The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware of an abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed actuator. The contact was informed that the actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The contact stated that a total of eleven actuators had been replaced in the vehicle since 2018. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.
Had a new catalyst converter installed new up steam down steam 02 sensor and it say Catalytic converter system is below threshold bank one had numerous parts put on and the engine light won’t stay off I don’t have a lot of money to keep fixing it the light goe out for a couple days come back on
When pulling up to a stoplight the car would often downshift, surge with power, and nearly overpower the brakes. The car started losing oil from its rear main seal. When I finally had the seal replaced the repair shop found that pieces of the thrust bearing were laying in the oil pan. The engine and transmission had to be removed from the vehicle in order to replace the thrust bearing. They showed me a box full of parts, but I did not keep any.
I WAS DRIVING TO MY SISTER'S HOUSE ON SEPT. 27 2020. WHEN MY CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE FROM THE ENGINE AND I NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER CALLED MY HUSBAND, WHEN HE GOT THERE HE OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BROKE COMPLETELY OFF MY ENGINE. WE MANAGED TO GET TO A FRIENDS DOWN THE ROAD FOR THE NIGHT UNTIL WE ABLE TO GET IT TOWED TO THE DEALER'S THE NEXT DAY. WHEN I CALLED THE AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED THEY TOLD IT WAS MY FAULT THAT I MUST OF HIT SOMETHING TO MAKE FALL OFF. I DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER UNDERNEATH MY CAR, I TRIED TO TELL THEM THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THAT I COULD HAVE POSSIBLY BURNED TO DEATH IN MY OWN CAR IF I HADN'T OF PULLED OVER UPON HEARING...THANKFULLY I WAS IN AN AREA WHERE I COULD PULL OVER. I DID CALL GM ALSO THEY TO SAID IT WAS MY FAULT AND OR WEATHER CONDITIONS. I TOLD THEM IT WAS NOT MY FAULT I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING AND WEATHER HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, BOTTOM LINE IS THAT PART SHOULD HAVE NEVER FALLEN OFF TO BEGIN WITH. JERRY'S CADILLAC (3118 FORT WORTH HWY, HUDSON OAKS, TX 76087 (817) 382-9412) WAS CALLED AND A PENDING APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
VEHICLE IS IDLING HARD ON START UPS AND SHUTTING OFF WHEN BRAKE. RESTARTS BUT WILL SHUT OFF AGAIN WHEN I BRAKE.
TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR ITS REGULAR OIL CHANGE. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CAR STARTED DRIVING FUNNY. I NOTICE THAT WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING. AFTER IT HAPPENED A FEW MORE TIMES WITHIN THAT SAME WEEK, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD THE OIL CHANGE, NOT BEFORE CALLING THE SERVICE DEPT. SEVERAL TIME IN THE WEEK TO VOICE MY CONCERNS. I WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN AND HAVE THEM CHECK MY OIL LEVEL TO MAKE SURE ALL WAS WELL. I TOLD THEM WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING AND THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND ASKED COULD THEY RE-CHECK MY OIL LEVEL. THE SERVICE ADVISOR CHECKED AND SAID THAT THE OIL WAS FINE. SHE THEN SUGGESTED THAT I PAY $112.48 DOLLARS FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY TO DETERMINE WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I DID! ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS P2645 INTAKE ROCKER ARM CONTROL CIRCUIT SOLENOID. THEN SHE GAME ME A QUOTE OF $407.35 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE PART UPFRONT BEFORE ANYTHING COULD BE DONE AND ON TOP OF THAT, THIS PART WAS ON BACK-ORDER AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE WEEKS TO FILL THE ORDER. I NEED TO USE MY VEHICLE TO GET AROUND AND THIS WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE! THIS WAS OVER 2 MONTHS AGO. I THEN TURNED TO THE INTERNET TO DO MY RESEARCH ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IS A FAULTY PART FROM THE GM MANUFACTURE. AND GM WAS NOT WILLING TO REPLACE THE PART EVEN AFTER THEY PLACE THIS PART IN MY VEHICLE KNOWINGLY THAT THIS WAS A DEFECTED PART AND THAT DOWN THE ROAD IT WOULD BE FAULTY, NOT ONLY IN MY 2014 BUT THE 2015 CHEVY IMPALA'S AND THE CHEVY MALIBU. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND GM NEED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM PAYING FOR A CAR FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS THAT I CANT EVEN DRIVE! SHAMEFUL GM! *TR
