Your car has shut down or entered limp mode four times, leaving you stranded. During one incident on the highway, your car lost power suddenly, nearly causing another vehicle to rear-end you. Another time, your car stalled while idling at a traffic light and wouldn't restart. You've already had the fuel injector and fuel line replaced, and the engine control module has been updated, but the problem has returned. The dealer will need to diagnose the underlying cause, which may involve further fuel system components or engine control software adjustments.

Your fuel pump system has malfunctioned, causing your engine to shut off unexpectedly while driving — once in a parking lot and once at a traffic light, nearly causing a collision. Your check engine light came on multiple times before the dealership diagnosed a failed high-pressure fuel pump and fuel pump module that needed replacement. The repair involved replacing the fuel pump assembly, which costs around $1,100.

Your car lost power while driving uphill, and the check engine light came on. Two years later, the check engine light appeared again while driving at 40 mph. The dealer diagnosed a failing fuel pump and replaced it, but the same problem happened again just 9 days later. The repair likely involves replacing the fuel pump and possibly investigating the fuel system for other issues.

Check engine light on after picking it up from dealership.
Traveling 75 mph on a 3-lane highway when the car jerked (as if it was downshifted), started to rattle, and then ultimately a CE came on with the "Engine Power Reduced" warning on the dash. After a few close calls trying to merge over to the breakdown lane, I was able to rest safely and call for a tow. Unable to turn the car over after a few attempts, the car finally started back up after 5 seconds of cranking. Tow to certified Dealer where they confirmed 4 codes were being presented by the car. The codes are: P0089 - fuel pressure regulator performance P00C6 - fuel rail pressure low during engine cranking P228C - fuel pressure regulator 1 low pressure P0171 - fuel trim system lean The Dealer was unable to replicate the issue and is unable to fix or repair any part. Clearly, there is an issue with the Fuel Pump in these '23 Equinox's - just like the past model year!
