Your engine light came on and your car overheated while driving, forcing you to pull over immediately. You noticed fluid leaking underneath, and this same problem happened twice in 6 months. The coolant lines have holes in them and aren't properly secured, causing them to rub against other parts. This is a safety concern because the engine overheats suddenly and you lose power while driving.

Your engine's oil cooler has failed. Your mechanic indicates this is a common problem with this engine type, and you're concerned about why there hasn't been a recall issued. The oil cooler may need to be replaced to restore proper engine cooling.

Your car has overheated twice this year due to coolant lines rubbing against parts underneath the vehicle and developing holes, causing coolant to leak onto the ground. The dealership says this is a design defect — the coolant lines running to the rear of the vehicle aren't properly supported. You've filed two complaints with Dodge and received no response, and your car is currently at the dealership awaiting repair. The fix will likely involve repositioning or securing the coolant lines and replacing any damaged hoses or connections.

I took my car into Fairfield Dodge (Fairfield Texas). I have taken my car in about 3 times already. The first two was to do test on it. I can be driving my car and smell Gas as if I stepped in it. the smell makes me sick. I can park my car and the smell is just ask bad on the outside as it is in the inside. the car dealership said oh we have found the problem. They had my car for 1mth and 2 days and changed the fuel take and canaster, oh that is it. They said it is fixed " WRONG. " I smell the same smell, and just as strong as I did when I took it in. So, I called, and they told me oh well we can set you up to bring it in so we can check it out. They DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I only have like 57,000 miles on my car and if this is a ongoing thing I think these falls under a LEMON LAW, I bought this car new. This is very dangerous I would like to get answers on my car and not have to leave it for a month or so just to have the same thing happen again and again. It is so bad if someone was to throw a cigarette down in the parkin lot it might caught on fire. I hope I can get answers before taking it in and getting no answers. The vehicle was not repaired as the vehicle was awaiting a tow to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised that the vehicle be taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The failure mileage was 62,180.

From my understanding, I went to several different mechanics who all said the same thing. 2019 and maybe older years, the way the truck was made, the coolant hose runs all the way from the resovoir to the back of the truck which is causing a metal pipe and the coolant hose to touch and when the metal pipe gets hot, it’s eating at the hose cause a significant leakage under the truck. And the hose is behind the vent under the truck which means pieces would need to get removed from the truck in order to get to the hose.

Upon making slow turn I experiance a rapid unintended acceleration. Engine raced to about 4000 RPM. In order to get vehicle under control brakes were applied to maximum and vehicle was shifted into neutral which caused engine to throttle higher but driver was able to turn off vehicle and safely come to a stop. After restarting vehicle throttle reurned to normal functioning. I was lucky there were no other vehicles around or a wreck would have happened. I do not know if this related to recall 22V426000. `Dodge dealeership advised that there currenlly is no fix for this recall. If this incident is related to the recall Dodge needs to find a fix ASAP.+

ON JULY 2, 2020, I WAS DRIVING MY DODGE DURANGO UP AN ISOLATED STEEP MOUNTAIN ROAD IN THE SIERRA NEVADA AT ABOUT 20 MPH WHEN IT SUDDENLY STALLED ON A STEEP GRADE IN THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS. THERE WERE NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE CAR HAD BEEN OPERATING AT NORMAL TEMPERATURE. AFTER TRYING TO THE RESTART THE CAR, THE ENGINE AT FIRST BEGAN TO OPERATE, THEN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY HESITATED AND DIED. I TRIED AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULTS, AND EVEN ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE GAS PEDAL TO NO AVAIL. AS SOMEONE WITH SOME PREVIOUS MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE, IT SEEMED TO ME THAT IT WAS A FUEL DELIVERY PROBLEM. THE CAR HAD NEARLY HALF A TANK OF GAS HOWEVER. I POPPED THE HOOD AND OBSERVED NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY THAT WOULD INDICATE ANY PROBLEMS. THERE WAS OIL IN THE CRANKCASE AND AMPLE COOLANT. MY WIFE AND I DECIDED TO WAIT AND LET THE ENGINE AND VEHICLE COOL DOWN SINCE IT WAS OVER 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES, I RESTARTED THE CAR WITHOUT PROBLEM AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY. THE CAR HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN IN AUTOMATIC MODE BUT HAD SHIFTED TO THE LOWER GEARS. I DECIDED TO PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN MANUAL MODE AND KEEP THE CAR IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR DUE TO THE STEEP TERRAIN. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS THE REST OF THE WAY. WE WERE BEYOND CELL PHONE RANGE ON A VERY ISOLATED ROAD AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN A TOW, SO I AM VERY GRATEFUL THE CAR CONTINUED TO OPERATE AFTER OUR INITIAL PROBLEM. HOWEVER, WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM WILL OCCUR AGAIN OR WHETHER HAVING THE TRANSMISSION IN AUTOMATIVE MODE ON A STEEP GRADE PLAYED ANY ROLE.
