While vehicle was Parked in driveway the rear windshield just exploded suddenly causing glass to fly everywhere. Causing a risk for injury for a human and animal. There was no signs or warnings just happened suddenly. The vehicle has been towed to Nissan for repair but was told to not expect my vehicle back anytime soon. In the mean time I have a loaner.

The back window on our 2025 rogue shattered an explored to today February 15, 2026, Safety was compromised by not being able to see out of back window. There is no back window to reproduced. No warning just happen. After being parked.

I went out and got in my 2025 Nissan Roque in the garage. I opened the driver's side door, got in, closed the door and heard a loud explosion. My back window completely blew out! It was frightening! Glass is all over inside the back of my car and behind it. I'm thankful no one was in that whole area! I called my insurance that day and they contacted SAFELITE immediately and set up and appointment to have them come and replace it here in my garage, although it has taken 6 days. 6 days without a vehicle! I have since learned there is Class Action Law Suit on this ongoing matter.

I bought my Rogue August 2025, brand new. I am at home and my rear windshield has just busted out for no reason. It is 38 degrees today outside. I have not moved my vehicle at all today. For no reason, just sitting in driveway, it has busted. I looked up and it looks as if other Rogues are doing this. This is very dangerous. What if I had been driving the vehicle.

Rear windshield exploded without anything to promote this. There was not any rocks or pebbles that hit it, the glass just shattered.

On January 22, 2026, my husband and i were sitting in the parked vehicle, which was rented from Thrifty Rental, and the rear window spontaneously exploded into a million pieces. We have since learned that there is a Federal lawsuit and hundreds of complaints against Nissan for this exact issue. We consider ourselves lucky that the car was not moving as there could have been bodily injury or an accident.

Took my car in for some minor hood issues the week after buying it. While there the dealership pulled it out of the shop, parked it in the lot with the other vehicles they had worked on. They called me and told me they were going to call me and let me know my 2025 Nissan Rogue was ready to pick but when they went out to move it close to the door the back windshield was shattered.

On 12/5/25 my rear window just shattered right after the back hatch closed! I had it repaired myself because Matt Black Nissan said it wasn’t covered by my warranty. I paid Safelite $508.94 for the repair. I still had to take it to a dealer because there was some glass pieces left in the door and it was causing my locks to lock and unlock continuously. While I was waiting for my Rogue to be fixed I was talking to a man waiting for his vehicle and he told me this is happening to other vehicles where the back window just shatters. I did go online after this and have seen multiple other complaints about this issue. They need to recall this back hatch and fix the issue.

I was driving and hit a small bump in the road and my back glass exploded it was so loud I almost wrecked my car. I called nissan and they told me to bring it in and they would replace it they did it with no questions so it raised a red flag then I googled and found it is happening to alot of owners of nissan rouge 2022-2025. I bought this as a forever car and I feel they will not keep replacing it over and over. I feel I will not get my money out of this car so disappointed

Attempted to remote start several and car didn't start. Previous remote starts worked every time. Entered car and when I closed door back window blow out.

While nissan Rogue 2025 was sitting in my driveway with car running and loading my car to leave for work on 11/27/25 , the rear windshield spontaneously crackled and shattered from one corner to the other after closing a side door . Glass was everyplace in my vehicle my driveway and down into the rear hatch frame. Nissan dealership and nissan corporate took no responsibility for the defect , called all multiple times and went to dealership and the repair area. I had to put it through my auto insurance. Glass was on back order took close to two weeks to repair. I now hear glass shards sliding around in my rear hatch door and yesterday the lock wouldn't open properly for multiple attempts , finally opened. I hear people are having issue with the glass shards interfering with the locking mechanism now. Nissan must own up to this defect. Car was only 5 months old.

Rear window I started the vehicle, and almost immediately the rear window shattered. I had driven the vehicle earlier that day to work, and used the rear window defrost, which I manually turned off after about 5 minutes and the rear windshield was fine. I Parked the car in the parking lot at about 10:15 AM at work, and returned at a little after 7 PM at which time I started the car to leave, and the window shattered. I immediately inspected the window,,the back compartment and the surrounding area at the back of the vehicle to see if something had hit the window, there was nothing there. There was no warning lights, the temperature was in the 70's (I live in Florida) and I saw no type of external element that caused the window to break. My insurance had the rear window replaced, the glass technician said it possibly had something to do with the heating element that could have made the glass implode.

Husband closed door on car and the back window exploded. No warning. Called dealer and they referred us to a Nissan glass place. This is a safety issues becalled Nissan cant find the glass replacement. We are driving with plastic on window. Looking into this it seems that the years 22-25 has happened to many people. The glass place said we have to wait and it could be several weeks.

