2015 Ram 1500 Electrical Problems

The Starter of the truck seems to have "shorted" and started an electrical fire that burnt the wiring harness leading up to the battery including part of the battery cover. Drove truck on 100 mile trip. Arrived, parked.

My 2015 Chrysler Ram EcoDiesel 4x4 has a major safety defect that nearly caused a catastrophic accident and has left me traumatized. The vehicle is currently inoperable, sitting in my driveway with a dead battery and what sounds like a thrown rod after breaking down for the second time on the highway.

Issued I have had with this vehicle was the camshaft , started shaking and missfire as I was driving heard from other ram owners that this is a common issue on 3.6 ltr The other was an electrical wiring harness that's goes to the engine I have a knob gear shifter as I was driving vehicles. Switch to park and dashboard read something like stop vehicle and restart to shift gear .

In August of 2024 I began receiving an error message in my vehicle stating "Service Electronic Breaking System" on the gauge cluster. I also noticed the dash lights indicating that the ABS and traction control were disabled. The vehicle remained in this state whenever the vehicle was running.

About a year ago my vehicles auto traction , brake light and ABS light illuminated. The warning that my vehicle gives when I turn it on and start is braking system needs serviced and electrical breaking system needs serviced. The code that shows in diagnosis is ABS brake module needs replaced.

Driving down the freeway Without warning vehicle dashboard started throwing out all kind of code warnings. Vehicle went into limp mode. Vehicle started on fire.

While driving my 2015 Ram 1500 with my children it suddenly with no warning stopped every electrical component went dead and was unable to restart it. Since it is a turn dial gear shift it had to be put in neutral using the pull handle. The truck was completely disabled including the steering wheel.

Went to go start the truck one morning and when I got in the truck as soon as I exceeded over 7 MPH it says to service the ABS system and the trailer brake system. I turned off the truck and started it again and it said the system was reporting fine. As soon as I went over 7 MPH again it said to service the ABS again.

I was driving on the Interstate when a electronic short warning light come on, I pulled over on the shoulder of the road and my engine quit and smoke started to come from the engine. I opened the hood and the engine was on fire.

First week of december 2020, I had a normal oil change. The following day my ram it would not turn over. It was towed to a local shop where I was told that it was the battery (even though the battery was only a year old).

The truck was started and moved from one side of the driveway and moved to the other side of the driveway. The truck was turned off after being moved. About 20 minutes after the truck was turned off it was found on fire.

Engine caught fire due to egr system overheating (maybe burning internally) melting then spontaneously catching foam rubber pad above the egr diffuser tube on fire. Resulted in melting wires, hose and other parts attached to engine. Was quickly put out with a fire extinguisher.

Driving on I -29 and we smelled comething like antifreeze then smoke. Truck lost power then got it back and was going to try to make it to an exit but pulled over when smoke coming from under the hood. Opened the hood and saw fire!

2015 ram eco diesel. Recently, ram and jeep were involved in "in re: chrysler-dodge-jeep "ecodiesel" mdl," which resolved legal claims asserting that the vehicles do not comply with federal and state emissions regulations and that fiat chrysler made misrepresentations to consumers regarding the vehicles. I pulled this info from the eco diesel settlement website.

On 7/29/19 at approximately 12:30 pm, was traveling between 60 - 65 MPH, west bound on interstate 40 at n.c. Mm 31, the truck lost power (limp in mode), the check engine & service automatic throttle control system lights came on. Noticed a small amount of white smoke emitting from the underside of the truck.

Rear cab 3rd brake light leaks extreme amount of water when raining hard. There are hundards of video that highlight this issue. Water entering the cab could potentially start a fire or some kind of electric short.

My ram truck was parked in my driveway. I went out and started my truck, went back inside the house to gather my things approximately 2-3 minutes. When I came back out to my driveway my truck had started to roll down the driveway and ended up crashing into my neighbors fence.

We where stopped at a red light the console display said to place the vehicle into park. The dashboard then lost power and smoke started to come out from under the hood it was a light gray at first but quickly changed to brown and the flames where coming out. I had just enough time to get out and get my 6yr old son out of his car seat and then call 911.

On 2-24-16, an accident with the vehicle happened during which the driver had no control of the vehicle. Per the police report, vehicle was parked in a parking space facing southwest. Unoccupied vehicle backed up from its parking position in the northeast direction colliding with a building column.

Original complaint for the first time this happened was filed with the nhtsc on 9/10/2015. This is the second identical incident. On 2/14/16 my knee hit the ignition key and the ignition turned off while traveling at 55 MPH.

2015 ram 1500 laramie limited 4x4 component part or system that caused the safety risk - unknown my truck was purchased new with 115 miles on the odometer on 10/13/2015 at hebert's town & country. On 10/16/2015, with just over 200 miles on the odometer, my wife and I were returning home from date-night.

When the truck shifted to park it slid to a stop after it veered right and went up on the side walk missing a pedestrian and phone poll. Chrysler, mile one, and hall chrysler jeep in virginia beach are doing nothing to help me out of this truck.

No power going up hills, won't shift going down hill, park sensors lights come on, zero oil pressure then Electronic Throttle. From what I seen on internet and from others with the same issues it's due to high pressure fuel pump which has a recall on it. But when it was sold by the dealership in November 2023 the dealership said there was NO open recalls.

When I leave my vehicle off for a few days the battery will drain and I come to a vehicle with no power to start the vehicle. I did some research online and found out people are saying it is the TIPM commanding the fuel pump to stay on even with they key set to off. I can confirm this fuel pump has to be on because some days my vehicle will take longer to start.

