THE CAR HAS TWICE LOST POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. THE RED WARNING LIGHT COMES ON THE CAR LOSES POWER BUT THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES REMAIN FUNCTIONAL. THE CAR WAS ON RECALL FOR THIS EXACT THING AND I TOOK THE CAR IN. THE DEALER TELLS ME I HAVE THE BRUSHLESS COOLANT PUMP SO IT'S NOT DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE MOTOR ELECTRONICS COOLANT PUMP AND HE'S NOT REPLACING IT. BUT IT'S STILL DOING IT AND NOTHING ELSE IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 70 MILES AN HOUR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE RECALL WAS ALREADY PERFORMED ON APRIL 1, 2015. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.

WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THIS AND OUR OTHER 2006 FORD ESCAPE HYBRID INCLUDING HAVING TO REPLACE CV AXLE'S IN BOTH VEHICLES, ENGINE ALERTS IN A LIMP HOME OPERATION OR COMPLETELY DYING OR STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND: REAR RIGHT DOOR ALARM HAS BEEN COMING ON CONSISTENTLY IN HOT WEATHER SERVICE EMISSIONS WARNING CAME ON AND THESE CODES CAME UP: C1524 ' BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL SENSOR CALIBRATION NOT COMPLETE C1218 ' LAMB ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING OUTPUT CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION (THIS CODE CAME UP IN 4/2016 AS WELL SOMEONE SAYS IT COULD BE A BULB BURNED OUT P0126 ' COOLANT THERMOSTAT TEMPERATURE BELOW THERMOSTAT REGULATING (TWICE) P0685 ' ENGINE CONTROL MODULE POWERTRAIN CONT. POWER RELAY CIRCUIT /OPEN WHILE DRIVING, BOTH CARS HAVE FAILED AND MANY TIMES FORD SERVICE WOULD SPEND OVER 3 WEEKS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH OUR VEHICLES. AFTER AROUND 3 WEEKS, FAIRWAY FORD OF KINGSPORT, TN'S MECHANIC, BOB, NOTIFIED ME THAT IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND A P1A0C CODE, WHICH COSTS ALMOST $1,000 TO REPLACE. DESPITE THIS RECALL, WHEN I ASKED FORD SERVICE AT TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS THEY SAID NO BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IN FACT, AT ONE DEALERSHIP, I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK WITH A DAMAGED WINDOW AND THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR IT AS WELL. I'M ASKING FOR AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS DEFECT, A RECALL TO BE ISSUED AND FOR FORD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR SINCE THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE IN THESE VEHICLES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS FAULTY. THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL FLOW INDICATOR AND SENSORS WERE ALL REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL NOT GO DOWN/FORWARD AT FIRST (ONCE LASTED ABOUT 45 MINUTES) ON COLD MORNINGS. WHY HASN'T THIS YEAR/MAKE/MODEL BEEN RECALLED LIKE 2006? I'VE BEEN LATE FOR WORK SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS. I LOVE THE CAR OTHERWISE.
I TURNED A CORNER AND WAS ONLY GOING 20 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE WENT DEAD. I HAD NO CONTROL SO LUCKILY I WASN'T GOING FAST. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED. ONE MECHANIC SAID MY COILS AND SPARK PLUGS WERE BAD BECAUSE OF THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR MALFUNCTION. SECOND OPINION - THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED OR REPLACED. THIRD OPINION - ALL OF THE ABOVE. IT COSTS $1900 AND TWO TOW BILLS ($275). THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD BEEN ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THE ONLY CODE WAS THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR HIGH INPUT (P0193 GENERIC). *TR
