THE CONTACT CHANGED THE SPARKS PLUGS AND COILS AND NOTICED THE COILS WERE MELTED AND HAD BURST. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 218,000.
CAR RUNNING ROUGH USING TWICE AS MUCH GAS AS USUAL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKING CODE READER SAID MISFIRE CYLINDER 1 MISFIRE CYLINDER 4 THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME OR THE SECOND IT IS NOW THE THIRD TIME THAT ALL 6 IGNITION COILS AND SPARK PLUGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND THE BRAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME BECAUSE IT SHUTS OFF WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING WITH NO MORNING AND THE PARTS ALL TOGETHER $900 FOR A BRAIN $86 FOR EACH IGNITION COIL PLUS THE SPARK PLUGS PLUS THE LABOR INVOLVED NOW THE VEHICLE GOT SO HOT IT NEEDS CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WON'T PASS A SMOG
MY CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH USING MORE GAS GOT A COIL CODE FOR MY NUMBER 1 COIL.BCHANGED PLUGS ETC.. STILL RUNNING BAD. TOOK IT TO FORD PUT ON THERE COMPUTER AND IT CAME BACK AS THE PCM. WHICH CAN CAUSE YOUR CAR TO CATCH FIRE TO STOP SUDDENKY IN MIDDLE OF ROAD USE WAY MORE GAS RUIN ALL OF YOUR PLUGS AND COILS AGAIN. WHY WOULD FORD NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM?WHY IS THIS A PROBLEM?WHAT IF SOMEONE DIES? THEN WHAT? I HAVE REICIEPTS UPON RECIIEPTS. WHY ARE WE THE CONSUMERS THE ONE WHO HAS TO PAY FOR YOUR FAULTS. I USE MY CAR FOR WORK. I TAKE CARE OF MY CARS AND DRIVE THEM LIKE A LADY SHOULD. NO ROUGH BUSINESS IN MY CAR. NOW I CANT DRIVE CAR BECAUSE YOUR PCM NEW IS 1000 . THIS WILL FOREVER DISCOURAGE ME FROM BUYING ANOTHER FORD. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW YOU CAN JUST IGNORE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALOT OF FORD EDGES. ONE WOULD THINK THAT YOUR REPUTATION WOULD BE IMPORTANT TO YOU. IT IS NOT THE DRIVER OR OWNERS FAULT IT IS WHOMEVER MADE THESE COMPUTERS. IT HAPPENS TO EDGES WITH LOW TO HIGH MILES. IT DOESNT MATTER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS ,THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ANTI-FREEZE WAS ADDED TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING. THE CONTACT CALLED SHEEHY FORD OF MARLOW HEIGHTS (5000 AUTH RD, CAMP SPRINGS, MD 20746, (301) 298-0793) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE WATER PUMP ON THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN A POSITION THAT REQUIRES A FULL AND EXPENSIVE REMOVAL OF THE ENGINE TO EVEN CHECK ON IT. MANUAL HAS NO WATER PUMP MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. THE WATER PUMP HAS FAILED INTERNALLY AND DUMPS COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE AND OIL PAN. THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW THIS IS COMING OR HAS HAPPENED UNTIL YOUR ENGINE OVERHEATS. BY THAT POINT THE COOLANT HAS ALREADY RUN THROUGH MY ENGINE AND CAUSED IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE THAT REQUIRES A COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. FORD IS AND HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING.
MY 2007 FORD EDGE AT 77,291 MILE HAD AN ECM FAILURE WITH COIL FAILURES (PO351, PO 352 & PO354). THIS COST ME $1079.87 FOR THE NEW ECM, AND I REPLACED ALL COILS FOR $264 ($44/EACH X 6). THIS EDGE IS THE FIRST FORD VEHICLE I HAVE PURCHASED, & IT MIGHT BE MY LAST. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD GM PRODUCTS UNTIL NOW, & EACH OF THOSE VEHICLES I DROVE TO OVER 200 K MILES ON THEM & NEVER REPLACED THE ECM OR COILS. I AM REPORTING THIS IN HOPES TO ENCOURAGE FORD TO PLACE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE TO HELP OFF SET MY COSTS.
