Your vehicle has developed a terrible odor inside the cabin. Based on forums, this issue appears to occur in Volkswagen vehicles when a small animal becomes trapped in the engine compartment, dies, and creates a foul smell. Resolving this will likely require locating and removing the deceased animal from the engine bay, and then cleaning or replacing affected components.
