2017 Ford Fusion Steering Problems

Car warning states “steering assist fault service required” total loss of power steering in the vehicle after sat parked for a week, vehicle started without issue, no warning codes can be found with OBDII scanner

I drove about 11 miles total to get on the interstate, when I was about 7-9miles into my drive, my steering wheel started to lock up. I slammed on my breaks, and kept twisting and turning my steering wheel for about 2 miles to the nearest gas station. I had tons of lights pop up on my dash and they said my steering system is failed.

On the highway we lost the steering assist function. The dash lit up with steering assist failure. Due to this system failing on the highway, I almost had an accident while in a turn, I went across the rumble strips toward the wall and just barley missed hitting the wall.

Turning into my neighborhood at about 10-15 MPH the left wheel and hub fell off causing the car to crash into the pavement. This caused alot of damage to the front bumper and fenders. And the linkage to the right wheel.

Was driving on the highway at 65 MPH and lights popped up on dash lose of steering stop car safely in high traffic and basically lost all power steering and ability to control the car almost crashed into a semi. With pregnant girl in the passenger seat.

I just purchased this vehicle from a private dealer (american car center in ga). In less than 2 days the error message popped up. They wont fix the issue and ford wants me to pay to get it on the computer to see whats wrong with it.

Regarding manufacturer's recall number 18s08 (steering wheel separates from the steering column. I called the local ford dealer in lynbrook, ny to have the safety repair and was informed on 3/21 that ford had not sent the parts and that they were not expected for "months." I then called ford's national customer service line to complain about the safety issue.

The steering wheel became loose and had an extreme amount of play in it. I took it in to the dealer to have it checked and repaired. They took care of it with no problem.

Steering wheel is loose. This is more movement than vibrating. It is loose whether car is moving or still.

Yesterday I was parked at work, I got into my car and my service advance trac light and steering assist fault light came on. My steering wheel was locked and I could not turn the wheel. I had no warning and no problems leading up to this.
