Your engine's valve lifter bearing has seized prematurely, causing abnormal wear to the camshaft and releasing metal particles into your engine oil, which can damage other engine components. You may hear an irregular ticking sound from the engine when starting or at idle, but there are no warning lights. This could potentially lead to catastrophic engine failure while driving, causing your vehicle to stop suddenly without warning.

Your 2023 Ram ProMaster 3500 is subject to a recall (Campaign 25V720000) related to the engine and cooling system, but the replacement part needed for the repair isn't currently available. The dealer has told you there's no fix available yet and suggested you avoid driving the vehicle or parking it near your home until the part becomes available. You haven't experienced any actual failure yet, but the manufacturer hasn't been notified of this delay.
