HONDA CIVIC YEARS 06 TO 09, ENGINE BLOCK LEAKS NO OWNER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED NOR HAVE THE DEALERSHIPS PARTICIPATED IN NOTIFYING THAT PERSON AFTER PURCHASE. APPARENTLY HANNAH IS AWARE OF THIS. AND HAS NOT CONTACTED OWNERS
"TAKATA RECALL". MY HONDA CIVIC 2009 LX SEDAN IS GIVING ME A VERY HARD TIME. ITS AIR CONDITION TURNS ON BUT STOPS WORKING RIGHT AFTER 10 MINTS AS THE COMPRESSOR GETS HOT AND IT STARTS BLOWING HOT AIR. THIS ISSUE IS WITH ALMOST ALL VEHICLES OF THE SAME GENERATION AND HONDA IS NOT GOING TO OWN IT AND SAYS THAT THE CARS ARE OUT OF WARRANTY NOW. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER.
I NO LONGER OWN THIS CAR. I SOLD IT TO A JUNKYARD 6 MONTHS AGO. PLEASE STOP SENDING ME RECALL NOTICES.
LEAK IN INTERIOR OF THE AUTOMOBILE WHICH HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT (BRAMAN HONDA) WAS UNABLE TO FIND AFTER 7 HOURS OF INVESTIGATION. LEAK IS ON BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE. I HAVE SEEN MANY VIDEOS ON YOUUTUBE DESCRIBING INTERIOR LEAKS ON HONDAS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS IS A COMMONLY REPORTED PROBLEM AND IF THE CAR COMPANY CAN RECOMMEND A FIX. PLEASE HELP.
DRIVING INTO THE SUN AND ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST VISOR IT JUST DROPPED TO HANG IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS FACE BLOCKING VISION DRIVER THEN FORCED TO DRIVE HOLDING VISOR OUT WAY.
THE PAINT ON THE CAR IS FADING AWAY AND I HAVE NO CLUE WHY. I WANTED TO KNOW IF IT WOULD BE FREE TO REPAINT THE CAR.
I OWN A 2009 4 DOOR HONDA CIVIC. I BOUGHT IT IN DECEMBER 2009. AMONG SOME OTHER PROBLEMS, INCLUDING THE AIRBAGS, IN 2012 THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR DEVELOPED A CRACK AND THEN FELT APART. I TOOK IT TO HONDA DEALER AND THEY REPLACED IT FREE OF CHARGE, BUT NOW THE SAME REPLACEMENT HAVE DEVELOPED THE SAME IDENTICAL CRACK AND THE METAL PARTS ARE COMING APART IN THE BACK OF THE VISOR. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS NOW MY RESPONSIBILITY AND HAVE TO REPLACE IT AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THIS DOES NOT SEEM FAIR TO ME BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE VISOR AND IF I HAVE TO SPEND ALMOST $200 TO REPLACE IT, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE SAME ISSUE DOES NOT COME UP AGAIN, BECAUSE HONDA HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS THE REAL ISSUE OF THE WORKMANSHIP OF THEIR VISORS. WHILE DRIVING AT A NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEED, WITH ALL WINDOWS ROLLED UP, A/C ON, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW EXPLODED. THIS WAS ON A WELL PAVED, STRAIGHT PIECE OF HIGHWAY. THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND, DRIVER WAS IN THE FAR-RIGHT LANE, AND THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF FOUL PLAY, CRACKS, CHIPS OR BREAKAGE IN THE WINDOW PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING. GLASS BLEW ALL OVER THE BACK SEAT AND THERE ARE JUST A FEW PIECES OF GLASS STILL HANGING WHERE THE WINDOW ONCE WAS. THIS WAS A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE AND HAD THIS BEEN A FRONT WINDOW, IT COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY SERIOUS. CAUSE IS UNKNOWN.
BROKEN SUN VISOR. GOUDY REPLACED PASSENGER VISOR TWO THREE YEARS AGO BUT DID NOT REPLACE DRIVER VISOR.
