Your front turn signals have stopped working, creating a safety hazard since other drivers won't know when you're turning. Multiple mechanics have confirmed this isn't just a burned-out bulb—the entire turn signal assembly needs to be removed and replaced. This happened without any warning lights or messages appearing on your dashboard first.

The tail light assembly on your 2023 Dodge Durango has sharp, protruding edges that can cut or gouge people reaching into the trunk or back seat area. This has caused injuries to multiple family members who were simply trying to retrieve items from the vehicle, resulting in bleeding wounds and scarring. The design appears to pose an unnecessary safety hazard to passengers. A fix would likely involve redesigning or repositioning the tail light housing to remove sharp edges or modify the trim panel.

Your daytime running lights (DRLs) stopped working within 3 years, even though LED lights are supposed to last 10-15 years. This reduces visibility to other drivers during the day. Dealerships are saying you need to replace the entire headlight system at a cost of nearly $2,000, and your extended warranty won't cover it. The repair could involve replacing the LED bulbs, checking the electrical wiring, inspecting fuses, or replacing the ballast or entire headlight assembly.

Your left turn signal light isn't working properly. The LED strip on the driver's side is malfunctioning, which means other drivers may not see your turn signals. The dealer will likely need to replace the faulty LED light module or the entire turn signal assembly.

Your running lights aren't working properly. The dealer told you that the only fix is to replace the entire light assembly and that this isn't covered under your warranty. You've discovered that many other owners have experienced this same issue within the first three years of ownership.

Your engine's oil filter housing may fail, causing engine oil and coolant to mix together and making your car unable to run. This appears to be a widespread issue affecting multiple 2021-2024 Durangos, and in some cases has caused complete engine failure. The repair will likely involve replacing the faulty oil filter housing assembly and flushing the engine system.

Your 2023 Dodge Durango's transmission may not respond when you shift into reverse, displaying a "Service Shifter" message without any warning light. On another occasion, your vehicle lost engine power while driving at highway speed (60 MPH) with no warning light. Manually shifting the gear shifter between neutral and reverse temporarily resolved the first issue, but the dealer was unable to diagnose or repair the problem. The issue may involve the transmission shifter assembly or engine control module that needs diagnostic testing and possible replacement.

Vehicle Speed Control, forward Collision Avoidance1 issue
criticalVEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Jan 2026

Your forward collision warning system is malfunctioning unpredictably. While driving on the highway at 80 mph, the sensor sometimes triggers false alarms with a red blinking light and loud alarm, causing your brakes to apply suddenly even when no vehicle is ahead of you—creating a dangerous situation for drivers behind you. However, when an actual vehicle pulled in front of you, the sensor failed to activate at all. The dealership inspected the vehicle but found no issue, though the problem has occurred multiple times.

CrashFiled: May 2025

A warning light has been turning on and off since you bought your 2023 Dodge Durango, and a service technician suggested it might be a dirty sensor. More concerning, your vehicle has been in two accidents where the emergency braking system did not engage when it should have, and the airbags failed to deploy in either crash despite the severity of impact. This suggests potential failures in both your forward collision avoidance system and airbag deployment system. Getting the warning light diagnosed and both safety systems thoroughly inspected by a Dodge dealership is critical.

Service Brakes1 issue
criticalSERVICE BRAKES
CrashFiled: Apr 2025

Your brakes completely failed when you tried to stop at a red light, causing your Durango to rear-end another vehicle. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor with no resistance, and a state trooper verified this problem when inspecting the vehicle. A mechanic will need to inspect the entire brake system to identify whether the issue is a leak, failed master cylinder, or another critical component.

highELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Feb 2026

Your 2023 Dodge Durango experienced multiple electrical faults and intermittent starting problems shortly after purchase, including difficulty starting the engine and requiring firm brake pedal pressure to start. Diagnostic scans found fault codes related to engine control modules, anti-lock brakes, power liftgate, and body electrical systems. The dealership replaced a fuel line to address the starting hesitation, but the vehicle had a documented history of electrical communication failures that created concerns about reliability and safety.

Your fuel pump stopped working and needed replacement before 57,000 miles. You've also experienced satellite/antenna/module failures, headlight daytime running lights that failed prematurely, and taillights that keep burning out due to water buildup inside the fixtures. The fuel pump will need to be replaced, the antenna/satellite module repaired or replaced, the headlight DRL assembly serviced or replaced, and the taillight housings sealed or replaced to prevent water intrusion.

Power Train1 issue

Filed: Dec 2025

Your transmission warning light has come on three times in six months, and each time your car won't shift properly. When you take it to the dealer, no error codes appear in the computer, even though you have video evidence of the problem happening. The dealer has already replaced the transmission control module once, but the problem keeps returning. Since your car keeps showing this warning light and shifting problem despite no diagnostic codes, there's clearly an intermittent transmission issue that needs further investigation and repair.

Your 2023 Dodge Durango's Uconnect infotainment system has failed multiple times, blocking access to navigation, warnings, and settings. Additionally, the driver-side daytime running light (DRL) failed at 40,000 miles, reducing visibility to other drivers during daylight. Both issues affect your safety and may require replacement of the infotainment module and DRL assembly.

Your infotainment screen went black and displayed a message telling you to take the car to the dealer. At the same time, the transmission shifter indicator stopped working. Your windshield has developed bubbles and delamination (separation of glass layers) in both corners and along the top, which appeared when the vehicle was new. Despite bringing the car in multiple times for repair and contacting Stellantis, the issue was never fixed, and you were told the glass isn't covered under warranty even though your vehicle only has 8,000 miles. The fix would likely involve windshield replacement.

Filed: Feb 2026

Your liftgate spoiler detached and fell off while driving at 40 mph. This appears to be a structural attachment failure rather than impact-related damage. The repair will likely involve replacing the spoiler and inspecting the mounting bracket and fasteners on your liftgate.

Your Uconnect infotainment system is making constant dinging sounds inside the car, but no error message appears to explain why. This ongoing noise is a distraction while driving. The system may need software updates or the Uconnect module itself may require service or replacement.