TWO REGULAR ONGOING ISSUES......WHEN DRIVING, IF FOOT IS TAKEN OFF GAS PEDAL TO EASE UP SPEED, GAS PEDAL THEN STICKS AS IF SOMETHING IS BLOCKING IT (NOTHING IS BLOCKING), NO AMOUNT OF PRESSING WILL MOVE IT, AFTER SOME SECONDS OR A MINUTE, IT WILL FUNCTION AGAIN. HAPPENS MOST OFTEN WHEN COLD, OR WHEN JUST STARTING OUT. CAR CONTINUES TO DECELERATE UNTIL THE GAS PEDAL BEGINS TO FUNCTION AGAIN. SECOND ISSUE.......ENGINE LIGHT WITH CODE P0455 IS ON MOST OF THE TIME, GAS CAP LOOSE LIGHT WILL ALSO COME ON , REPLACING GAS CAP DID NOT HELP. *TR
WE FIRST EXPERIENCED THE STICKING GAS PEDAL IN MAYBE 2008. WE BROUGHT IT TO HAWK FORD IN OAK LAWN, ILL AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR TRUCK.. THIS PROBLEM CONTINUED ON AND OFF FOR YEARS. THE LAST STRAW WAS WHEN MY HUSBAND HAD TO DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES WITH HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE GAS PEDAL TO GET TO OUR HOUSE. I HAD PREVIOUSLY REPORTED THIS LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION TO YOUR DATABASE A FEW YEARS AGO. I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL CASES OVER THE YEARS WITH THE 2005 FORD ESCAPE SEEMING TO IDLE VERY-VERY LOW AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE (FOR INSTANCE FROM A STOP SIGN) THE ACCELERATION IS VERY VERY SLOW AND THEN RAMPS UP AFTER A FEW SECONDS.THIS OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY BUT REGULARLY AND DESPITE TAKING IT TO SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS, NONE HAVE MANAGED TO PROVIDE A REASONABLE EXPLANATION BUT HAVE ALL RECOGNIZED IT. RECENTLY I HAVE NOTICED ISSUES, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS, OF THE VEHICLE "SHUDDERING" AS IF THE BRAKES ARE HAVING TROUBLE SLOWING THE VEHICLE WHICH IM CONCERNED MAY BE FROM THE THROTTLE NOT DISENGAGING PROPERLY WHEN RELEASED (ALMOST LIKE ITS STUCK OR FROZEN). WE HAVE RECENTLY IN MY REGION OF THE COUNTRY BEEN EXPERIENCING A FEW COLD SNAPS AND THAT BRINGS ME TO THE MOST RECENT ISSUE. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO USE THE VEHICLE TODAY, I NOTICED THAT THE ACCELERATOR SEEMED "STUCK" OR FROZEN. I DEPRESSED IT A FEW TIMES, NO LUCK AS IT SEEMED "FROZEN". I TOOK IT TO MEAN THAT THE COLD (IT GOT DOWN BELOW 15* F. IN GEORGIA) AND LET IT RUN FOR A BIT TO WARM. I PUSHED ACCELERATOR AND IT SEEMED UNSTUCK. I PUT IN REVERSE AND ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BACKWARDS. I FOUND THE PEDAL WOULD NOT COME OFF THE FLOORBOARD. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND AFTER LOOKING AT THE PEDAL, I WAS ABLE TO MOVE IT FREELY AND LOOKING AT THE CONNECTION I THOUGHT IT HAD BROKEN OR BECAME DISCONNECTED. I CAME BACK FROM WORK AFTER GETTING RIDE FROM WIFE AND WENT TO INSPECT IT. THE PEDAL THIS TIME ACTED AS EXPECTED ALTHOUGH I COULD HEAR SQUEAKING AND IT THUMPED WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES. IT SEEMS THAT THE COD HAD FROZEN SOMETHING OR EXACERBATED WHATEVER WAS CAUSING ISSUES IN GENERAL. I CALLED FORD AND THEY MENTIONED SOMETHING HAD BEEN DONE IN 06 AND THEN I READ ARTICLE ABOUT 17 YEAR OLD WHO DIED AFTER HER ESCAPE THROTTLE BECAME STUCK IN A SIMILAR WAY AFTER HAVING A RECENT REPAIR. *TR
BACKING OUT OF GARAGE CAR DIED. TRYING TO ACCELERATE AT STOP LIGHTS TRIES TO DIE HESITATES JERKS THEFT LIGHT CONES ON. UPON TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO ENTER FREEWAY SAME THING AND WHEN TRYING TO PASS A CAR. CAME UPON S HILL AND IT ALMOST DIED N WOULD NOT GO OVER 50 MPH ALMOST CAUSING WRECKS VERY SCARY DAY. EARLIER IN WEEK DIED A COUPLE TIMES WHILE IDLING BUT THIS ACCELERATING PROBLEM IS HAZARDOUS. IF IT IS THROTTLE BODY WHICH IT PROBABLY IS FROM WHAT I'M READING ON THE INTERNET. FROM A STOP THIS VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE. IT IS INTERMITTENT, BUT WHEN IT OCCURS YOU UNABLE TO PRESS THE THROTTLE. IT IS JAMMED. IT SEEMS IF I PLACE THE GEAR SHIFT BACK INTO PARK THEN TO DRIVE IT WILL BE FREE AGAIN AND DRIVE NORMALLY. THIS STARTED HAPPENING ONCE IN A WHILE YEARS AGO, BUT SEEMS TO BE OCCURRING A LOT MORE FREQUENTLY NOW. *TR
