Your brake pads were found to need replacement during routine maintenance in February 2023, and the dealership ordered the wrong parts for your TRD Big Brake Kit. The correct brake pads remained on backorder from April through at least September, during which Toyota agreed to cover rental car costs while you waited. In December, Toyota informed you the parts wouldn't arrive until October 2024 and stopped covering rental expenses and repair costs. Your car has been out of service for months, and you're now facing the full cost of either waiting for the original TRD brake pads or downgrading to standard brakes. The fix will require either receiving the backordered TRD brake pads or purchasing and installing a standard brake system as a replacement.