THE ENGINE WENT OUT DUE TO A BAD WATER PUMP BUT NO WARNING SIGNS WERE PRESENT. IT ONLY OVERHEATED FOR 2 MINUTES AND WATER AND OIL MIXED WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO GO OUT COMPLETELY.
FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT A DEFECTIVE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE -EBC- GOING BAD ON A LOT OF FORD EDGES AS I HAVE READ CAUSING THE COIL ASSEMBLY AND SPARK PLUGS HAVING TO BE REPLACED MY SON IN COLLEDGE IN ST LOUIS MO. ON APRIL 21ST STARTED MISSING AND SLOWING AND FINALLY DIED AT AN INTERSECTION (AS SO MANY OTHERS I HAVE READ ABOUT DONE THE SAME THING) HAD TO BE TOWED CAUSING $3000.00 IN REPAIRS CAME HOME ON APRIL 27TH 2018 AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN HAD TO TAKE IT TO FORD DEALER WAS TOLD WHEN THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE WENT BAD IT ALLOWED RAW GAS INTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS CAUSEING THEM TO HAVE TO BE REPLACED ANOTHER $2690.00 IN REPAIRS.A TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY $5690.00 IN REPAIRS BECAUSE FORD CHOSE NOT TO HAVE A RECALL. THE CAR WAS GOING ABOUT 60MPH STARTED VIBRATING, LOSING SPEED, RPM WENT CRAZY, AND CONTINUED TO LOSE POWER AND SHAKE WHEN IT DIED IT SHOOK WHILE IN PARKAND HAD A BAD SMELL WOULD NOT CRANK AFTER THAT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION IN SAINT LOUIS, MO
ENGINE SHAKES VIOLENTLY. WENT TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO GO TO AN APPOINTMENT AND NOTICED THE ENGINE RAN DIFFERENT. WHEN I STARTED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND IT COULD BE FELT INSIDE THE CAR. THE CAR THEN CUT OFF, SO I HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WOULD REMOVE FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND THE SHAKING SUBSIDES, BUT WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN THE ENGINE SHAKES VIOLENTLY AGAIN. TAKING CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSES, BUT FROM ARTICLES ONLINE THERE APPEARS TO BE A PCM & COILS, BUT NO RECALL AVAILABLE FOR THIS REPORTED COMPLAINT. THE CAR SHAKES WHILE I DROVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND LOCAL ROADS AND WHILE STATIONARY.

IN ADDITION, THE PLUGS COILS AND BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION COIL BURNED. THE CONTACT PURCHASED AND REPLACED THE IGNITION. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY, THE NEWLY INSTALLED IGNITION COIL CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT USED A TOWEL TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER AND THE SIX IGNITION COILS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL, BUT PROMISED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN A 2007 FORD EDGE WITH 130K MILES. ENGINE STARTS TO LOSE POWER SUDDENLY AT SPEED, BUT STILL RUNS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS, ODOR OF PLASTIC MELTING. MANAGE TO LIMP OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH A VIBRATING NOISES COMING FROM THE ENGINE. MECHANIC REPORTS THAT 3 OF THE 6 COILS ARE 'MELTED'. ONE IS VERY BADLY MELTED. THE PCM IS ALSO FRIED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. REPAIR BILL IS GOING TO BE OVER $2500 FOR WHAT SEEMS TO BE A FAILED IGNITION COIL. *TR

MY CAR STARTED SPUTTERING ON FREEWAY ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT. SMELLED BURNING. HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. HE INFORMED ME IGNITION COILS BURNED OUT. HE REPLACED THEM BUT CALLED TODAY AND INFORMED ME, CAR WILL RUN FINE AND THEN ONE OR MORE COILS WILL BURN OUT AGAIN CAUSING THE PROBLEM. HE LOOKED COMPLAINTS UP ONLINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF THEM AS I HAVE ALSO. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BECAUSE THERE WERE SO MANY COMPLAINTS BUT NOTHING. (I FOUND OUT I HAD 2 OTHER RECALLS I NEVER GOT A NOTICE FOR.. GREAT)... READING THE COMPLAINTS BELOW FROM CUSTOMERS WHO HAS HAD THE EXACT PROBLEM IS WORRISOME BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT STILL HAS DONE NOTHING TO FIX THIS. MY CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP. IF THIS CAN ONLY BE FIXED AT THE DEALERSHIP AS DESCRIBED BY OTHER COMPLAINTS, I AM SCREWED AS THIS IS VERY COSTLY. FORD SHOULD BE REPLACING THIS AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. I NEVER BOUGHT A FORD DUE TO THEIR REPUTATION AND I GAVE THEM A CHANCE. I SEE WHY NOW ... I ONLY HAVE 69,000 MILES ON IT....