The recall for the crank position sensor tone wheel may delaminate falls short of correcting the problem. Mine delaminated and it cost me $2600 for the repair at the dealer in gilroy ca. Beside leaving us stranded on a remote section of highway with the travel trailer we were towing.

My vechicle recently did not start just got a dead click was able to get it started with a jump start brought it to the dealer to have it check they told me there no codes in the system to diagnose the problem asked me to leave the vechicle to see if the problem reaccured but it did not.

Engine coil failure after 60,000 miles. This part should be engineered to last over 100,000 miles. It causes the motor to stall when accelerating onto the highway.

Continue to receive check engine light code p0463 high level output fuel sensor. Fuel gauge does not change and works correctly. Should not have to pay $734 to $1400 to fix this sensor problem.

Vehicle stalls while driving it. Needs new tipm according to service center. They won't replace it under warranty because they say we modified it by wrapping a piece of heavy duty wire around the bolt for power in the tipm.

I left the truck running while in a store, I came out to see it rolled forward into a building while I was in the store and truck was in park ( or at least I thought) this caused $1800 in damages less then a month later while the truck was running and in park it completely died and had to towed back to dealer. They said they found a loose connection in the dash

I have a 2015 Ram 1500, my experience is not unique and this issue is well known online. The ABS module (Part No: 68228991AD) is no longer working and my truck has been having an issue with this for about 3 years.

The main ABS module has an internal electrical failure and shuts down. The failure affects the ABS, Traction Control, Trailer brake system and Cruise control to all be inoperable until replaced. The Module is unavailable from dealership with no known date of arrival.

Ram trucks have a known problem with the ABS module. When this system fails the truck loses it traction control. It has been known for years, but Ram truck continually states it's under engineering review.

The Antilock Brake Module (part # 68228991AD) and Antilock Brake Hydraulic Pump (part # 68196033AA) have failed for no apparent reason. The dealer states there's a national backorder for the module with no delivery date noted. The module controls the anti lock braking system, traction control, and cruise control, which are all safety concerns.

I am experiencing ABS issues on my truck. After visiting a local auto parts store to get an OBD scan, the code says it’s a bad ABS module. I called the dealership to share this information and they confirmed the code from the auto parts store is a bad ABS module.

For my truck a 2015 Ram 1500 there is a known issue where the ABS module fails and won't allow the driver to use ABS. It's ubiquitous and Chrysler isn't manufacturing or supplying the ABS module anymore. I was told by the Dealer that I should "just buy a new truck" if I want anti-lock breaks.

Water is leaking into the left headlight housing which causes the turn signal to malfunction, significant fogging and condensation in the headlight assembly unit which reduces visibility from the headlight and causes an error message. This issue is constant since it began and has not improved. This is very unsafe and is a defect in the design or manufacture of the vehicle.

The fuel pump went out then the dealer replaced it two months later the fuel sensor goes out and they replaced it total cost on my behalf was$340.00. Window motor also went out driver side and it was replaced. The vehicle is five years old with 37,000 miles why so many issues.

The check engine light came on at 66700 miles. The fuel gauge dropped to empty. The warning box popped up and said fuel sensor failure.

Truck completely shuts off while driving down the road without warning, has egr and service electronic throttle control, service exhaust, has other related electrical problems that shows up as codes, replaced the fuel pump and it still shows low fuel pressure and take several seconds to crank now and my fuel mileage is decreased.

I have a check engine light prompted by a fuel sensor fail warning. At times when the tank is full the light goes out and the fuel gauge works. When the tank gets to about 3/4 the check engine light comes on and the gauge drops to empty.

Headlight developes condensation, causing headlight (high beam) to blow out (my case), but which ever is on will blow out. Dealership is telling customers to run with high beam on to burn off the condensation. This only causes the bulb to blow.

Upon startup the vehicle routinely fails to load the infotainment/center console. This failure prevents the operator from seeing the rear view camera. Nothing in the console comes online for several minutes and other times it loads just fine.

My Horn does not work and my computer controls for Mileage, Tire Pressure, Oil Change, Diagnostic Information for the on board computer system does not work. In talking to several other Dodge Ram vehicle owners they are having the same issues. in looking up this issue on YOU TUBE is is a manufacture's wiring problem with faulty or improper design.

Electronic fuel sensor failed at 47k miles. Sensor contact wears away from friction and falsely reports a empty tank, when fuel is present. Vehicle operator has no idea how much fuel is in the tank at any time.

At 55,000 miles, steering wheel controls stopped working. Issue appears to be a worn or faulty clock spring.

Left side controls on steering wheel have quite working. Suspect clock spring issue. Not able to swap from screen to screen or control mobile phone without have to take eyes off the road.

The radio in the 2015 ram trucks has a lot of issues. The navigation will randomly go out, there is jo way to fix the issue, the issue fixes its self in time and without warning will go out again. The radio will not turn on at times, so all controls that go through the radio are also out.

Engine shuts off instantly without warning while driving at various speeds. won't start back up for several hours. When trying to restart, starter turns but seems no gas is going to engine.

There is a split-second delay when pressing the horn button and the horn actually sounding. Very significant when someone is entering your lane and doesn't see you. Service tech charged me $50 to tell me that this is normal.

While both driving, accelerating, stopped, starting, slowing and parked, the electrical components specifically the lights that illuminate the dash board on the RPM and speedometer gauges, start blinking (like a strobe) which is a huge distraction. The only remedy is to turn the dashboard lights all the way up, to where they should be while driving during daytime conditions.

It was early in the morning (0430), I got called into work, the winows in the truck were fogged up, so I turnedon my rear window de-froster and front window de-froster. As I turned the corner out of neighborhood (less than 1/2 mile) I heard a loud bang and I thought I hit something.