ENGINE VARIABLE TIMING SOLENOID FAILURE. CURRENTLY NO PARTS AVAILABLE DUE TO EXTREMELY HIGH FAILURE RATE AND NOT CURRENTLY CREATING NEW PARTS. LEAVING THE CAR LACKING ACCELERATION AND AT RISK FOR POSSIBLE INTERNAL DAMAGE. FAILURE AT SPEED OVER 4000 RPM.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND IT LOSS POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO NELSON HALL CHEVROLET IN MERIDIAN, MS. THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED AN EXHAUST SOLENOID PART NUMBER 12633613. IT WAS SITTING THERE AT THE CHEVY DEALER FOR A MONTH AND A HALF. THEY TOLD ME TO COME GET IT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART TO FIX IT AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHEN THE PART WAS GOING TO BE AVAILABLE. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH GMC SINCE DECEMBER OF 2019. GMC DOESN'T KNOW WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR!! WHEN I SPOKE WITH GMC LAST, THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE GIVING ME A CALL BACK IN 24-48 HOURS. IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS AND GMC WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS. MY CAR IS STILL BROKEN AS OF TODAY MARCH 18, 2020. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ROCKER ARM AND CONTROL VALVE SOLENOID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO PARTS BEING ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
2014 CHEVY IMPALA NEEDS A ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE PART# 12633613. GM SAYS THERE IS NO ETA ON THE PART BUT DEALER SAYS PART IS NOT BEING PRODUCED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, THE CAR STUTTERS DURING MOTION ALSO WILL SHAKE SUDDENLY. ALSO, HAS A LACK OF ACCELERATION.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS CAR USED AT A DEALERSHIP. BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE, THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO FIX ALL PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. I WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON DUE TO A ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP WAITING FOR A PART THAT'S ON BACKORDER AND THE PART NEEDED IS GM #12633613 ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH MYSELF, I DISCOVERED THIS PART FAILS COMMONLY ON MY VEHICLE MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR AS WELL AS 2014-2015 CHEVY MALIBUS PRODUCED WITH THE SAME ENGINE. GM NOR ANY AFTERMARKET COMPANIES HAVE THIS PART IN STOCK. I'VE CONTACTED GM AND WAS ONLY TOLD THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THIS PART AVAILABLE. HOWEVER, A FEW OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY GM THAT THIS PART IS DISCONTINUED. THERE ARE PEOPLE WAITING MONTHS FOR THIS TO BE FIXED AND GM SEEMS NOT TO WANTING TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. I WOULD GET ANOTHER VEHICLE BUT THEN I WOULD HAVE TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR THE LOANER CAR I'M CURRENTLY DRIVING FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS GM'S PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.
FAULTY ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE, CODE P2646. GM REFUSES TO RECALL THOUGH IT'S KNOWN ISSUE. GM DOES NOT HAVE PART NOR ARE THEY PRODUCING IT, BUT THERE'S NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIX IT AND MAKE MY CAR SAFE IF THEY WON'T MAKE THE PART? EITHER THEY RECALL IT OR THEY PAY FOR FIX AT DEALERSHIP. I'VE HAD TWO SEPARATE MECHANICS VERIFY THIS ISSUE AND CAN PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION IF ASKED. MY WIFE WAS DROPPING OUR KIDS OFF AT SCHOOL AND OWN HER WAY BACK HOME THE CAR STARTED SMOKING. SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A WALMART. I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO A ELITE AUTO REPAIR SHOP IN CYPRESS, TX. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR NEEDED A ENGINE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE BUT THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART. THIS HAPPENED IN NOVEMBER 2019 AND IT'S NOW FEBRUARY 2020 AND THE PART STILL HASN'T COME IN. WHILE LOOKING FOR THE PART MYSELF I FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUE. BECAUSE THIS WAS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION I'M NOW FORCED TO RENT CARS UNTIL I CAN GET MY CAR FIXED AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHEN I'M GOING TO GET MY CAR BACK.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS A LOUD NOISED COMING FROM THE MOTOR AND EXHAUST FUMES ENTERED INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER HUSBAND NOTICED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS FRACTURED. THE SAME DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SAME DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS THEN REFERRED TO A GMC DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. A CASE WAS FILED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
I WAS DRIVING IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC WHEN THE CAR'S ENGINE POWER SHUT OFF, COULDN'T RESTART FOR SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. CALLED 911 AS A DISABLED VEHICLE IN CENTER OF HIGHWAY. STABILITYTRAK AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER WARNING CAME ON AS WELL AS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. BROUGHT TO DEALER, WAS TOLD MANIFOLD BOLTS WERE LOOSE AND BATTERY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. PAID DEALER $663. THE VERY NEXT MORNING SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN 3 TIMES BEFORE I GOT TO THE DEALER. AFTER RESEARCHING I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT GM IS NOT ADDRESSING. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN ENGINE SHUTS DOWN ON THE MIDDLE OF 4 LANE HIGHWAY! IS SOMEONE GOING TO HAVE TO BE KILLED BEFORE GM RECALLS THROTTLE BODY/ ACCELERATOR PROBLEM?