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE STALLED WITH NO WARNING AND THE CAR CUT OFF. AFTER WAITING ABOUT 10 MINUTES, THE CAR STARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO MOVE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIDN'T COME ON UNTIL AFTER THE CAR INITIALLY CUT OFF. I TRIED TO START THE CAR AGAIN ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER AND IT WOULDN'T START AT ALL. FINALLY, AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS THE CAR STARTED, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON.
THE HEATER CORE FAILS APPROXIMATELY EVERY TWO YEARS CAUSING THE EDGE TO OVERHEAT. FORD HAS REPLACED THE HEATER CORE THREE TIMES AND IT FAILED AGAIN AFTER 22 MONTHS, HOWEVER, THEY ARE SAYING IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY NOW AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPLACEMENT. FORD IS AWARE THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE 2007 MODEL AND HAS RECEIVED OTHER COMPLAINTS. I AM CONCERNED THE OVERHEATING MIGHT CARRY POTENTIAL ENGINE FIRE DANGER.
IGNITION COIL MALFUNCTION (MIS-FIRING) DURING HIGHWAY SPEED DRIVING CAUSING LOSS OF POWER, SMOKE AND BURNING SMELL IN ENGINE AND DISABLED VEHICLE. MECHANIC DISCOVERED MELTED IGNITION COIL AND TOTALLY DAMAGED/NON-FUNCTIONAL POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE.
UPON PICKING MY CAR UP FROM THE DEALER SHIP AFTER HAVING A REPAIR DONE FOR A RECALL MY CAR EXPERIENCED CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE DAMAGED PARTS. NOTE THAT THE DEALER SHIP RETAINED MY CAR FOR ABOUT EIGHT MONTHS. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY TO SEE IF THEY CAN HELP.
WE PURCHASED OUR VEHICLE USED AND WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER WE HAD THE VEHICLE WE NOTICED IT WOULD JUMP OR SKIP ALMOST LIKE IT IS NOT GOING INTO GEAR. AT FIRST IT STARTED WITH BEING AT A STOP SIGN AND WHEN I TRIED TO GO IT WOULD JUMP. IT EVENTUALLY STARTED TO HAPPEN WHILE WE ARE DRIVING, THERE IS NO CONSISTENT SITUATION LIKE GOING UP OR DOWN A HILL, STOPPED AT A STOPPED SIGN, OR EVEN BACKING UP WHERE THAT IS THE ONLY TIME IT HAPPENS. OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL SHOPS LOOK AT IT INCLUDING A THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED IT WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND AFTER. EACH TIME THEY ADVISED THE COMPUTER WAS NOT REGISTERING ANYTHING WRONG. EVERY LOCATION DROVE THE VEHICLE AND DID FEEL THE SAME THING BUT WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE ISSUE. WE HAVE EVEN LEFT THE CAR AT THE SHOP FOR SEVERAL DAYS AT A TIME FOR THEM TO DRIVE AND TRY TO LOCATE THE ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACT FORD BUT WAS ADVISED THERE WAS NO RECALL OR ANYONE ELSE HAVING ISSUES BUT I WAS WELCOME TO CALL BACK AND KEEP ADVISING THEM OF THE ISSUE. THE REPAIR SHOPS ADVISED I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOMETHING TO ESSENTIALLY BREAK TO BE ABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. OTHER THAN THIS ISSUE WE HAVE HAD NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR AND WE HAVE IT SERVICED REGULARLY BUT WE ARE CONCERNED WITH DRIVING IT LONG DISTANCES AND I AM AFRAID THIS JUMP/SKIP MAY EVENTUALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WOULD LIKE TO TRY TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THIS ISSUE OR IF ANYTHING CAN BE DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.