On November 18, 2025, I switched on my rear window defogger. 15 minutes later I drove the vehicle into my garage, switched the defogger off, and turned the engine off. The following morning I entered the vehicle. When I closed the driver's side door gently, I heard a very loud noise. I looked into my rear-view mirror and saw that the rear window had shattered completely. A few days later I had the window replaced by Safelite. On Dec. 29, 2025 the rear window was inspected by Premier Nissan in Uniontown, Pa. (15401). This spontaneous incident could have had serious implications if there had been rear seat passengers. I believe that a defect exists with the rear window design or factory installation. Therefore, a re-call is advisable.

The automatic liftgate will close on you when you’re not expecting it. This is caused us to hit our head, at least three times while trying to remove items from the back of the Nissan Rogue. On the most recent incident resulted in a concussion. As I was putting a suitcase into the back of the car, it began to shut, causing me to hit the top of my head and blackout.

Upon entering the vehicle which was parked all day in the driveway (backed in) I heard a weird sound then my back window on the hatch imploded inside.

Went to walk my dog on Wednesday at around 2:15p noticed glass on the ground and looked and back window was in pieces still attached to the car. I live at least 500 feet off the rode and have no neighbors near my cars.

I parked my 2025 Nissan Rogue in my attached garage on Thursday night. I went into the garage on Sunday evening and saw that the rear windshield had shattered. The perimeter of the windshield had pieces missing, those were on the garage floor behind the car. At this point the glass was still attached. However, I needed to retrieve an item inside the car. When I gently closed the door, a chunk of shattered glass fell in the cargo area. More fell inside today, still parked in the garage. I bought it in Feb 2025, it has around 5,000 miles. I spoke to the dealership today and explained what occurred. The response, which I will quote, “That just wouldn’t happen.” I reported it to my insurance. I have no other vehicle and need this fixed this week so I’m paying the $500 deductible. There was no prior damage to the windshield. The car had not been driven for 3 days. I did take a video and photos.

While eating dinner, rear back glass shattered last night for absolutely no reason. Walked out of dinner and it was shattered. Police report was filed and taken to local Nissan dealership.

The rear windshield shattered while driving. I was driving car in the evening at 30 mph, heard a “pop” and the back window glass cracked in to tiny pieces. Once I pulled over to examine the damage the center of the glass fell out of the window completely. The dealer states it is not a defect, but there are several accounts online of the same thing happening to other Nissans. I see no other damage that makes me think something hit the window and the glass did not spider from one spot out, it just cracked in to tiny pieces. An insurance claim has been made, but no official inspection has been done. No warning signs/lamps were on at the time of the incident.

On Dec 3, 2025,I drove my 2025 Nissan Rogue to my workplace as usual. It is new vehicle with about 2000 miles on it. The vehicle was parked in the employee parking lot, which is an open, uncovered area but not a location where projectiles or falling objects are present. The car remained stationary in this parking area until the incident occurred. When I returned to the vehicle, I closed the front driver-side door normally, using the same routine pressure I use every day. Immediately upon closing the door, the rear liftgate glass suddenly shattered without warning. The entire rear windshield broke into pieces at that moment. Most of the broken glass fell outside the vehicle, and the remaining fragments were found around the liftgate area. There was no evidence of any impact, no prior cracks or chips, and no external object struck the vehicle. The shattering occurred instantaneously and solely due to the act of closing the front door, which should not cause a rear windshield to fail. This appears to be a spontaneous structural failure of the rear glass, with no external cause. It could be a hazard to the people inside the car as well as outside. I reported that to Nissan who said that they were unaware of the issue. However this is widely known on even Google that the glass of 2024 and 2025 Nissan breaks spontaneously

My 2025 nissan rogue rockcreek back windshield randomly exploded and shattered while driving down the road. There was no impact by anything and nothing hit it. There was a cold snap and I was using the defrost and had just turned it off when it shattered. Looked it up and this appears to be happening to many other owners as well. It appears to be some sort of defect. There was an issue with Hondas last year the same thing happening and it had something to do with the defrost elements coming in contact with the rear windshield. I believe this is a similar defect and needs to be fixed. I had to pay out of pocket to fix this because the dealer said replacement windshields were on back order.

The Back glass in the hatch blew a hole in the lower passenger side and then the whole back glass shattered and exploded. I was driving down the interstate. Police report was done. The glass blew from the inside out.

