Your gooseneck ball hitch came loose and wasn't staying secured properly. The dealer confirmed this was the same issue covered by a recall (NHTSA Campaign 18E028000), but your vehicle's VIN wasn't included in that recall, so they didn't replace it. The manufacturer has been notified of the problem.
