Your car was in a crash at approximately 30 mph when it hit a stopped vehicle. The airbags deployed, but they appeared to deploy after the driver had already hit the steering wheel. This delayed deployment may not have provided the intended protection during the impact.

Your car was hit from behind at 60 mph, and the driver's seat detached and slid backward, making it impossible to reach the pedals. The airbags failed to deploy during the collision. You sustained injuries to your neck, head, and mid-back that required medical treatment. The manufacturer indicated they would inspect the vehicle and involve their legal department.

During a 2009 accident, your airbag deployed and you sustained injuries including a gash on your forehead and what felt like glass fragments embedded in your left eyebrow. You noticed powder and debris coming from the driver's airbag as it deployed. You're concerned these fragments may actually be metal or shrapnel from a defective airbag, especially given recent airbag recalls. The fix would involve having your airbags inspected and replaced by a Toyota dealer.

Both front airbags deployed during a crash, causing severe chemical burns to your arms that have not healed after ten days despite medical care. The burns penetrated through multiple layers of skin and are causing intense pain. You'll likely need ongoing medical treatment and may want to research the chemical composition of airbag deployment systems.

Your car was hit head-on by another vehicle traveling at 35 mph while you were nearly stopped. The driver's side airbag did not deploy despite the impact, and you sustained serious injuries to your neck and spine that required emergency surgery and extensive rehabilitation. The airbag failure may have prevented proper protection during the collision, potentially contributing to the severity of your injuries.

Your daughter was in a low-speed collision at a traffic light (described as a tap to the bumper) when her airbags deployed. The airbags caused serious facial injuries including a broken and dislocated jaw, five broken teeth, and a lacerated lip, requiring surgery and jaw wiring. This raises concerns about whether the airbags deployed with appropriate force for such a minor impact.

Your 2001 Toyota Corolla is subject to a Takata airbag recall (NHTSA Campaign 16V340000), but the replacement part needed for the repair has been unavailable for an extended period. You haven't experienced an airbag failure, but the manufacturer has taken longer than reasonable to make the repair available. Getting your airbags replaced with the recalled parts will require contacting Toyota for parts availability and scheduling service.

Your car was involved in a front-end collision and the airbags deployed as designed. You're concerned about reports that certain Toyota models from this year may have had issues with airbag propellant and metal fragments being released during deployment. You're seeking information about any recalls related to the airbag propellant type or other airbag issues for your model.

MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. HE WAS DRIVING A 2001 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF HIM WAS GOING SLOW-SO HE DECIDED TO PASS THE GUY. AS HE WAS DOING SO-THE TRUCK TURNED LEFT. MY HUSBAND HIT HIM HEAD-ON AND THEN THE CAR ROLLED ONTO ITS TOP. NEVER DID THE AIRBAGS GO OFF. FORTUNATELY HE HAD HIS SEATBELT ON. HE WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO HOSPITAL. THE MOST DAMAGE HE RECEIVED WAS HIS LEFT HAND AND ARM WERE BADLY INJURED. HE STILL HAS TO HAVE SURGERY THIS NEXT WEEK. WHY DIDN'T THE AIRBAG DEPLOY? *TR

I AM A SLOW DRIVER AND OBEY SPEED LIMITS. I KNEW I WAS COMING UP TO A STOP SIGN ON A 25 MPH ROAD, AND I ALWAYS DO A REAL STOP, NOT A SLOW DOWN AND CREEP FORWARD. A BLOCK OR TWO PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT, I PASSED SEVERAL POLICE CARS AND EVEN AN UNSAFE DRIVER WOULD HAVE CAREFULLY OBEYED THE TRAFFIC LAWS. I HAVE NO MEMORY OF THE COUPLE OF SECONDS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO AND DURING THE ACCIDENT, AND MY FIRST MOMENT I SAW WHAT WAS HAPPENING, I HAD MY FOOT ALREADY ON THE BRAKE PUSHING DOWN HARD ON IT BUT HEADING TO THE CURB ANYWAY. I THINK THE CURB STOPPED THE CAR. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE OFFICER AT THE SCENE WAS SURPRISED. I BELIEVE THIS FITS THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT SUDDEN ACCELERATION. MY CAR WAS TOTALED AND I HAD TO GET A NEW CAR. I'VE ASKED MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO INVESTIGATE, BUT THEY HAVE NOT GOTTEN BACK TO ME. *TR

ON MAY 26, 2009, A NISSAN SENTRA MADE AN ILLEGAL LEFT TURN WHICH RESULTED IN MY 2001 TOYOTA COROLLA 'S' BEING TOTALED. MY SEAT BELT ALLOWED ME TO FLY FORWARD AND MY CHEST HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I FIND THIS INCOMPREHENSIBLE. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 30-35 MPH. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE FREEWAY I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. *TR
