My car's backup camera screen goes blue then black with message saying camera unavailable when I am in the middle of backing up my car. I literally almost hit a family passing at grocery store because of this. I bought this car this year in February from Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet.

The 6F35 transmission in my vehicle is shuddering and it seems like it’s going to possibly mess up my engine or anything else soon. It also jerks a bit forward from 0-25 along with gears slipping. This has almost caused an accident for me.

This complaint form is in regards to the backup camera. In the last six months I had intermittent loss of its function while backing up. However the problem in the last month is now a persistent loss of the image when backing up.

vehicle "slips" with acceleration and antifreeze is leaking in engine block which is a documented recurrent issue with ecoboost engine. I am fearful for safety as noted fire hazard which has been stated in past and is documented as part of lawsuit for same engine in Canada/US.

While my family and I were returning from lunch and pulling into a parking space at my moms apartment complex, my 2015 Ford escape SE eco-boost, had a sudden unintentional acceleration where it basically accelerated forward and we hit a building. During this, the brakes were unresponsive, and there was building and vehicle damage. Luckily, the post to the building prevented us from driving through the entire building. I have read several reports of the Ford escape experiencing this exact problem. We are lucky we were not killed. Ford has had no recalls for this very deadly issue.

I started noticing coolant leakage. Then while driving I have been getting a warning say “engine to hot stop vehicle immediately safely.” Then from there it would go into another warning. This 1 saying “vehicle will not operate at full power.” And the car would not go past 40mhp.

Car caught fire when I was not in it period from what I have read there was a carbon monoxide leak in the front cabin in many of these cars that could spontaneously combust which is what happened.

Car was parked and turned off after a 10 minute trip. The car started smoking under the hood on the driver side near the windshield and eventually caught fire.

Vehicle was in motor on a city street, the problem was that it would not come to a complete stop after just hitting the accelerator. To better describe this, it was rush hour traffic and traffic was moving very slow so I would have to hit the breaks after just hitting the breaks to move forward. This resulted in an accident where I rear ended the person in front of me.

My stereo screen went blank and I had a new stereo installed but was told the rear camera in my vehicle is defective and was under recall. When I checked with Ford, I was advised my particular vehicle did not qualify. Also, my instrument panel just went blank.

I drove at 60 MPH during rush hour on a very crowded highway. I tried to accelerate, but I was losing speed. My RPM was working, but I was not accelerating.

Stalls randomly, usually after idling for a period of time. Have changed throttle body and perge valve , was an issue on older models but no recall for the 15 and up for a harness issue

First problem- over the course of the last few years, the car intermittently gets "jumpy" when changing to/from different gears like (from reverse to drive OR drive to reverse, all after completely braking-not in the middle of gear shift). It has not completely stalled but feels very close to it. I had brought it in in the past and they had never found anything wrong with it.

I am having problems with stalling. I have had the map sensor replaced, the purge valve system done twice and the fuel pump was replaced. This car was built in december 2014.

While traveling on the interstate in our 2015 ford escape titanium, we began to exit and found we had no brakes. We had to utilize the parking brake in order to bring the car to a stop. We took the car to a ford dealership for repairs.

Starting on the evening of january 9, 2020, my car would stall when idling. After restarting, and while driving home; the car stalled several more times. I was able to drive to and from work on friday, january 10, 2020 however after picking my daughter up, the car started stalling when idling, and it continued to stall.

With no warning my 2015 edge sport, with only 20,700 miles, suddenly lost power (died) and a lighted wrench appeared on dashboard with"'hill assist"?. Fortunately no vehicles were immediately behind and I was able to safely coast to the side. I was then able to re-start the engine.

The rear-view camera hasn't worked for several months. I was going to get it repaired until I received the recall letter in October of 2025. I use this when backing up and need to see how far from the vehicle behind me is.

The rear view camera on my vehicle has not worked for months. 99% of the time I reverse, camera is blacked out and says to visit dealership. The 1% that it works, half the time it'll show an inverted view.