SEVERAL MONTHS AGO I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED. IT HAD ONLY ABOUT 70,000 MILES ON IT. I AM THE SECOND OWNER HAVE FILLED IT WITH GAS SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE NOTICED THAT WE CANNOT KEEP THE NOZZLE ON FULL BECAUSE THE GAS BACKS UP IN THE FILLER TUBE AND THE FUEL NOZZLE SHUTS-OFF. SOMETIMES WE CAN'T EVEN PUT IT ON THE AUTOMATIC LOW. WE MUST SIT THERE AND KEEP SQUEEZING THE NOZZLE UNTIL IT SHUTS OFF, AND THEN SQUEEZE THE HANDLE AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) ON THIS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT FORD INCORRECTLY DESIGNED THE FILLER TUBE. APPARENTLY IT IS TOO NARROW. SO NOW THEY HAVE A REDESIGNED TUBE THAT IS LARGER IN DIAMETER. BUT SINCE THIS CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, FORD WON'T FIX IT, AND THIS AIN'T SOME EASY INEXPENSIVE FIX...IT COSTS OVER $800 TO DO IT. YOU GOT TO DROP THE TANK. THE NEW CORRECT PART COSTS $300, AND THE LABOR IS ABOUT $500. WHAT YOU NHTSA FOLKS DON'T SEEM TO REALIZE IS THAT IS POTENTIALLY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT COULD ALLOW CONSUMERS TO BE SPLASHED WITH GASOLINE IF THE FUEL NOZZLE SHUT-OFF SYSTEM FAILS, BECAUSE FUEL SHUT-OFF SYSTEM FAILS ALL THE TIME. I HAVE PERSONALLY WITNESSED THIS SEVERAL TIMES...WITH GAS OVERFLOWING OTHER PEOPLES CARS. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE MUST REMAIN AT THE CAR WHILE FILLING IT...THESE AUTOMATIC NOZZLES FAIL ALL THE TIME. THIS FUEL FILLING SYSTEM ISSUE IS A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM, CONSUMERS MUST NOT BE REQUIRED TO RELY ON OTHER SAFETY SYSTEMS, BECAUSE THOSE SYSTEMS WILL FAIL. FORD DESIGNED A DEFECTIVE FUEL FILLER SYSTEM, AND NHTSA MUST MAKE FORD FIX THEM, AT FORD'S EXPENSE' IF NHTSA IS UNWILLING TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC FROM UNREASONABLE RISK...THEN WHAT GOOD ARE THEY? ANYTHING THAT POTENTIALLY INVOLVES CONSUMERS GETTING SPLASHED WITH GASOLINE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD PERIOD. *TR
WITHIN 1/4 MILE OF STARTING AND DRIVING FROM HOME, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RUN VERY ROUGH, MISFIRING, IDLING ROUGH, ETC. PULLED OVER, OPENED HOOD, ENGINE WAS IDLING VERY ROUGH. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. BROUGHT IT BACK HOME. TOTAL TRIP WAS LESS THAN 1 MILE. NEXT DAY, STARTED IT UP AGAIN, RAN SMOOTHER, BUT HAD NO POWER; VERY DIFFICULT TO GET ABOVE 20-30MPH. BROUGHT IT TO REPAIR SHOP. THEY DETERMINED THAT ALL THREE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WERE CLOGGED UP FROM BROKEN/MELTED CATALYTIC CONVERTER INTERNAL PARTS. REPLACED ALL THREE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, BUT REPAIR SHOP COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE INITIAL MISFIRING AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER DAMAGE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AT ANY TIME. TOTAL REPAIR COST $2350.00. CAR HAD BEEN IN THE SAME SHOP EARLIER THAT WEEK FOR STATE INSPECTION AND LUBE-OIL-FILTER. NO ISSUES FOUND AT THAT TIME. BATTERY HAD FAILED TWO DAYS BEFORE THE PROBLEM, AND WAS REPLACED THE MORNING OF THE PROBLEM. THE ISSUE APPEARED UPON FIRST DRIVING THE CAR AFTER THE BATTERY WAS CHANGED. *TR
GETTING CODE P0191 AND P0193 ALL REFER TO FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR, MAKING THE CAR CUT ON FUEL AND LOSE SPEED AND MAKE YOU STOP NO MATER IF YOU ARE RUNNING IN THE FREEWAY OR HIGH WAY, IT'S CREATING A HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS TO CRASH ON YOU WHEN THIS HAPPEN. REPLACE THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR TWICE THIS MONTH AND PROBLEM STOP FOR A WHILE AND THEN IS BACK AGAIN SOME REFER A BAD GAS PUMP SYSTEM BUT THAT IS NOT PROBLEM ALSO IT HAPPEN WHEN CAR ACCELERATE GAS CUT OFF AND STOP. I ASK OTHER FORD ESCAPE AND F150 TRUCK OWNERS AND THEY HAVE THE SAME SENSOR REPLACE EVEN MECHANICS AND LOCAL CAR SALE PART, TOLD ME THEY BEEN SELLING THE SAME SENSOR PRESSURE. I RUN A CIRCUIT TEST TO MY OLD SENSOR AND MY NEW ONE AND I COME UP WITH BAD RESULTS TEST WITH POWER ACROSS THE SENSORS CONNECTORS. ONE OF THE THING I DON'T LIKE ABOUT FORD REPAIRS IS ,THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE YOU PAID MUCH MONEY FOR CODE READINGS,PARTS AND LABOR. THIS IS A PRIORITY CASE THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSEE UNTIL SOME ONE GET HURT ON ROAD FOR A SIMPLE DEFECTING PART. *TR
