TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS UNDER THE VIN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.
THE VSC TRAC, VSC OFF, BRAKE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT ARE ALL ON ON THE DASH. THIS IS KNOWN PROBLEM WITH 1ST GENERATION TOYOTA SEQUOIA'S. TOYOTA ISSUED A RECALL ON THE 03 MODELS FOR THIS ISSUE AND PROVIDED A FIX AT THEIR EXPENSE. THE SAME ISSUE OCCURS IN OTHER MODEL YEARS BUT THERE IS NO OPEN RECALL FOR IT. DEALERSHIP WANTS APPROXIMATELY $2,000 TO REPLACE THE SKID CONTROL ECU.
2002 SEQUOIA SR5 MILAGE 150322. BEEN READING COMPLAINTS ON TRACTION CONTROL THAT TRAC OFF AND VAC TRAC LIGHTS TURN ON AND INSIDE CAB STARTS BEEPING AND GRINDING NOISE COMES FROM DRIVER SIDE WHEEL AND LOOSES RPM'S.THATS WHAT HAPPENING TO MY TRUCK ALSO. USED CODE SCANNER AT ITS SAYING ITS THE YAW SENSOR WHY HAVEN'T THIS ISSUE BEEN RECALLED.NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. IT'S DANGEROUS!!! WAS DRIVING 35 MPH AND THE STREET LIGHT TURNED RED. I PRESSED THE BREAK AND TRUCK SYARTED TO BEEP,SHAKE,AND GRIND, STARTED PUMPING BREAKS TRUCK WOULDN'T STOP AND WHEN IT DID WAS TO LATE HAD ALREADY PASSED THE RED LIGHT. I'VE COULD OF CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND SEVIERLY BEEN INJURED OR COULD OF INJURED SOMEBODY ELSE. LUCKY MY FAMILY WASN'T IN THE TRUCK AT THE TIME IT HAPPENED.
WE HAVE HAD THE VSC/TRAC FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS COME ON, WITH A GRINDING NOISE AND BEEPING ALARMS AS WE DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD AND/OR ON THE FREEWAY. THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES AND THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN. INCIDENT LASTS APPROXIMATELY 10-20 SECONDS. ONCE IT STOPS THE VSC/TRAC LIGHT COMES ON UNTIL YOU STOP DRIVING. THIS OCCURS RANDOMLY WHEN WE ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD OR ON THE FREEWAY. WE NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WE ARE NO LONGER DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON LONG DISTANCE ROAD TRIPS OR ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE WE ARE AFRAID THAT WE WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. WE FEEL IT IS A HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE THAT TOYOTA MUST ADDRESS IMMEDIATELY. *TR
WHEN I ENTERED THE FREEWAY, MY VSC TRAK AND VSC OFF LIGHTS CAME ON, AND THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT SUDDENLY. I EXITED THE FREEWAY, AND INSPECTED MY VEHICLE, TO FIND NOTHING VISIBLE. I RE-ENTERED THE FREEWAY, TRAVELED APPROX 100 MILES, WITH NO ISSUE. THEN, THE SAME EVENING, I EXITED THE TOLL ROAD NEAR MY HOME, WHEN THE VSC TRAK AND VSC OFF LIGHTS FLASHED AND BEEPED, AND BRAKES LOCKED UP ON AND OFF VIOLENTLY, AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS POSSESSED. I MANAGED TO GET IT HOME, AS I WAS ONLY ABOUT A MILE FROM THERE, WHERE I PARKED IT, AND HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP. THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO PULL A CODE...THE YAW SENSOR. BUT, THE MECHANIC SAID THAT HE COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT, AFTER TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT, AT ANY SPEED, AND WITH NO WARNING OR VISIBLE REASON FOR DOING SO. THIS POSES A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAYS AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THIS ISSUE COULD CAUSE A DEADLY DISASTER AT HIGH SPEEDS, AND WITH MANY OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT AN ISSUE TO IGNORE OR TAKE LIGHTLY.
