CLEAR COAT PEELING OFF/PAINT CRACKING AND LOOKS LIKE A CREEPING CANCER ON THE HOOD, ROOF AND TRUNK IN PARTICULAR ON MY BURGUNDY COLORED VEHICLE AND I SEE SIMILAR MODELS WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ALL OVER MY TOWN. THE PAINTING PROCESS USED WAS OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE.
THE PAINT IS PEELING ON BOTH THE ROOF AND THE TRUNK, AND IT IS GETTING WORSE AS TIME PASSES.
MY CAR HAS LARGE GRAY SPOT AROUND THE WINDOW FRAME AND ROOF TOP WHERE THE PAINT HAS FADED.
PAINT HAS DETERIORATED ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE 'BALD SPOTS' WHERE THE METAL IS EXPOSED. WE HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER HONDAS IN THIS AREA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. HONDA HAS NOT RESPONDED TO OUR REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND/OR ASSISTANCE.
BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, THE CLEAR COAT STARTED TO FLAKE OFF IN MARCH 2015. NOTICE MAY HONDA CARS ABOUT THE SAME AGE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
I PURCHASED MY HONDA ACCORD EX WITH 7 MILES ON IT, AND NOTICED OVER A YEAR, POSSIBLY LONGER, THAT THE PAINT WAS PEELING. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT THEY STATED IT WAS BECAUSE OF EPA LAWS MAKING THE PAINTS LESS EFFECTIVE. I ALSO SPENT THE EXTRA MONEY TO HAVE THE CAR SIMONIZED TO ENSURE THE PAINT WHICH WAS A WASTE OF MONEY.
EXITING VEHICLE: CHROME DRIVERS-SIDE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE HAS FLAKED, CAUSING SHARP CHROME TO STICK UP FROM THE PLASTIC UNDERNEATH. APPLYING YOUR HAND TO DOOR HANDLE CAN CUT, NOT UNLIKE STRAIGHT-EDGE RAZOR, AND MAY REQUIRE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE (STITCHES) IF DEEP AND LONG ENOUGH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT'S SHOE BECAME LODGED BETWEEN THE SIDEWALL PANEL, WHICH CAUSED THE PANEL SCREW TO BECOME LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. UPDATED 04/23/15*BF UPDATED 9/22/2017*CN
PAINT AND CLEAR COAT CHIPPING AWAY PUTTING TOXIC PAINT IN THE AIR. *TR
PAINT STARTED PEELING IN THE ROOF. CAR COLOR IS BLACK, SO THE PEELING LOOKS VISIBLE. *TR
PAINT ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS SIGNIFICANT PEELING AND IS LOSING ITS CLEAR COAT AROUND THE PEELING. *TR
THE CLEAR COAT STARTED FALLING OFF MY 05 HONDA ACCORD AT AROUND 105000 MILES (AROUND NOVEMBER OF 2012). HONDA REFUSED TO REPAINT THE VEHICLE BLAMING THE ISSUE ON THE OWNER'S POOR CARE. HOWEVER, IT IS CLEAR THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH THE OWNER, BUT RATHER WITH THE PAINT HONDA USES. THIS IS EVIDENCED BY THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN WHICH HONDA EXTENDED THE PAINT WARRANTY FOR SEVEN YEARS ON THEIR ODYSSEYS FOR DARKER COLORS INCLUDING "MIDNIGHT PEARL." IT HAPPENS THAT THIS IS THE SAME COLOR WHICH IS CURRENTLY "MELTING" OFF MY 05 ACCORD. HONDA SHOULD NOT BE MAKING OWNERS PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAINT THEIR VEHICLES AFTER OWNING THEM FOR ONLY A FEW YEARS BEFORE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS. *TR

THE CLEAR COAT STARTED TO PEEL ON THE ROOF OF MY CAR AND NOW COVERS MOST OF THE ROOF. THE PAINT ON THE REST OF THE CAR IS FINE EXCEPT THE ROOF IMPLYING THE ROOF PANEL PAINTING IS DEFECTIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRUNK COULD NOT BE OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE TRUNK BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE DEALER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO A LOCAL BODY SHOP AND THE BODY SHOP STATED THAT THEY MAY HAVE TO CUT A HOLE IN THE TRUNK IN ORDER TO OPEN THE TRUNK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 182,000. UPDATED 11/01/12 *BF UPDATED 11/1/2012 *JS