I was driving in Chatham, IL at 40 mph when I heard a loud pop, like a balloon burst, then crinkling noises. The panoramic sunroof had exploded & shattered for no known reason. Numerous tiny shards of glass rained down on the backseat, which could have caused injuries if anyone were sitting in the rear seat. I was not traveling under any trees or building, it was not raining at the time, I did not hit a bump. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior. I purchased a 2025 Nissan Rouge Rock Creek in March. Yesterday I got in my car, shut the door and the back door window shatters. No reason what so ever. it was 70* the day before and got down to the 40s overnight. There was no damage on car prior, Its a new car. Great condition. I reported the problem to the dealer and they told me it would be $1000 to fix.they do not cover glass. I noticed online others are having the same issue going on with the 2025 rouge rock creek edition as well as other 2025 rouges. Safety is at risk to anyone in or around the car as the glass can shatter at any given moment. I contacted the dealer along with nissan corporate to put in a claim report. They are not covering the cost at this point.

I purchased a 2025 Nissan Rogue approximately two weeks ago. Three nights ago, when I left work, I opened the rear driver-side door to place my backpack inside. Safelite came to my home yesterday to replace the rear windshield, and during the appointment we discovered that the liftgate will not open. I attempted every method of opening it: the button on the dashboard, the key fob, the hands-free foot sensor, and even attempting to manually release it. Nothing worked. The technician advised me to take the vehicle to the dealership. Later that afternoon, I brought the vehicle to Wally’s Nissan in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. The technicians attempted the same methods I did, including trying to manually open and pry the liftgate. Despite this, the liftgate would not release, and the attempts to access it are resulting in damage to the interior of my brand-new vehicle. I am extremely unhappy with the situation and the condition in which my vehicle is being left. Based on what I have researched, it appears that a piece of shattered glass may be lodged in the latch mechanism, preventing the liftgate from opening. The dealership informed me that they do not know how to proceed and essentially sent me away without a resolution and just blaming the door actuator. At this time, I cannot have the rear windshield replaced because the liftgate cannot be opened. We are approaching winter weather, temperatures are dropping, and I commute an hour to work every day. I cannot be left with a vehicle I just purchased that has no functional liftgate and no rear window, with no guidance or support from the dealership. I am requesting immediate assistance and direction, as this situation is unacceptable. I should not be told “there is nothing we can do”

The sunroof on our car literally combusted on me and my wife while we were driving on the road. There was no sound of impact nor is there any sign of debris in our car. The glass simply shattered into our car spreading shards and micro glass all over the place. Again, there was no sign of debris in the car nor any sound of impact. This appears to have been a spontaneous glass failure, similar to other reports from Rogue owners. The incident created a serious safety concern due to the sudden explosion of tempered glass, which could easily cause driver or passenger injury, distraction while operating the vehicle, or potential loss of visibility if it had occurred while driving. The rear hatch now lacks structural integrity and requires full replacement. I am filing this report to document the defect and ensure this issue is investigated further for potential manufacturing or thermal-stress flaws in the rear glass assembly.

I turned on the rear defrost feature for the first time on my brand new car and the window busted out.

Did same as ever day going to work except for I used rear defrost I got to raised rear door I was standing under it I hear a pop and a crackle I look and my rear door glass shattered for no reason at first I researched it and found that it is a known problem Nissan knows about at any given time it can pop going down the road or just setting there

Warranty doesn't cover glass, so I had to pay out of pocket up to my $500 deductible with insurance. There were no cracks prior to this happening.

I've only had my 2025 Rock Creek Rogue for 4 months. The back windshield all of a sudden shattered. I'm seeing a lot of customers complaining about the same issue. It's evident there's a defect in the glass,that's causing the glass to shatter and it needs to be addressed. I shouldn't have to come out of my pocket for a $500 deductible to pay for a windshield that's well known for having a problem. There should be a recall for this windshield. .

After hitting the button to close my back hatch, my boyfriend noticed that the window was cracking from the upper left corner. When nearly fully closed, the window spontaneously shattered.

The back windshield shattered in my 2025 nissan rogue. It was sitting in my driveway, I got in my driver's seat, shut the door and my back windshield shattered. I'm unable to drive it because glass keeps falling everywhere. Nissan warranty doesn't cover windows even though there are multiple incidents of this same thing happening. There is no way to prove it is a manufacturer defect. If I took it to the dealership to access the damage there would be no window left and it is unsafe to drive. The dealership doesn't even replace windows so I have to pay out of pocket to fix it. There were no cracks or chips before it happened and it is not covered in bumper to bumper warranty even though it is only 4 months old.

While driving on the highway, I pressed the rear defrost button for the first time since purchasing the car last April due to a foggy rear window. Shortly after, I noticed through the rearview mirror that the rear gate window had shattered, even though nothing had struck it. When I arrived at work and exited the car, the rear window suddenly broke apart completely, leaving a large hole as if the glass had exploded.

I got into my car and closed the door and pushed the start button and my back window blew out. It was not hit by anything and sitting in front of my office and had not driven all day since I got there.