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY TRAC AND VSC LIGHT COMING ON WHILE DRIVING. THE STABILITY LIGHT WOULD BLINK AND BEEP AND BOTH THE TRAC OFF AND VSC LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THE VSC/ABS INDICATOR LIGHTS APPEAR INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE CAR BEEPS, MAKES A HEAVY GRINDING NOISE AND THE ABS BRAKES ARE AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGED WITHOUT ANY ACTION BY THE DRIVER REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED, OR WHETHER DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY OR CITY STREET. THE CAR WILL FISHTAIL. BASED ON MY RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THESE VEHICLES AND THAT THERE WAS A 2003 RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. THIS DEFECT IN THE SAME MODEL FOR THE 2002 VEHICLES SEEMS TO BE WIDESPREAD. MUST WE FIRST HAVE AN ACCIDENT TO WIN RIGHTS TO BE ACCOMMODATED. DOES TOYOTA NOT WANT TO MAKE GOOD ON ITS PRODUCT AND SATISFY ALL OWNERS/CUSTOMERS. I WORRY EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY VEHICLE AND THANK GOD EACH TIME I REACH MY DESTINATION WITHOUT INCIDENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND VEERED TO THE LEFT AS THE VSC WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE YAW RATE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
THE FIRST TIME MY ABS/VCS TRAC LIGHTS CAME ON WAS AFTER I HAD TO BRAKE HARD ON A DOWNWARD HILL. I ACCELERATED TO CLIMB THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HILL AND IT WAS AFTER DOING THAT WHICH THE VCS TRAC AND TRAC OFF LIGHTS FIRST CAME ON AT AROUND 168,000 MILES. THERE WAS A FAST BEEPING SOUND LASTING FOR MAYBE 10 SEC THEN IT REGAINED POWER. NOW IT WILL DO IT WITHIN JUST A FEW MILES OF OUR HOME. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL MORE OCCASIONS SINCE THIS INITIAL INCIDENT WHERE THERE WAS A JERKING/PULLING OF THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. ALSO THE AIR CONDITIONING WOULD COME ON AND OFF LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO SURGE. ALSO IDLES VERY LOW, BELOW 500 RPM AND THEN FINALLY SHUTS OFF. THIS VEHICLE HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. WE ARE NOT SURE WHAT TO GET FIXED ON IT SINCE WE HAVE READ THAT OTHER OWNERS ARE BEING TOLD THAT ITS ANYTHING FROM A YAW SENSOR, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR, BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM, OR A SKID CONTROL COMPUTER ISSUE. ALL OF THESE ARE VERY PRICEY TO GET FIXED AND THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES THAT THEY WILL EVEN CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MOST HAVE HAD THE YAW SENSOR REPLACED AND IT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. SOME OF THE MECHANICS WE HAVE TALKED TO SAID THAT THERE COULD BE BRAKE DUST OR MUD AND ROAD GRIME BUILD UP OVER THE SENSOR MAKING IT MALFUNCTION AND THAT IT SHOULD BE HOSED OFF AT AN UNDERBODY CARWASH. WE HAVEN'T TRIED THIS YET SINCE WE DIDN'T PUT MUCH FAITH IN IT UNTIL WE DISCOVERED HEARING AGAIN ON YOUTUBE. THE 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA VCS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED DOWN TO THE 2002 MODELS AS WELL. WE ALL ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE THAT THEY DID.
AFTER DRIVING 45 MILES THEN DRIVING IN A BUSY TOWN THEN BACK 45 MILES TO HOME TOWN I WAS GOING 55 MPH AND ALL THE SUDDEN I LOST POWER, A DINGING NOISE HAPPENED AND I LOST BREAKAGE, THE VCS OFF AND VCS TRACK LIGHT CAME ON, THE VEHICLE START DRIVING ROUGH. I THEN WENT HOME. THEN AFTER A FEW HOUR I HAD TO GO GET MY SON I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE LIGHTS WERE OFF, AFTER ONLY GOING 3 MILES AND WITH MY SON IN THE VEHICLE IT MADE THE DING NOISE LOST POWER LIGHTS VCS OFF VCS TRAK LIGHTS CAME BACK ON, VERY SCARY, HOPE THEY RECALL IT SOON, MY SEQUOIA WAS MADE AUGUST 2002. *TR
THE VSC RANDOMLY ACTIVATED TWICE WITHIN 10-15 MINUTES WHILE TRAVELING ON A DRY, CLEAN INTERSTATE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE CONSIDERABLY. THERE WERE NO EXTERNAL CIRCUMSTANCES THAT APPEARED TO CAUSE THIS INCIDENT. WEATHER CONDITIONS: CLEAR SKIES, SUNSHINE, 80 DEGREES, DRY, LEVEL ROADS. AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT, WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY DEALERSHIP. WE SINCE LEARNED THE 2003 SEQUOIA APPARENTLY HAD A RECALL REGARDING THIS SAME SITUATION. *TR
VEHICLE MAKES A SPUTTERING NOISE AT ACCELERATION AND COASTING SPEED. EVEN AT STOP. SOUNDS LIKE A MISFIRE AND THUD AT SOME POINTS. CAUSES A LOSS IN POWER AND JERK. *JS

WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 35, MY TRUCK SUDDENLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT, STARTED TO SHAKE AND A BEEPING ALARM CAME ON, THE PICTURE OF THE VECHICLE SKIDDING ALSO LIT UP AND THE TRAC OFF AND VSC TRAC ALSO LIT UP AND STAYED ON. UPON PULLING OVER AND CUTTING THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTING THE VECHICLE, THE LIGHTS WHERE NO LONGER LIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY HAVE PLACED A MACHINE ON IT TO SEE IF IT REGISTARS ANYTHING, AND NOTHING SHOWS UP. THIS REALLY SCARED ME AND DAUGHTERS TRACK TEAM MATES, BECAUSE WE WHERE NOT EXPECTING THIS. THIS IS THE ONLY VECHICLE I HAVE AT THIS TIME TO DRIVE, DO TO MY HUSBAND BEING DEPLOYED. TOYOTA SAYS THAT THEY HAVE NO RECALLS, BUT THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR

I HAVE A 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA & HAVE HAD ABOUT 10 INSTANCES SINCE THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST 2014 WHERE THE TRAC OFF, TRAC VSC, AND SLIP INDICATOR LIGHTS ALL COME ON WHILE THE TRUCK FEELS LIKE IT LOCKS UP AND A BEEPING NOISE OCCURS ALL WHILE DRIVING. TODAY AUGUST 21, 2014 WHILE MAKING A U-TURN MY TRUCK FAILED TO ACCELERATE FOR A FEW SECONDS (I REALLY HAD TO PUSH HARD ON THE GAS TO GET IT TO GO). I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL INSTANCES OF THE SAME OR SIMILAR SITUATIONS ON VARIOUS SITES. APPARENTLY TOYOTA RECALLED THE 2003 MODELS FOR THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL BUT DID NOT INCLUDE THE 2002'S ALTHOUGH THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON MULTIPLE OTHER YEARS INCLUDING THE 2002. IT WOULD BE HORRIBLE IF SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED BEFORE TOYOTA TAKES THIS SERIOUSLY. *TR
FIRST INCIDENT: ON THE FREEWAY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN MADE A BEEPING SOUND (SIMILAR TO NO SEAT BELT SOUND) VEHICLE LOST POWER ALMOST LIKE IT DOWNSHIFTED. VSC, TRAC OFF LIGHTS ALL CAME ON AND THE CAR WOULDN'T BRAKE! I HAD TO CONSISTENTLY PUMP ON THE BRAKE AND PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO SLOW IT DOWN. BRAKES WERE GRINDING AND IT FELT AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO LOCK BUT YET SKIPPING (CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUCK). PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE, TURNED OFF ENGINE, AND THEN RESUMED. I HAD TO PULL OVER 5 SEPARATE TIMES DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE. LUCKILY I ALLOWED MYSELF A HUGE SPACE IN BETWEEN MYSELF AND OTHER CARS. IF NOT, THERE WOULD HAD BEEN A FOR SURE ACCIDENT. CAR CONTINUES WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. I'VE DONE A WHOLE LOT OF RESEARCHING IN REGARDS TO THIS VEHICLE AND IT SEEMS THAT IT'S A ECU ISSUE. I AM AWARE THAT TOYOTA HAS RECALLED ALL 2003 MODEL SEQUOIA'S ON UP BUT NOT 2002 ON UNDER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN OF MINE AND EVEN IF I PURCHASED A NEW ECU THERE IS NOT GUARANTEE THAT IT'S BEEN ADDRESSED OR FIXED FOR THIS MODEL. ACCORDING TO THE TOYOTA REP. I WAS LEAVING A PARKING LOT MAKING YIELDING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN ONTO A MAIN RIGHT WHEN SUDDENLY MY CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING OR BRAKES. THE VSC TRAC AND TRAC LIGHT SENSOR LIGHTS CAME ONE AND I HEARD THIS AWFUL GRINDING NOISE. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE HOME SLOWLY ON BACK ROADS. ONCE I GOT HOME I LOOKED THE PROBLEM UP ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THAT TOYOTA HAD A RECALL ON THE 2003 MODEL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT NOT THE 2002. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WILL COST ANYWHERE FROM $1500-$4000 TO FIX. MY CAR ONLY HAS 114,000 MILES ON IT AND I FIND THIS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. *TR
WAS TRAVELING ALONG ROAD AT 20 MPH AND THE VSC LIGHTS CAME ON. NOW OUT OF NOWHERE MY VEHICLE WILL MAKE AN AUDIBLE SOUND AND START RUMBLING AND PULLING TO THE RIGHT AND SLOWING BUT WON'T ALLOW ME TO BRAKE. THIS CAN LAST ANYWHERE FROM 10 SECONDS TO 30 SECONDS. SOMETIMES THE PICTURE OF THE CAR WITH THE SKID MARKS WILL LIGHT UP (EVEN ON DRY ROADS) OTHER TIMES THE ABS LIGHT WILL COME ON. ONCE THE BEEPING AND VIBRATIONS STOP, THE VSC TRAC AND VSC OFF LIGHTS REMAIN ON UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF. I DRIVE 30 MILES EACH WAY TO WORK DAILY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY AS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TRIGGERS THE EPISODES. *TR

