You took your truck to a Dodge dealer to have a recall repair done on the catalytic converter and exhaust manifold. After the work was completed, you noticed the catalytic converter appeared dirty with scratches and a brownish film that didn't look new, and a second repair shop confirmed the exhaust manifold also showed rust stains and wear that suggested it wasn't actually replaced. You're concerned the dealer may not have performed the recall work as required and need verification of whether the parts were actually replaced.

Your truck is constantly allowing exhaust fumes to enter the cabin while driving. This is a ventilation or exhaust system issue that needs attention, as prolonged exposure to exhaust fumes can be harmful. The problem likely involves a leak or deterioration in the exhaust system or cab sealing.

The bolts that hold your exhaust manifold can break, which may allow exhaust fumes to enter your cabin. This is a known issue that Dodge has addressed on some vehicles. Fixing this typically involves replacing the exhaust manifold bolts and inspecting the manifold gasket for damage.

IN MARCH 2014 WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR OUR DODGE RAM 2500. WE TOOK THE LETTER TO OUR LOCAL DODGE DEALER, MARSHALL MOTORS, IN SALINA, KS TO VERIFY THAT OUR VEHICLE NEEDED THE REPAIR WORK INDICATED. THE EMPLOYEE SAID IT DID AND THAT SHE WOULD KEEP OUR NOTIFICATION LETTER AND A PHONE NUMBER AND CALL US WHEN THE PART CAME IN TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. WE'VE WAITED AND WAITED AND I CALLED AGAIN ON JUNE 23, 2014 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART/PARTS NEEDED WERE STILL ON BACK ORDER FROM CHRYSLER AND THEY WOULD CALL US WHEN THEY RECEIVED THEM TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I FIND THIS RIDICULOUS AS IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS SINCE WE RECEIVED THE FIRST NOTICE OF RECALL. IF THERE IS INDEED SOMETHING THAT NEEDS FIXED ON OUR VEHICLE WE FEEL IT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR FAMILY. WHAT HAPPENS IF THIS PART DOES CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHILE WE'RE WAITING FOR THE BACK ORDERED PART? CONCERNED AND FRUSTRATED. THANK YOU. *TR
