TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER, WHERE THE VALVE SPRING KEY WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,966. UPDATED 8/12/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE REPAIRS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE WERE DONE INCORRECTLY . THE VALVE KEY LOOSENED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO MISFIRE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 60 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL DAYS LATER WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING LIGHTS AND LOSS OF POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS THE AIR PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

2006 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. CONSUMER STATES MATS WOULD CONSTANTLY MOVE UNDER THE PEDALS INTERFERING WITH GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE WHILE DRIVING HIGH SPEEDS AND WHEN IT RAINS WATER WOULD LEAK INSIDE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER ASSURED HER, THEY HAD RECTIFIED THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE MATS AND MAKING SURE THE LINING AROUND THE WINDOWS WERE TIGHT. HOWEVER, THE LEAK CONTINUED AS WELL AS THE NOISE WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, THE NAVIGATION/RADIO,CD PLAYER WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY. THE DEALER WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP THE WATER FROM LEAKING IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER THEN STATED THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL/ HESITATE WHILE TURNING AND THEN IT WOULD JERK FAST AT TIMES. A DIAGNOSIS REVEALED THE TRANSMISSION PAN GASKET WAS LEAKING. ALSO THE POWER OUTLETS WERE NO LONGER WORKING, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO RIDE ROUGH, THE SEAT WOULD GRIND AND VIBRATE, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE BRAKE HARDWARE KIT WAS FALLING APART, THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING OIL AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE GASKETS, THE TRUNK WOULDN'T OPEN. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED. THE DEALER STATED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE DRAIN PLUG WAS MISSING. *JB

I OWN A 2006 TOYOTA SEQUOIA WITH 49,000. THIS IS MY SECOND SEQUOIA (PRIOR WAS A 2002 YEAR MODEL) SO I AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE CHARACTERISTICS AND NUANCES OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER PURCHASING THIS SEQUOIA, I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT WHILE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC, AT TRAFFIC SIGNALS, AND BEHIND OTHER VEHICLES, THE CAR WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATE AND LUNGE FORWARD MOVING THE CAR SEVERAL FEET FORWARD. THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THIS OCCURRED, I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN REAR-ENDED. I CAME TO REALIZE THAT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH A MOMENTARY SURGE IN THE ACCELERATOR. EVEN WITH YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, IT STILL CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD. MY WIFE AND I HAVE NEARLY STRUCK VEHICLES IN FRONT OF US. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DURING WARRANTY AND REPORTED THE INCIDENTS. OF COURSE WE RECEIVED THEIR STANDARD REPLY "WE COULD NOT GET YOUR VEHICLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM." WHEN QUESTIONED FURTHER, WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS PROBABLY WHEN THE A/C PUMP WAS COMING ON, AND IT ONLY FELT LIKE WE WERE MOVING BUT ACTUALLY WEREN'T, AND THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. WOULD MAKE SENSE, BUT THE VEHICLE DOES THIS WITH BOTH THE A/C ON AND THE A/C OFF THOUGH I MUST ADMIT IT SEEMS TO DO IT MORE FREQUENTLY DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS. PLUS, THIS NEVER HAPPENED WITH MY PREVIOUS SEQUOIA. ALSO, IT IS NOT OUR IMAGINATION THAT THE VEHICLE IS MOVING FORWARD. WE HAVE NEARLY STRUCK THE REAR END OF OTHER CARS AND MUST NOW STOP 8 - 10 FEET BEHIND OTHER VEHICLES. I LOOKED ON LINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS OTHER SEQUOIA OWNERS REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM, AND GETTING THE SAME RESPONSE FROM TOYOTA. BEING SOMEWHAT MECHANICALLY INCLINED, I TOO BELIEVE THIS IS AN ELECTRONIC/COMPUTER CONTROL PROBLEM. EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT AWARE OF THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM CAUSING DEATHS, PLEASE DON'T FORGET US AS IT IS STILL AN ACCELERATION PROBLEM, AND FOR WHAT WE PAID FOR THIS VEHICLE, WE ARE OWED BETTER THAN THEIR LAME EXCUSE.