SUN VISORS HAVE BOTH SEPARATED
TAKATA RECALLI BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AROUND THE END OF SUMMER 2016 THE CAR IS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT HAS APPROX. 210,000 MILES ON IT. I USED THE PASSENGER VISOR 4/17/17 AND NOW IT WONT STAY UP AND I SEE ITS SPLIT. I WENT ONLINE TO SEE HOW TO FIX IT AND I CAME ACROSS THE CLASS ACTION SUIT IN REGARDS TO THE VISOR. I EMAILED HONDA WHO CALLED AND TOLD ME THE CAR IS OVER THE MILEAGE AND IT WILL COST ME APPROX. $180 TO FIX. ITS REALLY ANNOYING AND HAMPERS THE VIEW WITH IT LAYING DOWN LIKE THAT. I FEEL THEY SHOULD STILL FIX THE PROBLEM FOR FREE.
PAINT AND CLEAR COAT IN AREAS FROM FRONT TO REAR, ON HOOD, TRUNK AND ON ROOF, IS THIN, PEELING, SPOTTY, OR DOWN TO THE METAL. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND GOT NO SATISFACTION. SAID THAT EVEN THOUGH MANY OTHERS HAVE SAME PROBLEMS IT IS NOT A COVERED ISSUE. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE WHEN I HAVE READ SO MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS! NEED IT REPAINTED.
THE HORN STOPPED WORKING A YEAR OR SO AGO. WE REPLACED IT AND THE REPLACEMENT HAS STOPPED WORKING.
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN SURFACE STREETS, I HIT A BUMP AND MY ALREADY SAGGING FLIP VISOR DROPPED DOWN AND ALMOST COMPLETELY OBSTRUCTED MY VIEW OF THE ROAD. BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO GRAB AND FLIP IT BACK UP, THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME HAD SLOWED SIGNIFICANTLY. I REALIZE THERE HAS BEEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE, HOWEVER MY VIN IS ~800 ABOVE THE HIGHEST VIN INCLUDED. HONDA IS REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THIS BECAUSE THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS VIN-SPECIFIC. I WOULDN'T ORDINARILY BOTHER WITH THIS BUT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE
THE CLEAR COAT HAS WORN AWAY ON THE ROOF AND WILL NEED TO BE REPAINTED.
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR SPLIT AND NOW HANGS DOWN OBSTRUCTING MY VIEW. THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH 2009 AND EARLIER CIVICS; HOWEVER, MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AS A RESULT OF THE CLASS ACTION SUIT.
WHILE DRIVING THE PASSENGER SIDE SUN SUDDENLY FLIPPED/FELL DOWN AND WAS JUST SWINGING. IT SEEMS THAT THE INSIDE OF THE VISOR SOMEHOW MELTED/CRACKED, AND THE VISOR BECAME DISCONNECTED AND LOOSE WHILE DRIVING. I AM THANKFUL IT WAS NOT THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR, AS IT WOULD HAVE LIKELY HIT ME IN THE FACE/OBSCURED MY VISION AND POTENTIALLY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS FOR HONDA SUN VISORS; HOWEVER WHEN I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW, THEY TOLD MY MY YEAR/MODEL WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THIS VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS PUT INTO PARK AND IT MOVED FORWARD AND ALMOST STALLED. I HAD STEP ON THE BRAKE TO KEEP FROM MOVING FORWARD ANYMORE. THIS SOUND LIKE THE SAME COMPLAINT LISTED ON THE MOST RECENT RECALL MADE BY HONDA ON THE THEIR ACCORD'S AND CR-V'S.
2009 HONDA CIVIC 22,472 MILES MOSTLY FREEWAY MILES. GRINDING NOISE FROM FRONT BRAKES, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, THEY SAID I NEEDED NEW PADS AND TO HAVE THE ROTORS TURNED. INBOARD PAD (PISTON SIDE OF CALIPER) WAS WORN TO WEAR INDICATOR, OUTBOARD PAD STILL WITH APPROX. 90% PAD LIFE LEFT ALTHOUGH THERE IS A GROOVE IN THE ROTOR. TOLD DEALER THAT THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE WEAR AND HE ACKNOWLEDGED IT WAS A COMMON COMPLAINT BUT NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. A QUICK SEARCH OF COMPLAINTS ON GOOGLE AFFIRMS THAT THIS IS INDEED A COMMON COMPLAINT AND INDICATIVE OF A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW ON HONDA'S PART. *TR
Your navigation system's clock keeps resetting to January 1st, 2002 at 4:00 AM, and you can't manually change it—it reverts to 12:00 whenever you try to adjust it. This issue has affected many Honda Civics with navigation systems since January 2022.
