ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ram 1500 diesel 4x2 trucks manufactured August 8, 2013, to July 2, 2015. The affected vehicles have a battery harness that may rub against the frame bracket for the right engine mount resulting in an electrical short.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to confirm that the battery harness is correctly routed and secured. Any harness that shows evidence of wear will be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on October 8, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R43.

The Starter of the truck seems to have "shorted" and started an electrical fire that burnt the wiring harness leading up to the battery including part of the battery cover. Drove truck on 100 mile trip. Arrived, parked.

Issued I have had with this vehicle was the camshaft , started shaking and missfire as I was driving heard from other ram owners that this is a common issue on 3.6 ltr The other was an electrical wiring harness that's goes to the engine I have a knob gear shifter as I was driving vehicles. In August of 2024 I began receiving an error message in my vehicle stating "Service Electronic Breaking System" on the gauge cluster. I also noticed the dash lights indicating that the ABS and traction control were disabled. The vehicle remained in this state whenever the vehicle was running.

While driving my 2015 Ram 1500 with my children it suddenly with no warning stopped every electrical component went dead and was unable to restart it. Since it is a turn dial gear shift it had to be put in neutral using the pull handle. The truck was completely disabled including the steering wheel.

Went to go start the truck one morning and when I got in the truck as soon as I exceeded over 7 MPH it says to service the ABS system and the trailer brake system. I turned off the truck and started it again and it said the system was reporting fine. As soon as I went over 7 MPH again it said to service the ABS again.

The truck was started and moved from one side of the driveway and moved to the other side of the driveway. The truck was turned off after being moved. About 20 minutes after the truck was turned off it was found on fire.

Engine caught fire due to egr system overheating (maybe burning internally) melting then spontaneously catching foam rubber pad above the egr diffuser tube on fire. Resulted in melting wires, hose and other parts attached to engine. Was quickly put out with a fire extinguisher.

Driving on I -29 and we smelled comething like antifreeze then smoke. Truck lost power then got it back and was going to try to make it to an exit but pulled over when smoke coming from under the hood. Opened the hood and saw fire!

On 7/29/19 at approximately 12:30 pm, was traveling between 60 - 65 MPH, west bound on interstate 40 at n.c. Mm 31, the truck lost power (limp in mode), the check engine & service automatic throttle control system lights came on. We where stopped at a red light the console display said to place the vehicle into park. The dashboard then lost power and smoke started to come out from under the hood it was a light gray at first but quickly changed to brown and the flames where coming out. I had just enough time to get out and get my 6yr old son out of his car seat and then call 911.

On 2-24-16, an accident with the vehicle happened during which the driver had no control of the vehicle. Per the police report, vehicle was parked in a parking space facing southwest. Unoccupied vehicle backed up from its parking position in the northeast direction colliding with a building column.

Original complaint for the first time this happened was filed with the nhtsc on 9/10/2015. This is the second identical incident. On 2/14/16 my knee hit the ignition key and the ignition turned off while traveling at 55 MPH.

On 10/16/2015, with just over 200 miles on the odometer, my wife and I were returning home from date-night.

No power going up hills, won't shift going down hill, park sensors lights come on, zero oil pressure then Electronic Throttle. From what I seen on internet and from others with the same issues it's due to high pressure fuel pump which has a recall on it. But when it was sold by the dealership in November 2023 the dealership said there was NO open recalls.

When I leave my vehicle off for a few days the battery will drain and I come to a vehicle with no power to start the vehicle. I did some research online and found out people are saying it is the TIPM commanding the fuel pump to stay on even with they key set to off. I can confirm this fuel pump has to be on because some days my vehicle will take longer to start.

The recall for the crank position sensor tone wheel may delaminate falls short of correcting the problem. Mine delaminated and it cost me $2600 for the repair at the dealer in gilroy ca. Beside leaving us stranded on a remote section of highway with the travel trailer we were towing.

The Antilock Brake Module (part # 68228991AD) and Antilock Brake Hydraulic Pump (part # 68196033AA) have failed for no apparent reason. The dealer states there's a national backorder for the module with no delivery date noted. The module controls the anti lock braking system, traction control, and cruise control, which are all safety concerns.

I am experiencing ABS issues on my truck. After visiting a local auto parts store to get an OBD scan, the code says it’s a bad ABS module. I called the dealership to share this information and they confirmed the code from the auto parts store is a bad ABS module.

For my truck a 2015 Ram 1500 there is a known issue where the ABS module fails and won't allow the driver to use ABS. It's ubiquitous and Chrysler isn't manufacturing or supplying the ABS module anymore. I was told by the Dealer that I should "just buy a new truck" if I want anti-lock breaks.

I am having an issue with my 2015 dodge ram 77000 miles. I get two messages, service anti-lock brake system and service electronic braking system, and the brake light is on , ABS light and tracking light. Water is leaking into the left headlight housing which causes the turn signal to malfunction, significant fogging and condensation in the headlight assembly unit which reduces visibility from the headlight and causes an error message. This issue is constant since it began and has not improved. This is very unsafe and is a defect in the design or manufacture of the vehicle.

The fuel pump went out then the dealer replaced it two months later the fuel sensor goes out and they replaced it total cost on my behalf was$340.00. Window motor also went out driver side and it was replaced. The vehicle is five years old with 37,000 miles why so many issues.

I have a check engine light prompted by a fuel sensor fail warning. At times when the tank is full the light goes out and the fuel gauge works. When the tank gets to about 3/4 the check engine light comes on and the gauge drops to empty.

Headlight developes condensation, causing headlight (high beam) to blow out (my case), but which ever is on will blow out. Dealership is telling customers to run with high beam on to burn off the condensation. This only causes the bulb to blow.

I have a 2015 dodge ram 1500 express, I've had mechanical issue with the truck from the very start of owning the truck. The biggest and longest lasting issue has been with the key fob getting stuck in the truck. The issue has been that the truck isn't telling itself that the is in park so it wont release my key.

Similar to the 2012-2013 dodge durangos recal that involved the tipm and fuel pump relay. My 2015 ram 1500 began to not start as if it wasn't getting enough fuel with long crank times that have only gotten worse over the past few weeks. The radio in the 2015 ram trucks has a lot of issues. The navigation will randomly go out, there is jo way to fix the issue, the issue fixes its self in time and without warning will go out again. The radio will not turn on at times, so all controls that go through the radio are also out.

The only remedy is to turn the dashboard lights all the way up, to where they should be while driving during daytime conditions.