THIS VEHICLE WILL GO INTO "FAIL-SAFE" MODE, WHICH SHUTS THE IC ENGINE OFF WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT HAPPENS VERY INTERMITTENTLY AND NOT IN ANY CONSISTENT PATTERN. ONCE IT HAPPENS, IT CONTINUES TO OCCUR UNLESS THE CAR COOLS OFF COMPLETELY. HAPPENS ONLY WHEN CAR IS USED FOR LONG TRIPS. MULTIPLE FAULT CODES SHOW UP ON THE COMPUTER, AND BASED ON THOSE FAULT CODES, I'VE HAD THE HYBRID COOLANT PUMP REPLACED, THE AIR FILTER FOR THE BATTERIES REPLACED, AND THE FANS THAT COOL THE BATTERY REPLACED. I'VE HAD MULTIPLE TRIPS TO BOTH FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE AND EXCELLENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS (WHO WERE BLOCKED ON THE FORD TECHNICAL WEBSITE, EVEN THOUGH THESE INDEPENDENT MECHANICS SUBSCRIBE, FROM FINISHING THEIR RESEARCH INTO REPAIR OPTIONS) WITH THE FINAL RESULTS THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO REPAIR IT. OTHER THAN THIS PROBLEM, IT'S A VERY NICE VEHICLE....... BUT, I'M VERY NERVOUS THAT THIS SHUT-DOWN WILL OCCUR IN FAST, HEAVY TRAFFIC WHERE I CANNOT GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY AND CAUSE A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT AND LOSS OF LIFE...... INCLUDING MY OWN OR MY FAMILY. I CANNOT KEEP THIS VEHICLE LONGER...... BUT, IF I TRADE IT OFF.... IT'S ONLY GOING TO BE SOMEONE ELSE'S PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ISSUE FOR FORD. GO ONLINE, AND YOU CAN FIND MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, SEVERAL OF WHICH HAVE HAD TERRIFYING EXPERIENCES WITH THIS PROBLEM. FORTUNATELY, MOST OF MY DRIVING WITH THIS VEHICLE IS ON 2-LANE STATE HIGHWAYS WHERE I CAN PULL OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IN THE MIDDLE OF 80-MPH LA TRAFFIC ON A 6 LANE FREEWAY..... IN THE MIDDLE LANE...... I SHUDDER TO THINK. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN DECEMBER, 2011, AND WILL BE GIVING SOMEONE ELSE THE PROBLEM SOON, AS I CANNOT CONTINUE TO SPEND MONEY ON A VEHICLE THAT NO ONE IS CAPABLE OF FIXING, AND I CANNOT KEEP IT WITH THIS PROBLEM. *TR

THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VENT LINE WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE; THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THAT TIME. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AGAIN WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED AGAIN. THE FAILURE PROGRESSED AFTER THE LAST REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO TOOK A COMPLAINT AND ADVISED HIM THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL HIM BACK. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. 2005 FORD ESCAPE XLT V6. SINCE PURCHASING VEHICLE IN 2005 WE HAVE HAD PROBLEM REFUELING. VEHICLE TAKES FUEL SLOWLY WITH FREQUENT SHUTOFFS PRIOR TO FULL. THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT NOW THAT IT SHOOT THE FUEL BACK OUT OF THE NECK ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WHEN YOU TURN ON THE PUMP, EVEN AS SLOW AS YOU CAN RUN THE PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS WATER IN THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH COULD CAUSE SPEED CONTROL FAILURE SUCH AS A STUCK THROTTLE. THE THROTTLE WAS REPLACED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED ON A SEPARATE OCCASION. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERN OF A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD INVOLVING A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER UNDER ACCELERATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A COMPLAINT PREVIOUSLY FILED WITH THE IDENTICAL FAILURES.

THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE BREAKDOWN. THE CAR SIMPLY QUIT RUNNING. IT HAD FIRE BUT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THIS. WE TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER. THE FIRST PROBLEM THEY TOLD US WAS THAT THE CHIP IN THE KEY WAS BAD. THE HAD A NEW KEY MADE. FROM THERE, IT WAS THE PCM COMPUTER AND THEN A SECOND COMPUTER AND THEN 3 POWER PACKS. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE PLUGS AND WIRES AND MISC. OTHER PARTS. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 FORD ESCAPE AND FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS OR MORE THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH PUTTING GAS IN THE VEHICLE. I CAN ONLY PUT IN APPROX. $2 AT A TIME IF NOT LESS BEFORE THE NOZZLE CLICKS OFF. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET TO FIND THAT OTHER OWNERS OF MY VEHICLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. ONE PERSON POSTED THAT FORD INFORMED HIM THAT THERE COULD BE A SPIDER IN THE GAS LINE AMONGST OTHER EXCUSES. IN THE END, HE POSTED THAT THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION TO HIS PROBLEM AND IT STILL TAKES APPROX. 15 MINUTES TO FILL THE TANK. WHEN I CALLED FORD, THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING ABOUT THE SPIDER AND INFORMED ME THAT THERE WOULD BE A $106 CHARGE TO SIMPLY LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. KNOWING THIS CHARGE AND THE FACT THAT OTHERS HAVE POSTED THAT EVEN AFTER THEIR VEHICLE WAS LOOKED AT IT STILL HAS THIS PROBLEM, I DECIDED TO NOT HAVE IT LOOKED AT. TODAY, AGAIN, IT TOOK ME OVER 10 MINUTES TO FILL THE GAS TANK AND GAS CONTINUOUSLY SPILLS OUT ONTO THE CAR AND IT CONSTANTLY CLICKS OFF. IT IS GETTING VERY ANNOYING. *TR
I AM HAVING TROUBLE ADDING GAS TO MY SUV, IT KEEP SHUTTING THE NOZEL OFF. I MUST VERY SLOWLEY ADD THE GAS OR IT WILL SHUT OFF. TODAY 1/29/08, I ADDED 10 GALLONS OF GAS AND IT TOOK ME ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO DO SO. I HAVE TAKEN THE SUV TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THEY REPLACED THE FILL TUBE AND TOLD ME THAT IT SHOULD BE OK NOW, BUT THAT I SHOULD STILL ADD THE GAS AT A SLOW RATE BECAUSE THE NEW PUMPS AT THE STATIONS ARE MORE PRESSURE SENSITIVE AND WILL SHUT OFF FASTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS SUPPOSE TO SEND A FIELD TECHNICIAN TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. WE PURCHASED A 2005 FORD ESCAPE LIMITED FROM COURTESY FORD IN PORTLAND, OREGON, ON AUGUST 29, 2004. THE CAR IS GETTING 11/12 MPG IN THE CITY AND 17 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND AFTER SOME TESTING THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIX THIS DEFECT. SINCE YOU ADVERTISE 18 MPG/24 MPG AND THAT WE BASED OUR PURCHASE DECISION UPON THAT FACTOR, I WOULD LIKE THIS PROBLEM FIXED. WE EITHER GOT A LEMON OR YOU'RE GUILTY OF DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING.