The transmission just failed. No warning lights or anything. I was just driving along and it started to flutter then it hesitated and went into limp mode.

Backup camera - this vehicle not included in the recall as is having all the same issues blank screen - inverted screen - works sometimes - this has been an issue for some time and I contacted the ford dealer I use who states the repair is over 400. and do not know why this vehicle has not been included in the recall.

The rear camera goes in and out all the time. Sometimes it doesn't work at all! Such a safety concern that needs to be addressed!

The rear back up camera is malfunctioning/not working intermittently. Sometimes it works, and then glitches out and is gone, other times it is a completely black screen. This started approximately 4-6 weeks ago.

The backup camera in my vehicle displays an inverted and distorted image, identical to the defect described in Ford’s existing recall. However, my vehicle has been excluded from that recall, and Ford has refused to repair the issue. This defect creates a significant safety hazard by impairing rear visibility and making backing up more dangerous.

The back up assist camera only works part of the time. It will come on for a few seconds and then go off.

The camera goes on and off. Sometimes as you reverse the camera is working then suddenly goes black. There is no direct pinpoint to when the camera stopped working properly but poses a risk when using to reverse and suddenly goes black

Catastrophic Hood Latch Assembly breakage. Assembly came off car. The Hood then flew back onto windshield completely destroying it. Safety Latch was also detached. Hood latch Assembly was on top of motor after car was stopped. There were no warnings lamps, messages or any other symptoms of this problem prior to failure. The car has not been inspected by anyone yet, but there are photos showing the damage and the parts are also available for inspection. Safety concerns: Hood coming back on to windshield due to this parts failure could cause catastrophic injuries or death especially at interstate speeds.

I have a problem with paint fading on the top of my vehicle of which I called Ford Motor Company and they referred me to contact NHTSA. I believe this is a Ford problem to work with me about this issue. The fading out is in pattern which is very unusual. I have had two other Ford vehicles longer than this one and more mileage and did have any problems with paint. Ford is claiming that I had five years to report this; however this started a few months ago. I will appreciate any assistance or guidance that you can offer me with this issue. Ford also stated that this was not a recall issue. Whether or not this paint was not a recall list or not it does indicate that the paint is defective from the factory.. Again, I welcome any suggestions or guidance with this matter. The attached pictures shows a portion of the top of the roof on the vehicle, the entire roof is defective from front to back and is in a pattern. tThanks

Back Up Camera, I have reported it before several times and was given a #OD11583257 it's been over 6-9 months and still have heard back absolutely nothing from anyone and was told someone would contact me, it's very dangerous and have had many close calls. When I told the Ford location that I bought it, they told me there were other 2015 Ford Escapes that had been recalled with the same problem but my VIN number was NOT one of them, I don't understand and would like to have it fixed - so how do I go about that.. The transmission went out on the vehicle.

I was stopped at a stop light and when it turned green and I stepped on the gas the engin reved up but the car would not move. I looked down to see if the gear shift had been moved and when I saw it had not I stepped on the gas again and this time slowly moved and then jerked to a stop. I stepped on the gas again and it started rolling and the spead up so that it peeled out and then jerked to a stop again. I was right by a Les Swab and very slowly was able to pull into their parking lot. I had just had my breaks done and thought maybe something went wrong with them. They checked and said it was the transmission. I was afraid to try to drive it so I towed it home. After seeing other Ford Escape transmissions haveing issues and being recalled I wanted to report this. It sounds just like the complaints that are listed for the recalled transmissions. After checking with a local transmission shop they told me they had replaced 3 of these transmissions in the last month. So I know a lot of people do not look into this kind of stuff but I want someone to know this was very scary for me and if there had been another car close to me there could have been a accident.

Vehicle was inspected by third party shop and a Ford Dealership. Both indicated that this is a manufacturer error and should be considered a recall. Lots of different Ford models have experienced this manufacturing error and this issue was considered a recall.