CAR WAS GOING 20MPH ON DRY PAVEMENT. ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC) ACTIVATED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE AND SLOWDOWN. WHEN THE VSC IS ENGAGED CAR IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAPPEN ON MULTIPLE TIMES WITH CAR GOING 20-40MPH. I AM AFRAID TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AT STOP SIGNS ON SLIPPERY ROADS. THE VSC SYSTEM REACTS AND THE TRUCK WILL NOT MOVE BECAUSE I CANNOT ACCELERATE. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, IN DRY CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE SKID CONTROL (VSC) AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM (TRAC) WARNING LIGHTS SUDDENLY BEGAN FLASHING AND BEEPING. THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND A LOUD GRINDING NOISE CAME FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL AS THE ABS SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED. WHEN TAKING THE NEXT HIGHWAY OFFRAMP AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE WARNING LIGHTS AND GRINDING STARTED AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEN THE BRAKING WAS OVERRIDDEN BY THE ABS! ONLY AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING DID THE WARNING LIGHTS TURN OFF. THE 2003 SEQUOIA WAS RECALLED FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE 2002 SEQUOIA SHOULD ALSO BE RECALLED. THE TRACTION CONTROL, VSC LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY TO LET THE CAR REST AND SO THAT I COULD CHECK EVERYTHING OUT. EVERYTHING APPEARED FINE, SO I CONTINUED ON MY JOURNEY. THE LIGHTS STAYED ON FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 50 MILE TRIP, BUT NO FURTHER INCIDENT OCCURRED. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR THE NEXT MORNING, THE LIGHTS WERE OFF. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD AN ECU SKID CONTROL FAILURE. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED AT LEAST FOUR TIMES PRIOR WITH THIS VEHICLE, STARTING WHEN THE CAR WAS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND HAD APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES. ALL FOUR TIMES THE CAR HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. *TR
I HAVE EXPERIENCED CHILLING AND DANGEROUS MALFUNCTIONS OF THE ABS, VSC/TRACK SYSTEM IN MY (OWNED SINCE NEW) 2002 SEQUOIA. THE "VSC/VSC TRACK" LIGHTS ILLUMINATE AND A DISCONNECT ALARM (BEEPING TONE) IS INITIATED. THE SYSTEM FAILURE PULLS THE CAR ABRUPTLY OFF COURSE. IMMEDIATE CORRECTION MUST BE MADE TO STAY ON THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WITHIN THE PAST 6 MONTHS WITH THE SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY RE-SETTING ITSELF AFTER TURNING OFF THE KEY AND RE-STARTING THE ENGINE. TODAY'S INCIDENT WAS THE MOST VIOLENT AND THE SYSTEM DOES NOT RE-SET. PROBABLY A GOOD THING. PROBLEM BEGAN IN 2009 WHEN THE VSC LOCKED UP ON MY HUSBAND WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. THIS INCIDENT WAS REPORTED TO YOU AND A COMPLAINT FILED. WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOYOTA OF ESCONDIDO, WE WERE TOLD IT CHECKED OUT FINE. THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON AN OFF..TAKEN IN AGAIN, THEY PULLED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND FOUND IT REGISTERED THE CAR HAD A TOTAL ROLLOVER..SO NOT THE CASE! TOYOTA HAD NO ANSWER, SAYING MAYBE COMPUTER MALFUNCTION..THEY DID NOTHING! OVER THE YEAR THE LIGHT HAS COME ON AND OFF RANDOMLY, WHEN TAKEN IN FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE, WE HAVE BEEN TOLD IT "CHECKS OUT FINE". ON 12/22/2010 I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AND NOTICED A FEELING OF TOTAL TIGHTNESS OVER THE VEHICLE. THE VSC LIGHT WAS ON. WHEN PUT IN DRIVE (I HAD BEEN IN REVERSE) THE CAR WAS FINE AND THE FEELING GONE..LIGHT AS WELL. ONE HOUR LATER, I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT IN HEAVY HOLIDAY TRAFFIC. AS THE LINE BEGAN TO SLOWLY MOVER FORWARD, I LIGHTLY TOUCHED THE GAS..IMMEDIATELY THE CAR WAS OVERCOME WITH THE TIGHT FEELING AND LIGHTS CAME ON AND A DEEP GRINDING NOISE STARTED. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS PUSHING FORWARD AND COULD NOT STEER..I LOOKED DOWN THINKING I WAS ON THE GAS..MY FOOT WAS 100% ON THE BRAKE..ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THE CAR WAS PUSHING FORWARD! I LOOKED UP AND WATCHED AS MY HUGE SEQUOIA CRUMPLED UP INTO MY WINDSHIELD..THEN THE CAR SHUT DOWN. THE CAR IN FRONT OF MY HAD LITTLE (POPPING NOISE IN TRUNK) TO NO DAMAGE! AIRBAGS NEVER EJECTED. TOWED AND INCOPERABLE AT THE TIME. CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED FOR DAMAGE BY INSURANCE AND TOYOTA. *TR