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE CABLE HAS A SMALL PLASTIC ANCHOR THAT ANCHORS THE CABLE TO TO THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL. THE PLASTIC PIECE WAS SEVERED INTO TWO PIECES BY THE METAL GRIP THAT HOLDS IT IN PLACE. THE END RESULLT IS THE PASSENGER DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. IF SOMETHING WAS TO HAPPEN AND I NEEDED TO ESACPE THE VEHICLE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE, I WOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO DO SO. I BELIEVE THE PLASTIC ANCHOR BREAKING IS A DEFECT CAUSED BY INHERENTLY BAD DESIGN OF A PLASTIC ITEM LOCKING INTO A METAL ITEM. *TR
THE CHROME COLOR PAINT/COATING ON THE INNER DOOR HANDLES OF MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD IS STARTING TO SEPARATE/PEEL AT THE SEAMS. WHILE OPENING THE DOOR, THE PEELING SEAM ON THE INNER DOOR HANDLE LACERATED MY FINGER. I HAVE CUT MYSELF 3 TIMES ON BOTH INNER FRONT DOOR HANDLES. *TR
THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE OF MY HONDA ACCORD COUPE 2005 STOPPED WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN. A PASSENGER RIDING WITH ME DISCOVERED THAT THEY COULD NOT EXIT THE CAR BECAUSE THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILED TO OPEN THE DOOR. THIS WAS A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE AND THE DOOR HANDLE NEVER WORKED AGAIN AFTER THAT POINT. THE PROBLEM WAS THE CABLE FROM THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE TO THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE HAS A DEFECTIVE PLASTIC INSERT WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE DOOR PANEL. FAILURE OF THIS PIECE RESULTS IN THE PASSENGERS OF THE VEHICLE NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THIS CREATES A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT OR ROLL-OVER. THE CABLE HOLDING THE PLASTIC INSERT HAD TO BE ORDERED AND REPLACED AFTER TAKING OFF THE DOOR PANEL. *TR
MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD BEGAN LEAKING WATER INSIDE THE CABIN FOLLOWING A RAINSTORM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEAT WAVE, THE AIR CONDITIONING IN MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID HAD STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR. I HAD ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR THREE MONTHS, SO I WAS CONFUSED AT WHY MY AIR CONDITIONING HAD GONE OUT. I TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME THAT A ROCK HAD HIT AND DAMAGED THE AC CONDENSER, CAUSING THE FREON GAS TO LEAK FROM THE CONDENSER. HE SAID THAT THE CONDENSER IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE RADIATOR AND BECAUSE OF ITS LOCATION IS WILL ALWAYS BE EXPOSED TO DEBRIS WHILE DRIVING. THE CONDENSER CAN BE SEEN THROUGH THE LARGE HOLES OF THE VENT AT THE FRONT OF THE CAR. THE MECHANIC GAVE ME A $750 ESTIMATE FOR THE PART AND LABOR. SINCE THE CAR IS A NEWER MODEL, THERE ARE NOT OLD PARTS AVAILABLE. HE ALSO INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE CONDENSER, THAT IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT THE PART WILL BE DAMAGED AGAIN AND AGAIN. THIS PART IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY $750 EVERY TIME THIS OCCURS. *TR
TRUNK LID FALLS DOWN IF NOT HELD. WHEN RAISING LID, MUST PUSH ALL THE WAY OPEN AND HOLD IN ORDER TO MAKE CERTAIN LID DOES NOT FALL. (TRUNK SPRINGS APPEAR TOO WEAK). REPORTED MATTER TO VICTORY HONDA SERVICE - PLYMOUTH. ADVISED THAT RODS WERE WORKING PROPERLY. WOULD HAVE TO SPECIAL ORDER TRUNK SPRINGS IF NEEDED. VEHICLE NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. EXAMINED SEVERAL MODELS ON DEALER LOT. SOME HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEM, SOME EVEN WORSE. LID HAD STRUCK WRITER AND DAUGHTER IN THE HEAD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. WRITER CONCERNED ABOUT INJURY FROM LID SLAMMING DOWN. *TR
