FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
CERTAIN REPLACEMENT FUEL FILTERS, FRAM BRAND NAME P/N G3727, WITH DATE CODES X52911 THROUGH X60801 SEQUENTIALLY OR X600141 AND A MEXICO COUNTRY OR ORIGIN MARKING ON THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 18, 2005, THROUGH MARCH 21, 2006, SOLD FOR USE ON THE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE AND ON CERTAIN SCHOOL BUSES. (TO SEE THE SCHOOL BUS ENGINE SIZES, CLICK ON "DOCUMENT SEARCH" AND THEN "BUS APPLICATIONS"). THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL FILTER WAS NOT MANUFACTURED TO HONEYWELL'S SPECIFICATION. AS A RESULT, THE O-RING MAY NOT SEAT CORRECTLY ON THE FUEL LINE.
Fix: HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-890-2075 (OPTION 1).

DT: THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE IS A FAULTY FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR IN 1996 CHEVROLET TAHOE TRUCK. THIS WAS NOTED ON 7-12-05. A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE GM CALL CENTER TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT THERE WAS AN UPCOMING RECALL ON THIS PART AND THAT THE FUEL LINES MELT CAUSING THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR TO GO BAD. *NM
CONSUMER STATES: FUEL INJECTIN SYSTEM 5,6,AND 7 MISSING, AND IT IS LEAKING. VEHICLE BACK FIRED A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE IT NEEDED A TUNE UP. *AK
1996 CHEVROLET TAHOE 2 WHEEL DRIVE 4 DOOR 5.7 VORTEC FUEL PUMP FAILURE. I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 45,000 MILES(4 MONTHS)THE WIRING CONNECTOR TO THE PUMP GETS HOT AND MELTS THE WIRES INSIDE THE PUMP THE LAST ONE HAD MELTED THE WIRE BARE INSIDE THE TANK.THE PUMP STILL WORKS BUT THE PUMP ASSEMBLY IS UNUSABLE DUE TO MELTING OF THE HOUSING AND RESULTING LEAKAGE. *AK
THERE IS A PROTECTIVE SHIELD THAT COVERS GAS TANK LOCATED AT LOWEST PART OF GAS TANK. WATER GETS TRAPPED, AND TANK IS RUSTING FROM THE OUTSIDE INWARD. ALSO, HAS BEEN SMELLING GAS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
REPLACED FUEL PUMP ON 7/27/02. FUEL PUMP FAILED DUE TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AGAIN ON 7/28/02. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO PUMP REPLACED AND 2ND REPLACEMENT PUMP INSTALLED ON 7/30/02. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS $665.58. SAFETY RECALL TSB #98044, AUG. 98 "FUEL TANK" - MAY CONTACT BODY SILL. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WAS EVER CORRECTED ON MY VEHICLE. I AM THE SECOND OWNER. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THIS RECALL WAS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE.*AK
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND MISFIRING, DEALER REPLACED DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTOR, FUEL FILTER, 3 INJECTORS, DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND A SET OF SPARK PLUG WIRES. *SLC
COMPUTER CHIP FAILED, AND VEHICLE WILLNOT START AT ALL. DEALERSHIP REPLACED COMPUTER CHIP, AND NOTED THAT WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT WORK. *AK CONSUMER STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR, FUEL PUMP, FUEL FILTER, DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS, AIRCONDITIONER, AND COMPUTER BRAIN WERE ALL REPLACED. *SLC
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR GAS TANK, BUT WAS ADVISED BY DEALERSHIP THAT PARTS WERE NOT IN STOCK. *JB
FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN REPLACED 6 TIMES SINCE PURCHASE. MECHANICS AT DEALERSHIP MENTIONED TO CONSUMER THAT THEY REPLACED THIS COMPONENT ALL THE TIME, IT WAS A DEFECTIVE PART. *AK
THE PUMP ON THIS VEHICLE HAS GONE OUT 8 TIMES WITH THE MOST RECENT THE24 OF DEC THE VEHICLE JUST DIES OR STOPS IN TRAFFIC . IT ALSO LEAVES NO CODES IN THE COMPUTER . I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER DIESEL OWNERS WHO ARE ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DIESEL FUEL PUMP . THIS IS NOT UNIQUE TO JUST TAHOE ALL THE GM 6.5 ARE AFFECTED , GM HAS SENT OUT AN EXTENTSION OF THE WARRANTY TO 120000 ON 1994-2000 VEHICLES W/ DIESEL ENGINES YET WE CONTINUE TO REPLACE THE PUMP EVERY 8000-15000 MILES. *AK
VEHICLE LEAKS ANTI-FREEZE AT INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET. MECHANIC TOLD CONSUMER HAS SEEN MANY TAHOES WITH SAME PROBLEM. *AK
FUEL REGULATOR DIAPHRAM RUPTURED, LEAKING RAW GASOLINE INTO CRANKCASE/OILPAN EPA /EMISSIONS TEST FAILURE. *AK
FUEL PUMP ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. NOT SURE IF IT IS A DEFECT BUT ALARMING JUST THE SAME. WIRING HARNESS/CONNECTIONS ON FUEL PUMP AND SENDING UNIT INSIDE OF FUEL TANK MELTED, OVERHEATED AND BURNED. WHILE THIS MAY BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT TO MY VEHICLE MECHANICS INFORMED ME THAT I WAS EXTREMELY LUCKY CAR DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE AND TANK IGNITE. *AK .

FUEL INJECTORS FAILED.
COMSUMER TOOK THE CAR TO GET THE GASOLINE GAUGE FIXED. TWO DAYS LATER NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A GASOLINE LEAK WHICH CAUSED UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR TO BE SOAKED WITH GASOLINE. *AK

WHEN DRIVING THE FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T WORK PRORELY. WHEN TANK IS ON EMPTY THERE IS ANOTHER 6-8 GALLONS LEFT IN THE TANK. *AK
