FACE... AGAIN NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THE DEALER QUOTED $100 PER VISOR FOR REPLACEMENT. *JS

SUN VISOR CRACKS BECAUSE OF HOT WEATHER. THE SIMILAR INCIDENT HAPPENED BEFORE FOR HONDA CIVIC MODEL FROM 2006 TO 2009. I BELIEVE HONDA STILL USED SOME DEFECTIVE SUN VISORS ON SOME HONDA CIVIC VEHICLES. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WAS NOT STAYING IN PLACE FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. YESTERDAY, WHEN I TRIED TO ADJUST IT, THE WHOLE THING CAME RIGHT OFF. THE VISOR SPLIT OPEN AND A BUNCH OF LITTLE PLASTIC PIECES INSIDE WERE BROKEN. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND THE PART COSTS $45 AND LUCKILY I'M NOT BEING CHARGED A SERVICE FEE. I WANTED TO REPORT THIS BECAUSE I HAVE READ A LOT ABOUT IT ONLINE AND IT'S NOT FAIR THAT THE MANUFACTURER USES SUCH CHEAP PARTS THAT WILL MELT OR BREAK. *TR
THE STANDARD SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS DEFECTIVE. IT DIDN'T STAY UP PROPERLY STARTING RELATIVELY SOON AFTER PURCHASE, THEN SPLIT AND HAD TO BE REMOVED. IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME DEFECT AS OTHER OWNER'S HAVE DESCRIBED IN THEIR CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR 2006-2009 MODEL YEARS. *TR
MY DRIVER'S SIDE SUNVISOR NO LONGER COMPLETELY RETRACTS. IT HAS SPLIT OPEN AT THE JOINT AND IS CONSTANTLY FALLING IN THE WAY OF MY VISION. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS AN ANNOYANCE. I KNOW THAT PREVIOUS MODELS OF THE CIVIC HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND I DON'T THINK HONDA DID ANYTHING TO FIX THE (WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY) A DESIGN FLAW. *TR
THE VISOR SPLIT/CRACKED OPEN, AND NOW IT WILL NOT STAY IN POSITION. SO, THE VISOR IS PERMANENTLY DOWN, AND THEREFORE, DECREASING VISIBILITY. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE AT THE HINGE, THIS BLOCKS THE VIEW. HAVE TO HOLD IT UP IN ORDER TO SEE THE LIGHTS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 HONDA CIVIC, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE, FALLING INTO THE FIELD OF VIEW FOR THE DRIVER. THE VISOR FAILED TO REMAIN IN THE RETRACTED (UP) POSITION, AND WOULD FALL BACK INTO THE DRIVER'S FIELD OF VIEW, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION BY RESTRICTING THE DRIVERS VISION. *TR

THE SUN VISOR ON MY 2010 CIVIC IS BROKEN. THE GLUE HOLDING TOGETHER THE PLASTIC MOLDING AND THE FABRIC WITHIN THE VISOR HAS DETERIORATED WHICH MAKES THE VISOR NOT ABLE TO CLOSE PROPERLY AND CONTINUOUSLY FALL DOWN. I HAVE FOUND INFO ONLINE THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST HONDA IN 2011 FOR MOST CIVICS BETWEEN 2006-2009 HOWEVER SINCE MINE IS A 2010 IT DOES NOT FALL INTO THAT CATEGORY. YET IS DOES SEEM AS THOUGH THE ISSUE WAS NOT FIXED PROPERLY. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE ATTORNEY WHO HANDLED THE SUIT AGAINST HONDA AND IT WAS SUGGESTED I FILE A COMPLAINT HERE TO GET THE WORD OUT THAT THE ISSUE STILL EXISTS SO HOPEFULLY WE CAN EXPAND THE CLASS WITHIN THE LAWSUIT. *TR
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE SIMPLY BY PULLING IT DOWN TO SHIELD THE SUN. BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUN VISORS HAD BEEN REPLACED ALREADY, SO THIS IS THE THIRD TIME. ONCE IT BROKE, IT JUST HANG THERE. SINCE IT DOES NOT STAY UP OR DOWN, IT PARTIALLY BLOCKS THE VIEW OUT OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. IT IS QUITE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THIS CONDITION. YOU CAN NOT MOVE IT TO THE SIDE EITHER, ONCE IT BROKE OPEN. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS HONDA SIMPLY WILL REPLACE THE SAME POORLY-DESIGNED SUN VISOR WITH ANOTHER ONE, IT IS GOING TO BREAK AGAIN. THE REASON WHY I POINT THIS OUT BECAUSE THIS WILL BE MY THIRD ONE!!! *TR
LEAVING NASHVILLE, TN, OUR NEW HONDA CIVIC 2010 REAR WINDSHIELD EXPLODED, COMPLETELY SHATTERING, BUT REMAINING INTACT. IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT THE REAR WINDOW DUE TO THIS. NO FOREIGN OBJECT CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE WINDSHIELD. HONDA SUSPECTS FAULTY GLASS. *KB
DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISORS ARE IN THE DOWN POSITION AND HAVE LOST THEIR MECHANICAL ABILITY TO BE PLACED IN ITS RESTING POSITION AGAINST THE HEADLINER. THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR IN ITS DOWN POSITION IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER BECAUSE VISIBILITY IS LIMITED. WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING, THIS POSES A SERIOUS DANGER FOR THE DRIVER WHILE OPERATING THE MOTOR VEHICLE. *TR
THE NIGHT LIGHT NEEDS TO BE TURN ON AND IS SO DIM THAT YOU NEED THE HIGH BEAM LIGHT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WHICH IS JUST PLAIN BLINDING FOR THE PERSON IN FRONT/ OR COMING TOWARDS ME. *TR
SUNVISOR ON DRIVES SIDE CRACKED AT SEAM AND UNABLE TO RETURN TO THE UP POSITION. OBSTRUCTING VIEW. HAD TO REMOVE VISOR TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD SAME PROBLEM, TWO MONTHS LATER. DEALER REPLACED NO COST TO ME; HOWEVER, STATED IT THIS OCCURRED AGAIN I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR. BOTH TIME DEALER HAD PART IN STOCK, I FOUND THAT A SUN VISOR WOULD BE IN STOCK. *TR