HONDA ACCORD COUPE (2005) NEWLY PURCHASED 8 MONTHS AGO. THE PROBLEM: THE CAMBER IS THE ANGLE AT WHICH THE TIRE ATTACHES TO THE CAR. INCORRECT ANGLE CAUSES IRREGULAR TIRE WEAR AND CREATES PULL ON STEERING. THE IRREGULAR TIRE WARE CAUSES INCREASED MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR AS WELL AS A DRIVING HAZARD. FINAL REPORT IS THAT THERE IS NOT A FIX AND HONDA WILL NOT REPLACE THE CAR. -THE DISCOVERY OF THE PROBLEM: THE CAR HAS BEEN PULLING TO LEFT. I ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THIS ALIGNED AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP (TIME OF CARS FIRST OIL CHANGE) THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO TEST ALIGNMENT AND ALSO DID NOT INFORM ME THAT THEY DO HAVE A WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH A COMPANY THAT DOES PERFORM ALIGNMENT IT WAS ALSO TIME FOR TIRE MAINTENANCE ACCORDING THE MANUAL. THE LOCAL SERVICE MANAGER OVER LOOKED THIS BECAUSE IT WAS NOT 'HIGHLIGHTED BY THE SYSTEM". SHE STATED THIS AFTER I INQUIRED ABOUT HAVING MY TIRES ROTATED, BALANCED AND ALIGNED. SHE ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THEIR BALANCING MACHINE WAS OUT OF SERVICE AND SHE COULD NOT ASSIST ME, BUT THAT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET THINGS CORRECTED AT MY NEXT OIL CHANGE). -THEREFORE ON A FOLLOWING OIL CHANGE I WENT TO ANOTHER COMPANY FOR ALIGNMENT. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE CAMBER ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR WAS OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS AND PROVIDED A REPORT TO PROVE SO. I CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATION TO INFORM THEM OF THE PROBLEM. THEY ASKED THAT I HAVE ANOTHER TEST. I PAID FOR A SECOND REPORT SHOWING THAT THE CAMBER AND TOE IS OUT OF MANUFACTURING SPECIFICATIONS . AT THIS TIME THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS NOT A 'FIX' FOR THIS ISSUE. - I REPORTED THE FINDING TO THE HONDA CORPORATION AND ASKED TO EXPLORE THE OPTION OF RETURNING THE CAR. THEY INFORMED ME TODAY THAT I CAN NOT RETURN THE CAR. THEY CAN NOT FIX THE CAMBER. -THE INITIAL ALIGNMENT INQUIRY WAS MADE PREVIOUS TO THE 12000 MILES DURING NORMAL SERVICE CONDITIONS. NO INFORMATION WAS GIVEN TO ASSIST ME IN CORRECT THE ALIGNMENT ISSUE. *JB
2005 HONDA ACCORD EXL EXPERIENCED A BUCKLING ROOF. *MR THE CONSUMERS WIFE WAS DRIVING AND HAD RUN OVER A POT HOLE WHEN SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE. THE CONSUMER FOUND THE ROOF SEVERELY BUCKLED. THE CONSUMER HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHEN THEY FOUND OTHER 4 DOOR HONDA ACCORDS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. CURRENTLY THE CONSUMER VEHICLE HAS BIG BUCKLES IN THE ROOF. (6-8 OR BETTER) THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE, REPLACEMENT OF THE VEHICLE WITH ONE WITH CORRECTED DESIGN OR STRUCTURAL CONDITION THAT WOULD PREVENT BUCKLING IN THE FUTURE. *SC
WHILE DRIVING ON NORMAL CONDITION ROAD AT THE SPEED BETWEEN 30 MPH TO 40 MPH, RATTLE NOISES CAN BE HEARD FROM JOINT BETWEEN WINDSHIELD SCREEN AND DASHBOARD. AND RATTLE NOISE FROM BOTH DOORS.IT HAPPENS AFTER ACCERLARATING THEN RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL, WHILE CRUISING. DRIVING ON FREEWAY, AT 65MPH TO 70MPH, SUSPICIOUS NOISE FROM UNDER THE CAR, FEEL A BIT LOSE CONTROL SOMETIMES. BROUGHT TO THE DEALSHIP AND THEY REMOVED THE CLUSTER AND PANELS, PUT ON FORM TAPE. BUT NOISE STILL EXIST AFTER REPAIR.*AK