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE FOLLOWING CODES APPEARED: B101D ELECTRONIC CONTROL, UN150F LINBUS15, B1325 CONTROL MODULE POWER CIRCUIT, U0028 MOST BUS, U0140 LOST BODY CONTROL, 0184 LOST COMMUNICATION HVAC CONTROL, U15E1LINBUS1 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH DEVICE, AND AU2098 MOST CAPITAL COMMUNICATION ENABLE CIRCUIT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,800.

ON OCTOBER 4 WHILE DRIVING ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY IN ASH FLAT, ARKANSAS,MY 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA'S ENGINE QUIT RUNNING SUDDENLY. I HAD NO POWER WHATSOEVER. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO REACH THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. AFTER TURNING THE KEY OFF I THEN BACK ON I WAS ABLE TO START THE ENGINE. IT SEEMS TO BE OKAY. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM APPREHENSIVE ABOUT DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I NOTICED THERE HAVE BEEN TWO OTHER SIMILAR INCIDENTS REPORTED ON SAME YEAR/MODEL CARS, I HAVE 55,000.MILES ON MY VEHICLE.
2014 CHEVY IMPALA - 50,000 MILES - THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. IT WILL SUDDENLY REGAIN POWER AND THE ENGINE WILL SURGE. ON 8/20/18 I CAN TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE CAR DID NOT RESPOND AND ALMOST STALLED. I DID NOT REALIZE HOW FAR I WAS PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, AND WHEN THE CAR REGAINED POWER THE FRONT TIRES SQUEALED FROM THE RESULTING BURNOUT. LUCKILY, I DIDN'T RUN ANYONE OVER FROM TAKING OFF LIKE THIS. A MOTHER WAS WITH HER CHILD ON THE SIDEWALK AND WAS NOT PLEASED WITH THE WAY I WAS DRIVING IN AN AREA WHERE KIDS PLAY. THIS CAR HAS HAD ONE PROBLEM AFTER THE OTHER. I DISCOVERED A GM SERVICE BULLETIN PIP5507B - "IN AMBIENT TEMPERATURES 100F OR HIGHER, VEHICLE MAY EXHIBIT A HESITATION OR STALLING CONDITION - CUSTOMERS CAN BE ADVISED TO UTILIZE FUELS WITH OCTANE 91 OR HIGHER, REFRAIN FROM IDLING, AND ONLY PARK VEHICLE IN A COVERED GARAGE. AS LONG AS YOU DON'T USE THIS VEHICLE, YOU'RE FINE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE AND NO RECALL. I GUESS SOMEONE HAS TO BE KILLED, FIRST.

LOCATED AT 5480 GA HIGHWAY 21 S, RINCON, GA 31326 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A CRANK VALVE FAILURE, WHICH WAS ALLOWING TO MUCH AIR INTO THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE DEALER WAS WAITING THE CRANK VALVE PARTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.

WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, MY STABILI TRACK LIGHT SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON AND MY REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT ALSO CAME ON AND COULDN'T ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC. I TURNED INTO A PARKING LOT AND RESTARTED THE CAR. SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAVE ON STAR, REPORTED THE PROBLEM.

IN ADDITION, THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY DIM AND DIMMER THAN THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURES, BUT THE REMEDIES FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN REPAIRED THE EXHAUST BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 634.
THIS VEHICLE HAS A PUSH BUTTON ENGINE SHUT OFF BUTTON. I WENT TO A SHOPPING MALL AND FORGOT TO SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN I RETURNED APPROX. 1 HOUR LATER, THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I AM CONCERNED SHOULD THIS HAPPEN WHEN I PARK THE AUTO IN MY CLOSED GARAGE WHICH IS LOCATED DIRECTLY BELOW A BEDROOM. THE ENGINE WILL BE RUNNING ALL NIGHT AND THE BEDROOM WILL BE FILLED WITH CARBON MONOXIDE RESULTING IN DEATH TO THE OCCUPANTS. THE VEHICLE NEEDS A TIME DELAY SHUT OFF SHOULD THE DRIVER FORGET TO SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE TIME DELAY COULD BE SET BY THE MANUFACTURER AND SHOULD BE APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 MINUTES OTHERWISE THE ENGINE WILL RUN FOREVER. *TR
