VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS
Toyota Motor Company (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2011 Tundra, Sequoia, Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Scion xB, 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2007 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2006-2011 RAV4, 2006-2010 Yaris, and 2009-2010 Scion xD and Pontiac Vibe vehicles. During the manufacturing of the Power Window Master Switch (PWMS), grease lubricant may have been inconsistently applied to the sliding electrical contacts.
Fix: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the switch, applying a lubricant if no abnormality is found. If abnormality is found, the PWMS circuit board will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 20, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is C0M.
VISIBILITY/WIPER
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2012 RAV4 vehicles manufactured October 27, 2008, to December 19, 2012 and 2012-2014 RAV4 EV vehicles manufactured July 24, 2012, to August 29, 2014. In the affected vehicles, water may drip onto the joint that connects the wiper linkage to the wiper motor.
Fix: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the water diverter channel. In addition, a new wiper linkage with a wiper motor crank arm will be installed. The wiper linkage will have a protective cover over the wiper linkage joint to minimize water splash and a retainer ring to prevent the wiper arm from separating from the wiper motor. The recall began on November 7, 2016. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service number at 1-800-331-4331.

Your moonroof glass fractured on its own while you were driving, even though there was no impact or collision. This happened at 187,000 miles. You've scheduled a dealer appointment but the car hasn't been diagnosed or repaired yet. The repair will likely involve replacing the moonroof glass panel.

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY, THE SUNROOF SUDDENLY CRACKED AND THEN SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS NO DEBRIS (ROCK, BOLT) ETC FOUND IN THE GLASS ONCE WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER AND LOOK AT THE DAMAGE. THE GLASS APPEARS TO HAVE BOWED UPWARD AND AWAY FROM THE FRAME AND THEN SHATTERED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MULLER TOYOTA (2019 NJ-31, CLINTON, NJ 08809, (908) 638-4100) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SUN VISOR WAS NOT A SAFETY HAZARD. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT A SAFETY HAZARD AND THAT THE VISOR WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
THE DRIVER'S SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY IN THE CLOSED POSITION & IS CONSTANTLY FALLING DOWN, WHICH OBSTRUCTS MY VIEW. THE ATTACHED PHOTO SHOWS THE VISOR AS CLOSED AT IT WILL STAY. I HAVE CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM, DESPITE THE FACT THAT ON SEVERAL MESSAGE BOARDS NUMEROUS OWNERS REPORT THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW DATING BACK TO PRIOR RAV4 GENERATIONS.
MOONROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED WHILE SITTING PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. HOLE PROTRUDED OUTWARD WHICH INDICATES BUILD UP OF PRESSURE AND HEAT CAME FROM WITHIN THE VEHICLE AND NOT OUTSIDE FROM FOREIGN OBJECT. ENGINEERS ON ABC ALSO CONCLUDE THE GLASS IS DEFECTIVE AND INFERIOR TO HANDLE THE PRESSURE. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT.

I COULDN'T FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO SEND THIS INFO. THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT. REGARDING THE WIPER, WE HAD AN INTERIM RECALL, WE WENT TO THE DEALER, THEY FIXED IT, BUT THE RECORD YOU HAVE SAYS INCOMPLETE. I JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT IT HAS BEEN FIXED.IT WAS FIXED BEFORE WE EVEN HAD THE FINAL RECALL NOTICE.

MY DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR HANGS DOWN ABOUT 1.5 INCH FROM THE CEILING ALL THE TIME. IT DOES NOT STAY UP CLOSE TO THE TOP AT ALL AND IT BLOCKS MY VIEW. IT IS HARD TO SEE THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH IT HANGING DOWN SO I HAVE TO HOLD IT UP WITH ONE HAND WHILE DRIVING. I HIT MY HEAD ON IT A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE GETTING INTO THE CAR. I CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON SUN VISORS FOR RAV 4. I WILL HAVE TO GET IT FIXED FROM THE DEALER WHO CHARGES APPROX. $150. I CAME ACROSS MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM FROM RAV4 AND CAMRY OWNERS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE AND IT CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND HEAD INJURIES. TOYOTA HAD A RECALL ON VISORS FOR CAMRY AND NOT FOR RAV4. I AM DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED THAT TOYOTA IS NOT TAKING ANY ACTION ON THIS ISSUE.
I PURCHASED A 2010 TOYOTA RAV4 JANUARY 2010. LIVING IN MAINE, WINTER DRIVING IS UNAVOIDABLE. MY COMPLAINT IS ABOUT THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER, WHICH IS DESIGNED TO CLEAR THE WINDOW FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. UNFORTUNATELY, THE SNOW GETS TRAPPED BY THE MOUNTED SPARE TIRE AND STOPS THE BLADE. TO CLEAR THE REAR WINDOW, I HAVE TO EXIT THE CAR AND MANUALLY CLEAR OUT THE SNOW, WHICH DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM WHEN IT CONTINUES TO SNOW. I BELIEVE THIS CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION, EITHER BECAUSE MY FIELD OF VISION IS RESTRICTED OR BECAUSE I HAVE TO EXIT THE CAR IN DANGEROUS ROAD CONDITIONS. I REPORTED THIS TO TOYOTA CORP.
