Your car's coolant level kept dropping without any visible leaks in the hoses or lines. After refilling the coolant multiple times, your engine began to overheat and the check engine light came on. A pressure test revealed coolant was leaking into cylinder #1, which required replacing the entire engine assembly at a cost of over $10,000. This appears to be a known issue related to faulty engine design that poses fire and safety risks.

Your backup camera is malfunctioning—it turns on unexpectedly when you're in Drive or Park, and when you shift into Reverse, you see a blue screen instead of the camera feed that won't go away until you turn off the car. This prevents you from seeing behind your vehicle when reversing, which is a safety concern. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the camera wiring, connections, or the camera module itself, and may require replacement of faulty components.

Your car won't shift into different gears. The issue appears to be a broken bushing or shift cable that controls the transmission. This prevents you from changing gears, making the vehicle undrivable. The repair will likely involve replacing the damaged shift cable or bushing.

Your car makes a rattling noise that started in cold weather and while idling, and has gotten progressively worse over two years along with vibration. A Ford dealer confirmed the flex plate is the source, but it's outside of Ford's customer service program coverage due to your vehicle's age or mileage. If left unfixed, you were told the engine could stop completely, creating a safety risk.

When I put my car in reverse, the backup camera FREEZES and stays on when driving down the road. Sometimes the backup camera turns blue and stays blue when driving down the road. This increases a chance of a crash risk. My 2019 Ford Fusion is not on the recall list and should be. Mountain View Ford in Chattanooga, TN has confirmed my backup camera freezes and turns blue. This backup camera issue began approximately April 2025.
The rear backup camera when in reverse shows a blank screen. When switched to park or drive, a message appears on the screen that says camera unavailable with a warning sign. This began early June 2025. It does not happen every time but it is more often than not. I have had this looked at by a Ford authorized dealer however the problem would not arise for them to see it in action. Yes I can use my mirrors but it is useless to have a safety tool on a vehicle that is defective.
Sunroof is leaking and maybe other areas. But it’s getting the ceiling wet around front are of the sunroof and starting to effect the radio playing and eventually probably the buttons on the ceiling
My car is at 119,000 miles and 2019 ford fusion. I was driving on a local street when my cars warning popped up with a notice that my cars coolant was overheated. I immediately pulled over and turned off the car. My cars coolant tank was completely depleted. The problem was determined to be a coolant leak into cylinder 2. The check engine code of P0302 MISFIRE ON #2 CYLINDER. This issue had the potential to result in an engine fire and severe injury.
Rattling/clunking noise. When to an Auto repair shop and was told it’s the FLEXPLATE. Was told of it wasn’t fixed car would eventually stop working. No lights came on. I see 2019 ford fusion do have a recall for my specific issue.
I was notified in July of 2023 of a recall on the battery energy recall module for this vehicle. I purchased this vehicle to charge and have a gas backup. As a result of reading reports of the potential fire due to charging the vehicle and the notice to not charge the vehicle for safety reasons, I have not been able to use the battery and fuel efficiency part of this vehicle. Again, this is the reason for purchasing the vehicle and paying more for the car. I have contacted Ford and there is no fix in the near future. I am only told to continue to use the vehicle in gas mode. This is not an acceptable response and remedy for their issue. The vehicle value has now drastically reduced as no one wants to purchase a hybrid they cannot charge.
Was driving car to dealership for check signal that was appearing on my dashboard when suddenly the car stopped in the middle of the road with a knocking sound from the back and smoke filled the car and the trunk. At that point I exited the car in fear of getting caught in fire or getting struck by another vehicle. Had the car towed to a Ford dealership in Watsonville California.
We have had to replace the shifter cable bushing 2 times in the past 2 years. This seems to be an issue with the Fusions.
My fusion wont start and i have to let it sit for hours before it will start. I thought it was battery but had that replaced and had whole car checked and the firestone could find no reason why it wasnt starting. The engine light and battery showed up when it doesnt start but sends no error codes. Today i had to tow my car because me and my family pulled over to eat and got back in the car and it didnt start. This is the first time but what made it worse was having my kids in the car stuck in a part of town. I have exhausted every resource to try to figure out this problem but there is nothing. I think the cars ecu is faulty or something because it wont start again but if i wait for hours it will maybe start back up but thats not for sure. Im afraid to take this car on the highway because i think it may die while me and my family are in it and that is a big concern of safety. My car was bought brand new and under 60000 miles. There is no reason this car should be having these kind of problems. This puts alot of strain on my family and military career not saying im more important then anyone else just saying no one should have ot go through this.Yes vehicle is available for inspection if it starts