Climate Control Housing is broken. Air will not come out of the face vents. This caused me to overheat because the AC could not cool me off while driving.

The vehicle with this VIN was blocking access to a federal building on 7/30/24, DURING BUSINESS HOURS, and I have photographic proof with a date and time stamp.

Transmission failure without warning leaving me stranded on a busy off ramp. Very dangerous situation state police had me towed costing me 430.00. Dealership determined the car needed a new transmission. Vehicle has been repaired.

My transmission is slipping and won’t change gears consistently.I bought it in for recall work but it seems like the issue wasn’t fixed 2015 Ford escape

When driving on the freeway The car all of the sudden stop indicating TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. It had a recall 22S43/NTHSA22V413 and suppose Ford fix it but its doing it again. On July 7, 2023 [XXX] told me to take it back but as of July 25, 2023 still have not been fixed.

Unsuccessful correction of recall of instrument panel. The panel flickered shortly after we purchased in 2018 and have been told by Ford dealer the manufacturer replaced with the same part that was malfunctioning. They will only attempt to correct the problem one time.

I took my 2015 Ford Escape to Gary Yeomans Ford Ocala for 2 recall items and they wanted to charge me for the recall items. My VIN#[XXX] Making me pay for recall items is illegal and they should be prosecuted. IMHO Where can I go to have the recall items fixed without having to pay for them?

Horn works intermittently

Back up camera is blacking out and/or distorting more than half the time it's in use. The problem is intermittent. It's the exact same issue as already Recalled for newer Ford vehicles.

The vehicles rear view camera works intermitantly - sometimes it is blank, or upside down and sometimes it works - as I saw they are recalling 2019 models with the issue I think my 2015 model has the same issue. Please issue a recall on this model aswell thank you

Wipers extend beyoun windshield uncontrollable shake and twitch won't return to home. Replace steering column controller to no effect t.. What is cause this.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford escape. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle loss motive power without warning and independently restarted. The vehicle was taken to repair facility elite automotive llc located at 6113 enterprise dr, maineville, oh 45039, to be diagnosed.

A recall was made for the doors on my 2015 ford escape. I had these issues last year, made a complaint to NHTSA and got no response. I paid for the issues to be fixed.

Faulty instrument cluster - inoperative display - blank multiple function display (mfd) and non-functioning warning chimes. Messages and warning lights. Unable to read speedometer, odometer, door ajar, tires low etc on display panel.

Lost ability to put shifting lever in drive, neutral, or reverse. Took several tries to put shifting lever back into park. Only option was to tow the vehicle.

I have a door latch problem. Looked it up and found that in sep 2016 a saftey recall was put out by ford for the door latches for 2013 - 2015 ford escapes. I tried to explain this to the dealership service center and they do not have this recall listed.

Transmission appear to have a delay when attempting to increase speed. You press the gas but the car just sits in an idle mode and after a bit it catches up with itself but make a loud noise and jolts the car aggressively. This happens on city street and highway when I am trying to accelerate.

The tiny piece that connects the shifting cable to the transmission broke. I had the cable replaced ($900 repair) and the plastic piece broke again about 2 weeks later. The plastic piece is not made to be replace meaning the whole cable must be replaced so the engine must be lifted out for the repair.

When the car is parked with engine off and rear hatch open, the rear hatch sometimes automatically closes. While loading the car with groceries, for example, the hatch came down and hit me or someone else in the head or shoulder. This has happened more than once.

16v-643 recall. Dealers tell me they can't get me in until march. 1 dealer won't do weekends because they day it's a 4 hour job and only open 4 hours.

Ford issued the recall via us mail october 2016, for a side door latch. As of now ford has done nothing to provide parts or service to correct the problem. The dealership said they had parts and I scheduled for repair onlt to find they did not have the parts.....pathetic.

