Your truck's forward collision avoidance system is randomly activating the emergency brakes multiple times per month even when there's nothing in front of you. The dealership has confirmed there's a known software issue but refused to update it without charging you $285, even though you have an active MOPAR warranty. This safety-critical system needs a software update to prevent unexpected braking events.

While driving on the highway, smoke began pouring out of your vents, and you discovered a fire had started behind the radio in your truck. The fire spread rapidly, and the entire cab was engulfed in flames within minutes. This electrical fire poses an immediate safety risk and requires investigation of the wiring and components behind the dashboard radio.

Your truck is randomly shutting off while you're driving, as if you pressed the Start/Stop button. When this happens, the vehicle coasts to a stop, automatically engages the emergency brake around 3 mph, and shifts into Park—all while you're moving. You'll see a message saying "step on brake to restart" and the engine restarts normally, but the shutdown may happen again without warning. This is a serious safety issue because you lose power steering and power brakes while driving in traffic, and the problem is happening more frequently.

Your diesel engine's intake heater core has a bolt that can come loose from inside the manifold and fall into a cylinder, potentially causing severe engine damage. This is a serious mechanical problem that could lead to complete engine failure if the bolt gets lodged in the wrong place.

Your truck's traction control system is activating unexpectedly while driving on dry roads, causing a sudden loss of power and the vehicle to slow down dramatically. You have to pull over and restart the truck to regain normal performance. Additionally, the drive selector knob lights have started flashing intermittently and have now stopped working completely. This issue has occurred multiple times.

On the date of 11/11/2022 the vehicle experienced an electrical fire in the engine compartment. This happened after the vehicle completed a heater grid cycle before starting remotely. All signs of the fire from photographs clearly show the fire starting from the ground bolt location of the heater grid. This seems to be a common issue when researching forums among other owners of the same vehicle with the same engine options. There were no warning lights or other indications of a problem with the vehicle before this happened. Thankfully I keep a fire extinguisher in my vehicle and was able to save the vehicle. It is currently at a dealership awaiting parts and further confirmation of the fire source.
Right Rear seat Heater got so hot it burnt a hole in the seat. This happened without any warnings. Seat cushion material was burnt badly enough that an interior fire may have resulted. There were no warnings/messages. Nor symptoms of problems prior to the incident.
The radio/Uconnect system won’t turn on. It’ll take days before it will turn on every time it stops working. It’s been doing this on and off since I bought the truck. Backup alert won’t work The blind spot alert doesn’t work
Multiple electrical issues since new. These include passenger seatbelt light and sound flickering, battery failed after leaving me stranded. Most recent was the heated steering wheel quit working. When I took it to the dealer to repair they said I had a bad clock spring but it is back ordered. Without any repair my heated steering wheel now works but my horn doesn’t function and cruise control doesn’t work properly. There is clearly a vague underlying electrical issue causing failures.
The tires have premature wearing and cracking . Tires need to be replaced The DEF tank was replaced in 2021 and once again needs to be replaced. The plug for heating er on the oil pan is defective and sparks. The radio shuts off and won’t come back on. The blind spot sensors don’t always work. Truck sometimes won’t go into park or let you shift it off
The trailer electrical plug located on the sidewall in the bed of the truck was not connected at the factory. I could have experienced a complete trailer braking system failing when towing my 5th wheel. Yes, vehicle was inspected by Harper Dodge in Alcoa TN, The trailer electrical plug was connected to the electrical system.
2nd visit to dodge dealership, While towing a trailer with the trailer electrical plug in use, the trailer breaks keep going out, I am driving down the road and the dash warning comes on saying the trailer breaks are disconnected. When trying to stop, at first I will not have trailer breaks, so I have to bare down on the truck brakes to stop the trailer, then the trailer brakes start working and jerks the truck back. Also, when not towing a trailer the dash warning comes on saying incompatible trailer?? No trailer is plugged in. At the dealership all day, they are telling me nothing is wrong. It is NOT the 5th wheel trailer, I spent $1,200 on new brakes, electrical and plug for trailer. It is the truck.
I was driving my truck on 10/26 approximately 9 am when the engine made a loud knocking noise and then proceed to make a erratic clanking noise. The truck proceeded to completely shut off while driving, rendering me unable to control the vehicle as all systems shut down. There were no warning lights present or any other warning signs. It coasted to a stop on the side of the road. The safety of myself and anyone around me was at high risk as I had no ability to control the vehicle. The vehicle only has 12,000 miles on it so I had it towed to the closest dealership, Autostar of Hendersonville NC. It took a week to get a diagnosis because their solitary diesel tech was on vacation. They offered my no loaner vehicle and FCA has not made an adequate offer to cover the full cost of a loaner vehicle. The diagnosis on the vehicle was a high pressure fuel pump failure. I currently have not ETA on parts and no vehicle to drive. It is my understanding that NHTSA is already investigating this issue. Multiple attempts made to get help with a loaner vehicle, an ETA on parts/install have all been met with deflection from dealership and FCA customer care representatives. Any attempt made to inquire if the new fuel pump/system has been adequately updated to ensure this wont happen again has not been answered. Any attempt made to inquire if this issue has cause long lasting damage to the engine has not been answered. This is a serious problem and needs to be remedied. FCA needs to step up and take care of its customers.
RADIO AND DASHBOARD WILL NOT TURN ON WHEN I START THE TRUCK. THEY ARE COMPLETELY BLACK AWFUL SCREECHING NOISE RANDOMLY FROM UNDER THE HOOD
THIS VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT LESS THAN A MONTH AGO. THE FIRST WEEK 3 TIRES SENSORS ARE OUT AND NOT WORKING, THEN YESTERDAY, OCT. 20, 2020 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WON'T GO OUT. WE CALLED THE DEALER AND WERE TOLD THAT IT WASN'T ANY PROBLEM TO KEEP DRIVING THE TRUCK. THEY TOLD US THE SOONEST THEY COULD SEE IT WAS THIS FRIDAY, OCT. 23, 2020 AND THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY LOANERS. SO HERE I AM STUCK AT HOME AFRAID TO DRIVE THE RAM TRUCK COSTING MORE THAN $70,000 BECAUSE I MIGHT RUIN THE ENGINE. THIS IS UNCALLED FOR IN A BRAND NEW VEHICLE!!*DT*JB*DT*TR
