While you were inspecting the vehicle with the key in the accessory position, the transmission engaged on its own and the vehicle drove forward without you shifting into gear, causing the door to close on you. This unexpected movement created a safety hazard during what should have been a routine diagnostic inspection. The issue may involve the transmission shift interlock system or related electrical components that prevent unwanted gear engagement.