Purchased 2015 escape on may 1, 2015. February 2016 windshield wiper fluid would not work. Took to the dealership to find that a squirrel had nested under the hood and chewed the lines as well as a part on the pump for the wiper fluid while it was parked in the driveway.

Was pulling out of a parking lot and heard a noise(I described the noise like a rock hitting the glass) looked at my windshield and didn't see anything. Went home and parked my car in the garage. Got in the car a couple days later and got in the car, started the car and my sunroof went back about an inch and shattered glass feel into the car.

A few months ago I received a letter in the mail concerning my vehicles backup camera being requested for a recall and that a replacement will be sent over. At this time I still don’t have the replacement backup camera.

Rear view camera image is inverted and as I've been driving over 40 years, it's a nice feature, but after seeing all the recalls for this issue and mine is not included yet has failed in a similar way.

The transmission although it was well maintained it failed. Began to shutter the car and no acceleration which meant it was basically undrivable considering how unreliable these transmissions are I’m not surprised it stopped working

Car goes into reverse, electrical issues

The Sunroof spontaneously shattered while I was driving home. Upon further inspection, it looked like the glass was becoming separated from the frame as well.

When stepping on the gas the SUV is hesitating to move forward, it is shifting very high and having a hard time shifting into gear. Transmission issues

2015 ford escape. Consumer writes in regard to NHTSA safety recall 20v-22.

Shifter is stuck, not able to maneuver safely. I will take my car tomorrow to an auto center to fix it.

The bushing to my vehicle unattached itself while I was in the car and my 6 year old child. The car continued to roll forward although I tried to hold the brakes down and it would not go into park. I had to use the emergency brakes to keep the vehicle from continuing to roll forward.

The transmission shift cable bushing on my 2015 Ford Escape deteriorated and failed. The car indicates that it is in PARK but it is actually in gear and will roll freely but can not be cranked. There has been a recall for this exact same problem on the 2013 and 2014 versions of this same vehicle as well as some other Ford vehicles.

Ecoboost failed. Car would not accelerate while I was on a highway. Car went from 67 MPH down to 35.

Cabin gas smell when driving

Coolant bypass valve constantly melts away I have to replace it every 2 moths

I brought my car last year about 4 months ago it started me to many problems started smelling gas when I put the gas it don't start I take it to the shop they get to fix I cost me now I take it to ford shop they told me that I have transmission I need the new one

The bushing that attaches the transmission shifter cable to the transmission degraded over time and caused the bushing to detach from the transmission. This caused me to be able to move the shift lever to park and turn car off, while the transmission was stuck in reverse with no warning message or audible chime.

Air conditioner sporadically blows slightly cool air, instead of cold air, when driving on city or highway. No discernible timing or conditions that might be underlying factors.

When attaching a trailer to hitch, several times the automatic tailgate would attempt to close without warning. On one encounter, the tailgate actually hit me in the head, (before opening back up) as it closed on me while loading groceries. The 2015 ford escape has the "hands-free" tailgate.

I start the car and let it warm up for 5 - 6 minutes befor putting it in drive . As I pull away its shuts off. I let it run again sotting in a parked position.

In the evening on 9/4/18 I had been sitting in my car, which was parked and turned off, waiting for about 30 minutes to pick up my son. I had recently purchased the care as a used vehicle on 8/13/18. I had the car key fob in my left jeans pocket.

Upon utilizing the remote key fog to unlock the vehicles drivers door, the door handle fell off when I attempted to open the door in the parking lot of a business after returning returning to my vehicle from shopping.

When I purchased the vehicle this recall was already in affect

We purchased our 2015 ford escape new, it is still under the manufactures warranty and it is equipped with the foot (motion) activated rear lift gate. On 05/03/2017, I went to the grocery store and the vehicle was parked. I was loading groceries from the shopping cart to the vehicle.

Jwhen we were turning into our carport, the car suddenly accelerated and almost caused the car to run into our house. However, I was able to put on the brake and stop it in time. I am afraid this will happen again and will cause damage or worse.