I am writing to bring to your attention a serious matter regarding the delayed resolution of a safety recall for my plug-in hybrid vehicle, a 2019 Ford Fusion Energi, with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) [XXX] . The recall in question was issued by Ford Motor Company in June 2023. As a responsible vehicle owner, I promptly responded to the recall notice and attempted to address the safety concern with my vehicle. Unfortunately, Ford has been unable to remedy the issue in a timely manner, and this situation is causing considerable inconvenience, financial losses, and most importantly, concerns about my safety and the safety of others on the road. My plug-in hybrid vehicle, which typically boasts an electric-only range of 26 miles when fully charged, has been rendered unable to charge due to the safety recall. Given that I charge my vehicle daily, this has resulted in 154 days, or 4,004 miles, of forced reliance on the gasoline engine. This not only contradicts the purpose and efficiency of a plug-in hybrid but has also led to approximately $300 worth of wasted gasoline, calculated using the IRS mileage reimbursement rate. Furthermore, the anxiety and stress associated with driving a vehicle under recall are substantial. I am worried each time I get into my car that it may catch fire or suddenly stall while I am on the road. This not only impacts my daily life but also compromises the safety of myself, passengers, and fellow motorists. I kindly request the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's intervention to ensure a swift and effective resolution to this matter. The delay in remedying the safety recall not only undermines the purpose of owning a plug-in hybrid but also places the safety of consumers at risk. I trust that the NHTSA will investigate this matter thoroughly and take the necessary steps to ensure a timely and satisfactory resolution. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The current unresolved recall has impacted me numbered 23S33. This issue has impacted me since June 16 2023 and I have received minimal compensation. Due to rising gas prices in California, my inability to charge my car for my typical usage which was covered by the battery, and the higher purchase price I paid for this car, this recall has significantly impacted me.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO PULL TO THE LEFT AS AN ABNORMAL NOISE BEGAN EMITTING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE THEN INDEPENDENTLY TURNED TO LEFT AND HIT THE BARRIER WALL ON A BRIDGE WITHOUT WARNING. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. HER DAUGHTER SUSTAINED NO MAJOR INJURIES, ONLY MINOR SORENESS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TWICE TO TWO DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH A DEALER (JENKINS & WYNNE FORD, HONDA, & LINCOLN 2655 TRENTON RD, CLARKSVILLE, TN 37040) WHO INFORMED HER THAT THERE WERE NO ACTIVE RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
BOUGHT THE CAR LESS THAN 30 DAYS AGO. WASHING THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND NOTICED A HAIRLINE CRACK ON THE OUTSIDE ABOUT 4-5 INCHES LONG. NO DAMAGES OF A ROCK HITTING THE WINDSHIELD.
3 WEEKS AFTER I LEASED THE VEHICLE NEW, THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERED WITHOUT ANYTHING HITTING IT. IT IS NOW 3 MONTHS LATER AND I ABOVE 7500 MILES ON THE CAR AND WHILE SITTING IN STOPPED TRAFFIC THE BACK GLASS EXPLODED ON ITS OWN. FORD CORPORATE ONLY ACCEPTED PHOTOS TAKEN AND SUBMITTED BY THE DEALERSHIP TO REVIEW THE CLAIM AFTER TELLING ME A 'TECHNICIAN WILL DETERMINE' WHAT HAPPENED. FORD SAID GLASS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT I UNDERSTAND BUT I AM MODE CONCERNED OF THE OVERALL SAFETY OF THE CAR AFTER THIS HAPPENED. 2 PHONE REPS AND THEIR SUPERVISOR REPEATEDLY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, TOLD ME IT IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, AND THERE IS NO OTHER PHONE NUMBER OR DEPARTMENT I CAN CONTACT TO FURTHER PURSUE THIS ISSUE.
I WAS DRIVING A AVIS RENTAL CAR - FORD FUSION 2019 IN AN INTERSTATE FROM CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE TO DALTON, GEORGIA. I SAW AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN ALL OF A SUDDEN (LIKE COMMUNICATION ERROR) AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF, ALL LIGHTS TURNED OFF AND SEAT STARTED MOVING BACK. IT WAS ALMOST 15 - 20 SECONDS AND I WAS TERRIFIED TO JUST KEEP THE CAR ON MIDDLE LANE AND NOT TO BE HIT BY SOMEONE FROM BEHIND. THE GUY WHO WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT PUSHED THE START BUTTON AND IT STARTED AND I MANAGED TO DRIVE LAST 5 MILES TO REACH HOTEL. I CALLED AVIS ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE IMMEDIATELY ON RETURN TO HOTEL AND ASKED THEM TO RECORD THIS ISSUE. I ALSO INFORMED THE RETURN CAR ATTENDANT WHEN I RETURNED TODAY AT AVIS ATLANTA AIRPORT.
