Filed: Feb 2024

Your truck's track bar keeps loosening and backing off, which can cause the drag link to separate and make you lose steering control. You've had several close calls where the truck nearly lost control, and the dealership says there's currently no known fix for this issue. You're asking that your truck be included in the safety recall so it can be repaired under warranty. Fixing this will likely involve replacing the track bar and drag link components and ensuring all connections are properly torqued and secured.

After your Ram 2500 had a steering recall repair performed at a dealer, the vehicle couldn't be aligned properly because welds installed during the recall repair are preventing alignment work. You've asked dealers and mechanics to remove these welds so alignment could be completed, but they've refused, and neither the dealer nor manufacturer has offered a solution. Your vehicle may remain undriveable until this alignment issue is resolved.

Your truck's front end has had persistent steering problems over two years, including a loose drag link and significant bouncing that caused premature tire wear—requiring two new sets of tires. There's an NHTSA recall (V06 19V-021) for this exact issue, but your vehicle's VIN wasn't included in the recall despite experiencing the same problem. You've spent about $4,700 on drag link repairs and tire replacements that might have been covered under the recall. Fixing this typically involves inspecting and tightening or replacing the drag link and related steering components, and addressing any suspension issues causing the bouncing.

Your exhaust manifold is cracked and leaking, causing exhaust fumes to enter your truck's cabin when starting, idling, or reversing. Mopar has discontinued replacement parts for this component, and aftermarket options aren't available either, which could cause your truck to fail DOT inspection. Fixing this will likely require finding a used manifold, having the crack welded, or exploring custom exhaust solutions since OEM parts are no longer produced.

Your turbo actuator failed while you were traveling, causing your vehicle to go into limp mode about 2,000 miles from home. The malfunction indicator lamp came on, and you had to have the control solenoid repaired to continue driving. You've submitted warranty claims to Ram/Stellantis for reimbursement but have been repeatedly denied despite having an extended warranty that should cover this repair at your vehicle's current mileage. The manufacturer has been difficult to contact for an explanation of the denial.

Your transmission temporarily stopped responding while towing a trailer uphill—when you tried to accelerate at the top, the engine just revved without moving the truck forward. After stopping for 3-4 minutes, the transmission worked normally again. No warning lights appeared before or after this happened. While this time it occurred going uphill, if it happens while descending with a trailer, it could create a serious safety problem since you wouldn't have engine or exhaust braking to control the truck. The issue likely involves transmission overheating or a temporary sensor fault that requires diagnostic testing to identify the root cause.