I HAVE OWNED A 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA SINCE 2006. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN OCCURRING IN THE WINTER OF 2007 WITH THE VSC, VSC TRAC, AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS ALL COMING ON. THIS KEPT CONTINUING ANYTIME I WAS DRIVING IN WET SNOWY CONDITIONS. I BEGAN TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM ON LINE AND IT SEEMS THERE ARE MANY CASES OF THIS ON 2001-2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIAS. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY COMPUTER CODES RELATING TO THIS ISSUE. AT THE END OF LAST WINTER THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BECOME WORSE. EVEN IN DRY CONDITIONS ON DRY PAVEMENT THE VSC COMPUTER BEGINS TO TAKE OVER ACCELERATION AND VERY OFTEN! AND SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS COME ON AND SOMETIMES NOT. AGAIN I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THERE TO BE A TOYOTA RECALL ON 2003 SEQUOIAS ONLY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN AFFECTING MY SEQUOIA! I CALLED TOYOTA, THEY GAVE ME A CASE # AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALER. I TOOK IT BACK TO A TOYOTA DEALER AND AGAIN THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE LIGHTS TURNING ON OR FIND ANY COMPUTER CODES CONCERNING THE PROBLEM. THAT WAS APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS AGO AND STILL THE PROBLEM PERSISTS LEADING UP TO YESTERDAYS ACCIDENT. I DROVE UP TO THE MOUNTAINS TO GO SNOWBOARDING. WHEN WE LEFT THE RESORT IT WAS SNOWING VERY HEAVY. I NOTICED THE ABS, VSC, AND VSC TRAC LIGHTS COME ON AGAIN, AS I WAS EXPECTING THEM TO. WE DROVE ABOUT 7 MILES DOWN THE ROAD THEN I WAS MOVING IN TO THE LEFT TURNING LANE OF A TRAFFIC LIGHT. OUR SPEED WAS ONLY 15-20 MPH, AND WHEN I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN THE WHEELS LOCKED UP AND WE BEGAN SLIDING. I LET OFF THE BRAKES AND TRIED THEM AGAIN TO NO AVAIL. I LET OFF THE BRAKES AND TRIED TO MISS THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BY GOING TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THEM OVER A SMALL MEDIAN AS THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC COMING TOWARDS US IN THE INTERSECTION. BUT MY REAR TIRE BOUNCED ME OFF THE MEDIAN AND INTO THE VEHICLE.THE DAMAGE WAS MINOR AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. I BELIEVE THIS ACCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE ABS AND VSC SYSTEM WAS WORKING PROPERLY. I BELIEVE THE RECALL SHOULD INCLUDE 01 AND 02 SEQUOIAS. *TR
SINCE END OF JUNE 2010, I HAD TO HAVE MY 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA TOWED BECAUSE IT HAD STARTED TO VEER OFF AND THE WHEEL BECAME STIFF AND I COULDN'T CONTROL THE STEERING. THE VSC LIGHTS CAME ON AS WELL AS THE "SQUIGGLY CAR" LIGHT. I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE IT AGAIN AS I WAS 100 MILES AWAY FROM HOME, SO I HAD IT TOWED. I HAD TAKEN IT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE BEARINGS BUT COULDN'T DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE I HAD FELT AS FAR AS THE VSC INCIDENT. THEY CHARGED ME FOR INSPECTION BUT SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG AND SENT ME HOME WITH THE CAR. I EXPERIENCED THIS FOR A FEW DAYS AND FINALLY TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO REPAIR. THEY DID A ZERO RECALIBRATING AND SAW THERE WAS ISSUES ON THE COMPUTER COMING UP BUT COULDN'T ALSO EXACTLY PINPOINT WHAT WAS WRONG. IT TOOK A WEEK BEFORE I GOT IT BACK AS IT DIDN'T REOCCUR WITH THEM. THE FOLLOWING DAY AS I DROVE IT, THE VSC LIGHTS AND SQUIGGLY CAR LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. EVERY TIME I MADE A TURN IT SEEMED IT JUMPED AND IT WOULDN'T GAIN ACCELERATION QUICKLY WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS. PLUS IT MADE THIS LOUD NOISE AS IF SOMETHING WAS RUBBING AND IT WOULD SLOW DOWN , THEN AFTER A FEW SECONDS, REGAIN SPEED. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND THEY REPLACED THE YAW SENSOR. THE FOLLOWING DAY, AGAIN TAKING THE STREETS IT SEEMED THAT EVERYTIME I STOPPED AND PRESSED AGAIN IT SHIFTED SOMETHING AS I FELT IT UNDER THE PEDALS, THE VSC LIGHTS WOULD TURN ON BUT THEN TURN OFF AND THEN FINALLY REGAIN SPEED. EACH AND EVERY TIME I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND THEN PRESSED ON THE GAS, IT DID THIS. I FINALLY LOOKED UP A RECALL THAT ONE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME ABOUT AND NOTICED THE 2003 RECALL FOR TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM. HOWEVER TOYOTA WILL NOT HELP SINCE MY CAR IS 2002, HENCE WHY I'M COMPLAINING ABOUT IT NOW. I BELIEVE THE EXACT THING IS WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY CAR. WHILE DRIVING MY 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA, I PULLED INTO TRAFFIC AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK LOST POWER AS CARS SWERVED AROUND ME AND A VIOLENT GRINDING NOISE STARTED. A SKID CONTROL LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I COULD FEEL THE GRINDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE TRUCK BEEPED AND 