I DROVE LOCAL SO I COULD KEEP MY SPEED TO 20 MILES. THEN WHEN 4 MINUTES FROM HOME, WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE CAR WENT DEAD. I TRIED TO START IT, BUT NOTHING. WHEN I NOTICE A BURNING TYPE OF SMELL I STOPPED AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT ALL 6 COILS HAD MELTED ONTO THE MAIN PC OF THE CAR. HE FOUND IT EXTREMELY ODD THAT ALL 6 BURNED AT THE SAME TIME. HE SAID IT'S USUALLY 1, 2 OR 3, BUT NEVER HEARD OF ALL 6. *TR

ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR EMITTING FROM THE VEHICLE AS IT STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WERE TWO DEFECTIVE SPARK PLUGS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.

THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT RAPIDLY AND THE AIR CONDITIONING BEGAN TO PUT OUT HOT AIR. I PULLED THE VEHICLE OFF OF THE ROAD AND TURNED EVERYTHING OFF. UPON COOLING DOWN, WATER WAS ADDED TO THE RADIATOR AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC. THE PROBLEM WAS AN INTERNAL WATER PUMP. THE WATER PUMP COST $1900 TO HAVE REPLACED. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING, IT IS THE DESIGN AND HOW YOU HAVE TO ACCESS THE WATER PUMP. I PRICED (3) DIFFERENT DEALERS ON THE REPAIR AND THEY WERE ALL WITHIN A FEW DOLLARS OF EACH OTHER. THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RELIABLE. *TR

SINCE FEB 2014, MY 2007 FORD EDGE SEEMED TO BE WANTING TO STALL WHEN I WAS DRIVING AND/OR TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT AS IT WASN'T A 24/7 ISSUE BUT IT DID HAPPEN REGULARLY. YESTERDAY EVERYTHING CHANGED. I WENT TO TURN MY CAR ON YESTERDAY AND IT DIDN'T TURN ON RIGHT AWAY. IT WAS "TRYING" TO START AND THEN IT WOULD SHUT DOWN. I WOULD TRY TO START IT AGAIN AND ONCE AGAIN, IT WAS "TRYING" TO START AND EVENTUALLY DID. I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT I WASN'T ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND I WAS GOING SLOWER AND SLOWER SO I MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO THE BREAK DOWN LANE AND THEN THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF. ONCE AGAIN, IT DIDN'T TURN ON THE FIRST TIME I TRIED BUT THEN IT DID THE SECOND TIME BUT RELUCTANTLY. THE LIGHTS WERE DIM ON MY DASHBOARD WHICH HADN'T HAPPENED BEFORE. I MANAGED TO GET HOME VERY SLOWLY. I SHUT MY CAR OFF AT HOME AND TRIED TO TURN IT ON AND AGAIN IT WAS STRUGGLING TO TURN ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TODAY AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE TECH WENT ON TO EXPLAIN THAT HE HAS SEEN THIS ISSUE ESPECIALLY IN THE YEAR AND MODEL THAT I HAVE. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND SEE THAT THE NHTSA HAD BEEN LOOKING INTO THIS SAME ISSUE/COMPLAINTS BUT WITH A LATER YEAR AS WELL AS WELL AS OTHER MODELS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS WASN'T A RECALL AS THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DANGEROUS SCENARIO. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND THANKFULLY NOT WITH MY CHILDREN. I SEE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I NEED TO PAY TO GET THIS FIXED BUT I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE COMING OUT OF FORD'S POCKET AS IT SEEMS LIKE IT WAS A DEFECTIVE PART. NOT ONLY IS IT A $1500 REPAIR BUT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM HAPPENING TO FORD EDGE'S YEARS 2007 - 2011. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE ON THIS PART. