2015 Ford Escape Engine Problems

Your check engine light came on due to a misfire in cylinder 2. When you tried to replace the spark plugs, they were stuck and wouldn't come out. The dealership found that coolant had leaked into the cylinder, and they said the entire engine needs to be replaced. This repair costs more than your vehicle's value.

Engine began giving white smoke from exhaust at start up. 2 Mechanics have checked it and said it’s a well Known coolant intrusion issue with these ford eco boost engines. High risk of overheating and engine failure (while driving, which is a major safety risk for my family).

I took my escape to the dealer because of no heat on a Tuesday they filled the antifreeze because it was low I drove it on Thursday then on Friday I had to have it towed to the dealer because all of the antifreeze was on yhe ground I guess there's a problem with the eco boost escapes I believe it has the same problem

Anyway I took your advice and followed your directions and made contact with Ford motor corporation they do have some sort of a file on my situation which is the same as all of the other recalled cars with dangerous and faulty motors and should be part of this recall for Engine replacement or another source of compensation or transportation that I am entitled to for this issue with my representative that I spoke to at Ford Motor Co. Recall acknowledges the situation and Well move ahead with my case But my issue with my defective dangerous faulty engine is no different then the other engines. they are all defective and dangerous and unsafe to the driver and family’s and other motorist on the road as well as the general public and the representative I was speaking with that was handling Or try to start a claim she agreed as well as started to advance my claim or case to a higher source of authority this is a follow up for you from me and Ford motor Corp. At this point I cannot get any more information because I do not have the resources that AutoNation Ford has. in regards to And for numbers and emails and contact information at Ford motor corporation it is supposed to be handled from what I understand between Ford motor corporation and AutoNation Ford dealership where my car is located and has been sitting for 9 months now. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AFTER FUELING I NOTICED WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE MY CAR STALLS. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ARE ON AND CAR IS SERVICED REGULARLY. BUT,ONE DAY AFTER FUELING 15 MINUTES LATER ,WHILE DRIVING MY CAR STALLS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON. I DROVE STRAIGHT TO AUTO ZONE AMD OREILY’S TO GET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE READ. THEY BOTH COME BACK AS FAULTY EVAP PURGE SOLENOID. I SAW THAT THE FORD FOCUS IN THE SAME YEAR HAS HAD THERE EVAP SOLENOIDS RECALLED. COULD IT BE POSSIBLE THE FORD ESCAPES EVAP SOLENOIDS NEED TO BE RECALLED AS WELL??

The engine in my 2015 Ford Escape failed due to coolant intrusion leading to the long block and coolant system needing to be replaced. The problem was diagnosed by the Ford service technician and Ford service advisor when it was taken in for service after the heating system stopped working, the car started lurching when driven, and then the engine light turned on. If I had not taken my Escape in immediately, it was at risk of catching fire. The coolant had completely emptied into the engine and had corroded a spark plug to the point that it was stuck in the engine.

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the engine had experienced coolant intrusion and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 135,283.

Coolant intrusion on the engine block which is causing misfires. Issue was confirmed by an independent service center.

The engine failed at 96,000 miles and we had it replaced with a new engine. Then at 131,000 miles the dealer stated that the engine has failed again and needs to be replaced because there is some delaminating happening in the engine. The 1.6L ecoboost engine is known for early failure. The new engine is only 3 months out of warranty and Ford will do nothing to assist in the engine replacement.

The engine suffered a catastrophic failure on 11/26/2024 with coolant leaking into the engine producing a white noxious smoke from the exhaust, engine overheating, and engine misfires. I have been having issues with coolant loss for over a year now. After doing research online I'm seeing this is a really common problem for Escapes and other models built around the same time frame. I believe this issue is with Ford and they should be responsible to fix it, considering all the evidence supporting how common of an issue this is.

Transmission slips and is a safety hazard for my family unknown when it's in p or D no indication

Vehicle had a new Ford manufactured motor put in, while driving since the new motor was put in, it developed a knock and at one point started smoking. Luckily we were in town and at a lower speed we were able to pull into a parking lot and turn it off. We were unable to tell where the smoke was coming from.

My car has never been able to pick up speed when I need to accelerate onto the highway. It takes much longer to gain speed than much older cars I've had like the 89 Silverado or 2001 Durango. I will Floor the gas to gain acceleration, and it's like I was still pushing the gas for 30 to 40 MPH.

After fueling it would sputter and almost turn off while stopped at traffic lights. March 11 2021 engine light came on and it did turn off while at traffic light. Took to mechanic diagnostic reading was purge valve.

The added remote start works. However, when you open any door to get in the escape...the engine shuts off. I would think that this would increase the wear and tear on the engine, starter, and the ignition due to the fact that your having to restart the vehicle again.