2 MORE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE "TRAC OFF" AND "VSC" CAME ON. AFTER THAT THE TRUCK DROVE NORMAL. THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED THAT DAY WAS WHILE I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN INTO A GAS STATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES NOW! I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE ON THE ROAD AS THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN AT ANY MOMENT. I HAVE READ ALL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. TRAC LIGHT/VSC LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THEN THE CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND A GRINDING NOISE SOUNDING LIKE THE ANTI-LOCKING BRAKE MECHANISM IS ACTIVATING. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION. I'VE SEEN THAT THE 2003 MODEL HAS A RECALL OUT FOR THE SAME THING, AND AFTER SEEING MANY OTHERS HAVING THIS SAME OCCURRENCE WITH THE 2002 MODEL, THEY SHOULD EXPAND THE DATE RANGE TO COVER THE 2002 AS WELL! IT HAPPENED TWICE THIS WEEKEND AND IT'S HAPPENED 4-5 TIMES PREVIOUS TO THIS RECENT INCIDENT (ONE EARLIER INCIDENT HAD MY STEPDAUGHTER DRIVING THE SEQUOIA AND THE POWER SHUT COMPLETELY OFF WHILE DRIVING!). THE MECHANICS TOLD US THEY COULDN'T PULL ANY RELATED CODES THE FIRST TIME WE TOOK IT IN. WE NEED TO TAKE THIS IN AGAIN IMMEDIATELY, BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY THE FULL PRICE WHEN THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE PART THEY'VE CREATED? I WAS TRAVELING AT 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE-10 THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED THIS PAST WEEKEND AND IN-TOWN AT A SLOWER SPEED (40 MPH) THE SECOND INCIDENT. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN ACCELERATING AT APPROXIMATE SPEEDS OF 25-30 MPH ON WET PAVEMENT, AROUND CURVES OR WHEN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE WAS HESITANT TO INCREASE SPEED. THE VEHICLE WOULD DRIVE AS NORMAL WHEN THE CONTACT REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC) AND VSC TRACTION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER RESET THE WARNING LIGHTS BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE DEALER ADVISED ANY FURTHER REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000

WE'VE EXPERIENCED A LACK OF ACCELERATION ON OUR 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA,DEALER HAS NOT FOUND THE PROBLEM. ON SATURDAY MAY 6TH AT APPROX. 11:30 PM, AS WE EXITED THE FREEWAY WITH WIFE AND EIGHT YEAR OLD TRIPLETS, THE VEHICLE BASICALLY DIED OUT. THE ENGINE WAS STILL ON BUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. I LET THE VEHICLE ROLL AND PULLED OVER WHERE IT WAS SAFE. A RECENT ANNOUNCEMENT REFERS TO A RECALL OF SEQUOIAS WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT ONLY FOR THE 2003 MODEL. I'VE READ VARIOUS POSTS ABOUT OWNERS OF OTHER MODELS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE SO I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEMS IS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN WHAT TOYOTA IS ADMITTING AT THIS POINT. THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
ABOUT A YEAR AGO, I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS THAT'S RELATED TO THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC) SYSTEM ON MY 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE PROBLEM OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY AND WHEN IT DOES OCCURS, IT HAPPENS DURING INITIAL ACCELERATION. DURING THIS TIME, THE VSC LIGHT WOULD START BLINKING AND I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE. BRAKING WOULD REQUIRE TREMENDOUS FORCE APPLIED TO ACTIVATE IT. THERE WAS AT LEAST ONE INCIDENT WHERE THE VSC ACTIVATED DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING, BUT THAT INCIDENT LASTED APPROXIMATELY 5 OR SO SECONDS. HOWEVER, IT DID REQUIRE THAT I SUDDENLY APPLY THE BRAKE AND STARTED PUMPING IT FOR THE VSC TO DE-ACTIVATE. DUE TO THE INTERMITTENT NATURE, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY DID FIND THAT ERROR CODES WERE PRESENT RELATING TO THE VSC. THOUGH THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE PINPOINTED ON THE INITIAL VISIT TO THE REPAIR SHOP. SUBSEQUENT OCCURRENCES PROMPTED ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC. EVENTUALLY IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME TO REPLACE THE "SPEED SENSORS" WHICH I AUTHORIZED. AFTER THE REPLACEMENT, THE PROBLEM TEND TO HAVE GONE AWAY. RECENTLY, I STARTED TO INTERMITTENTLY EXPERIENCE A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH VSC LIGHT BLINKING BRIEFLY WHENEVER I PULL OUT OF A DRIVE WAY PERFORMING AT LEAST AN 80 DEGREE TURN. THIS TIME AROUND THE PROBLEM ISN'T AS SEVERE AND IS VERY INFREQUENT. I WOULD SAY IN A WEEK OF COMMUTING, I WOULD EXPERIENCE IT MAYBE ONCE OR TWICE. OF COURSE THIS IS COMPARED TO PREVIOUS INCIDENTS WHERE I WAS EXPERIENCING THE VSC PROBLEM ALMOST HALF THE TIME. EARLIER THIS WEEK, I READ THERE WAS A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA RECALL WHICH HAS THE EXACT SYMPTOM AND PROBLEM I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING ON MY 2002 SEQUOIA. I NOTED TODAY THE RECALL OF 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA'S DUE TO ISSUES WITH THE VSC SYSTEM. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE 2002 MODELS AS I HAVE HAD RECURRING ISSUES WITH THE VSC SINCE DAY 1. AT LOW SPEED, PARTICULARLY ON GRADES OR WHILE MAKING SHARP TURNS, THE VSC WILL CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO TEMPORARILY LOSE POWER. I HAVE REPORTED THIS ON SEVERAL OCCASION BOTH TO TOYOTA AND VIA TELEPHONE. IT IS SO BAD THAT I NOW KNOW LOCATIONS ON MY REGULAR DRIVES DURING WHICH THIS WILL OCCUR. THIS ISSUE ALSO OCCURS GOING OVER SLIGHTLY JARRING BUMPS SUCH AS STEEP SPEEDBUMPS OR POTHOLES. HELLO, I'M IN THE MILITARY AND MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE DRIVING IN OUR 2002 SEQUOIA 4X4, SHE CALLED ME AT WORK CRYING AND SAID THAT HER AND THE KIDS HAD ALMOST HIT A 18 WHEELER HEAD ON. WE OWN A 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA IN WHICH THE VSC TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS HAVE COME ON THE DASH ALONG WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE TRACTION CONTROL HAS BEEN UNPREDICTABLE SEEMINGLY COMING ON AND OFF IN CONDITIONS WHEN NOT NECESSARILY NEEDED. THIS HAS ONLY BEEN A PROBLEM WITHIN THE LAST TWO/THREE MONTHS. HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES NOW AND THE CODE FROM THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SAYS THAT ITS AN 02 SENSOR. I HAVE BEEN REASSURED BY THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT REPLACING THE 02 SENSOR WILL ALSO RESET AND EXTINGUISH THE VSC TRAC AND BRAKE LIGHTS THAT COME ON. THIS HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE. THE LIGHTS STAY OFF UNTIL I GET THE VEHICLE ALMOST HOME THEN ALL THE LIGHTS COME BACK ON AGAIN, THE TRACTION CONTROL REMAINS UNPREDICTABLE. I HAVE LISTENED TO THE DEALERSHIP LONG ENOUGH AND HAVE SPENT APPROXIMATELY $800.00 AND STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE EXPRESSED MY DISBELIEF ON HOW REPLACING 02 SENSOR ( TWICE NOW) CAN FIX A PROBLEM WITH THE VSC TRACTION CONTROL BUT THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THAT IT TAKES CARE OF IT. IT OBVIOUSLY HASN'T. THEY NOW WANT ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK IN. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH THE 2002-2004 SEQUOIA'S. THE PROBLEM BEING WITH THE VSC TRACTION CONTROL. I AM SURE THAT IF I BRING IT BACK NOW THEY WILL TELL ME THAT IT NEEDS A NEW TRACTION CONTROL COMPUTER TO THE TUNE OF $1700-$2400 AND FROM READING WHAT OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO REALLY FIND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM AND HOW TO FIX IT. I AM NORMALLY NOT A COMPLAINER AS I REALIZE ALL MECHANICAL PARTS WEAR OUT. WHILE TURNING A CORNER AT AN INTERSECTION IN D POSITION, SUDDENLY THERE WAS NO POWER TO THE WHEELS WHILE PRESSING GAS PEDAL, ABS, VSC AND TRAC AND CEL LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT, HAD THERE BEEN MORE TRAFFIC. AFTER PULLING TO THE SHOULDER WITH REMAINING SPEED OF VEHICLE, TURNED INTO P, THEN BACK INTO D, VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD WITH CRUNCHING NOISE WHILE PRESSING BRAKES FIRMLY! SHUT OFF VEHICLE, RESTARTED, THEN DROVE OK, BUT ABOVE MENTIONED LIGHTS STAYED ON FOR A AN HOUR. LATER THAT EVENING, THE WARNING LIGHTS TURNED BACK OFF TO NORMAL. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT WE HAD A SIMILAR INCIDENT INVOLVING LOSS OF POWER IN COMBINATION WITH VSC TRAC AND CEL WARNING LIGHTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER. *TR
VSC TRAC,VSC OFF,ALL ON AT ONCE.OBD II CODES POINT TO SPEED SENSOR,BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH AND ABS COMPUTER MALFUNCTION. DEALER RECOMMENDS CHANGING BRAKE BOOSTER AND ABS COMPUTER SYSTEM. FROM THE AVAILABLE INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET THIS IS VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR FIRST GENERATION TOYOTA SEQUOIAS. THE RPMS WOULD IDLE EXTREMELY HIGH AND THE VEHICLE WOULD ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE. HE HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL HARD ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING FORWARD. THERE WERE NO RECALLS DESCRIBING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 99,500.