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I NOTICED MY THERMOSTAT CLIMBING ABOUT TO OVER HEAT. I PULL OF AT THE NEAREST EXIT AND STOP AT AN OIL CHANGE SERVICE STATION. THE MECHANIC SAY I HAD NO ANTIFREEZE IN THE CAR. HE REFILLS THE ANTIFREEZE AND I WAS ON MY WAY. 20 MINS INTO MY DRIVE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND THE THERMOSTAT LOOKS FINE, BUT THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING AND STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY AREA OF NYC. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND AFTER THEIR DIAGNOSTIC TEST THEY SAID THE ENGINE HEAD IS CRACKED OR WARPED AND THEY FOUND ANTIFREEZE MIXED IN OIL AND RADIATOR AND WILL COST $2500 TO FIX! WTF!! IS THIS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN?? I TOOK GREAT CARE OF THIS VEHICLE AND I FEEL LIKE A SUCKER! NOW I CAN'T GET TO WORK, CAN'T GET MY KIDS TO OR FROM SCHOOL AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT! *TR
JANUARY 18, 2013, IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER, DROVE 2007 FORD EDGE, WITH 40,466 MILES, TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP BECAUSE THE HEATER & DEFROSTER WERE NOT WORKING. THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP FLUSHED THE COOLANT AND THE HEATER CORE AND INSTALLED NEW COOLANT BECAUSE THE HEATER CORE WAS CLOGGED WITH METAL DEBRIS. EIGHT MONTHS LATER, SEPTEMBER 22, 2013 AND 57,000 MILES, SAME PROBLEM, THE HEATER & DEFROSTER WERE NOT WORKING. FIVE DAYS LATER, RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO AUTO REPAIR SHOP BECAUSE OF STRONG COOLANT SMELL AND THE ENGINE FANS WERE TURNING OFF AND ON. THIS TIME, THE SHOP DETERMINED THE HEATER CORE IS CLOGGED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP DISCOVERED FORD'S TSB 09M04S1. THIS FORD TSB, ISSUED 3/31/2010, GUARANTEES THE FOLLOWING: "OWNERS OF AFFECTED VEHICLES ARE ENTITLED TO A COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH AND REFILL AND A WARRANTY EXTENSION ON THE HEATER CORE TO SIX YEARS OR 105,000 MILES FROM FOUR YEARS OR 50,000 MILES. AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY HAVE POOR HEATER PERFORMANCE." ON SATURDAY AUGUST 17,2013 I WAS GETTING MY BASKETBALL TEAM SUPPLIES FROM THE BACK OF MY CAR, MY DAUGHTER WAS HELPING ME. I WAS NOT LEANING EXTREMELY CLOSE TO THE VEHICLE JUST STANDING NORMALLY AND THE EXHAUST PIPE BURNED MY LEG. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A WELL KNOW AUTO SHOP WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT AN IGNITION COIL WAS BURNED AND THE REASON MY CAR STALLED. I HAD THE IGNITION COIL REPLACED AND THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT RESTART. I HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE CRANK SHAFT AND CAM SHAFT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I PAID FOR THESE SERVICES AND FINALLY WAS TOLD THE COMPUTER ON THE CAR WAS BURNED AND THIS IS THE REASON THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT START. FINALLY MY CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO FORD AND I AM AWAITING ITS FATE. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR TWO YEARS AND THIS IS THE SECOND ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT I HAVE ENCOUNTERED WITH THIS VEHICLE. AT FIRST, I WAS CHANGING REAR TURN SIGNALS ALMOST 1-2 A WEEK. I PURCHASED MY EDGE JANUARY 2010 AND HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY JULY 2010. AFTER READING OTHER FORUMS I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL ELECTRICAL FIRES THAT THIS SUV COULD PRODUCE.