OUR VSC STARTED ACTING UP WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 2-1/2 YEARS AGO FROM CARMAX. AFTER OWNING IT FOR NOT MORE THAN 2 MONTHS THE VSC LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND STAY ON UNTIL WE WOULD TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THEN THE COMPUTER WOULD RESET ITSELF. THEN OUR BACK PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEARING WENT BAD AND WE HAD TOYOTA FIX THE WHEEL BEARING PROBLEM. TOYOTA STATED THAT AFTER THEY FIXED THE BEARING THE VSC COMPUTER WOULDN'T COMMUNICATE WITH THE WHEEL THAT WAS FIXED. THEY KNEW THE VSC COMPUTER WENT BAD AND TOLD US THEY WOULDN'T FIX IT FOR FREE. IT WOULD COST $900.00 TO FIX THE FAULTY VSC COMPUTER. WE NEEDED AN INSPECTION STICKER AND THEY PASSED THE VEHICLE WITH ALL THE VSC LIGHTS AND RED BRAKE LIGHT ON. THIS MEANS THAT THE VEHICLE IS VERY UNSTABLE TO DRIVE. OUR SON HAS LEUKEMIA SO WE HAVEN'T HAD THE MONEY TO FIX THE ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE NEEDS AN INSPECTION STICKER. THE LOCAL INSPECTION PLACE IN TEXAS SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT PASS THIS VEHICLE IF THE RED BRAKE LIGHT IS ON. TOYOTA KNOWS THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS VSC COMPUTER IN THIS 2002 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. *TR
TODAY ON MY WAY HOME, THE VSC OFF AND VSC TRAC LIGHTS CAME ON. WHENEVER I APPLY MY BRAKES, THE CAR SHAKES A LOT. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE ROTORS BUT I NOW THINK IT WAS THIS SYSTEM TURNING ON WHEN IT WASN'T SUPPOSE TO. ON THE WAY HOME TODAY, MY SEQUOIA DID NOT SHAKE AT ALL. THERE ARE A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF THREADS ON TUNDRASOLUTIONS AND EDMUNDS ABOUT THESE LIGHTS COMING ON WITH 00-03 TOYOTA SEQUOIAS. MOST EVERYONE HAS HAD TO HAVE A COMPUTER REPLACED BECAUSE OF THIS. QUOTES FOR THIS ARE BETWEEN $1,500 AND $2,500. I DON'T HAVE THAT TYPE OF MONEY AND I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SO MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE A FEW MONTHS AGO BECAUSE WE EXPECTING OUR SECOND CHILD AND NEEDED A LARGER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN PULLING TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER REPLACED A GASKET THAT WAS COVERED IN BRAKE FLUID. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME FAILURE, WITH THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE ON OCTOBER 1, 2007. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SKID CONTROL COMPUTER FAILED AND WOULD COST $2,500 TO REPLACE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,330 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
TRAC OFF AND VSC TRAC LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY TURN ON, SOMETIMES WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND SOMETIMES WHEN VEHICLE IS IN IDLE. WHILE IN MOTION, IF TRAC OFF AND VSC TRAC LIGHTS TURN ON, BEEPING OCCURS, GRINDING OR "WHIRRING" NOISES ARE AUDIBLE AND BRAKES CANNOT BE DEPRESSED. SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT, I'VE CHANGED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL AND FOUND SMALL METAL BITS IN THE OIL. *JB
