2018 Nissan Rogue Collision Avoidance Problems

This is about the 4th incident where when I am driving my car and all of a sudden a message flashes on the dashboard and the car brakes hard, while my foot is still on the gas. There are no other vehicles in front of me or icy roads.

My rogue has randomly just gave me a warning and slammed on my breaks without an obstacle in site. Now the malfunction light keeps coming on. This is starting to get very frustrating.

While driving on a clear day on an open road going about 50 MPH my car made the emergency alert noise for a forward collision and slammed on the brakes. Nothing was in front of me and the event almost caused an accident.

Forward emergency braking system engages while approaching a metal roadway surface and comes to a complete and abrupt stop. The roadway is a driveway on a private property. This vehicle is equipped with a safety system designed to prevent collisions with objects ahead, but engages when there is no object in front.

The vehicle will make a sudden accelerated decrease in speed nearly grinding to a halt. The vehicle has 5100 miles on it. This has happened more than once.

Forward collision avoidance brand new 2018 rogue with less than 1000 miles - the automatic breaking systems engaged when there was no obstructions in the road. Almost caused a rear end collision. Door ajar warning again, this is a new 2018 rouge sport with less than 700 miles.

I have purchased certified pre-owned 2018 Nissan Rouge SL on July 17th 2021 from a Dealer in TOTOWA, NJ, 07512.Recently we encountered a serious problem, where the AEB system malfunctions suddenly and unexpectedly when there is no car or object in front of the car. we are at a speed of 65 miles per hour and almost hit by a car behind us.

On Sunday, 26 Jan 25, while in a neighborhood street the AEB engaged unexpectedly at 25 MPH. That same day at highway speeds between 60 and 70 MPH the AEB system unexpectedly engaged four times.

Repeated activation of the AEB system while driving above 20 MPH when there are no other vehicles/objects/persons near the vehicle. Nissan has replaced the part and recalibrated the system 4 times, and the problem is still occurring.

At unpredictable times and road conditions, the Automatic Emergency Braking system will activate causing the car to brake/lunge in such a manner that it feels like the operator is tapping the brakes. The system then proceeds to give the operator a series of warning lights on the dash display. During all of these instances there is nothing in proximity to the vehicle.

The AEB sensors are not working. The sensor will have to be replaced. The current lights are on my car: car with squiggly lines, warning triangle, and O/D Off.

An aeb recall was made on nissan rouges back in 2019, I took my car to the dealer, in which it was supposed to have been fixed, however the light still came on blinking. Today, while driving it gave me a warning and said malfunction with the aeb.

Driving down the interstate vehicle slammed the brakes and then would not move and then was finally able to get to get it to go again by going and then letting go of the gas and then accelerating again. I was able to pull off the road and take the cables off the battery to reset the vehicle. I have since disabled the automatic braking system manualy on the counsel of the vehicle.

The aeb warning light frequently blinks during regular driving conditions with a clean nose sensor and windshield camera. More frightening is it has slammed on the brakes, twice, on the highway with no vehicles or obstructions in favorable conditions at cruising speed. This is horribly scary on a major highway with two children in the car.

While driving straight at approximately 25-30 MPH on a city street with a slight incline and no other vehicles around or inconsistencies in the road surface, the vehicle made a hard and abrupt deceleration combined with a grinding sound for about 2-3 seconds then resumed normal operation. In the first incident, I was in the middle of an intersection (going through on a green light) on a a normally busy road going approximately 35-40 MPH and my automatic brake system braked hard without a warning. It beeped with a warning on the dash as it simultaneously braked. Not a single car was within 100 feet in front of me and thankfully there was no one close behind me.

When I have Cruise Control activated, for example, at 65 MPH, the engine transmission seems to keep shifting gears up and down and does not maintain a steady pace and slowing down/speeding up and shifting constantly. It is to the point that I will not use the Cruise Control any longer. It has happened each time I have activated it and I am inquiring if it is a commonly reported issue.

While driving sudden stop and message says front radar obstruction malfunction appears. There is no vehicle driving near or any weather that will trigger this to happen

Drive in a residential street less the 30 vehicles light turned on and car brakes came to a complete stop it has happened twice it first did this on 8/24/21 and again on 12/12/21

While driving on freeway and highway my vehicle suddenly came to an abrupt stop to the point of ABS system turning on as if there was a car in front without any obstacles or any vehicles on the road. It caused whiplash type of injury with each instance. It happened 5 times within 20 minutes.

My cars automatic brake system engaged twice now. The first time I was driving and the brakes were slammed on and a car had to swerve hard to avoid me. Just now going 70mph on the freeway with my two kids in the car out of no where the brake assist kicked on and my car stopped.

Several times during normal driving on the highway, the braking system activates for no reason. Once pulling into my garage at 5mph. Once leaving my driveway at 0 MPH and twice on the highway going 60+ MPH

This has nothing to do with airbags I was driving down the road at 38 miles per hour and a 40 mile-an-hour zone going down a small grade nobody in front nobody behind nobody beside me and the brakes locked up. It threw me for word twist in my body the seatbelt hurt my left hip in my left shoulder because it was unexpected there was nothing there.

The radio/navigation has rebooted twice which disables everything until it restarts also while driving between 35-40 miles and hour on a normal 2 lane road with no other cars around and passing through an intersection the emergency braking system engaged and the started to brake hard, the warning in the car went off as well.

Brand new 2018 rogue with less than 700 miles - the automatic breaking systems engaged for no reason while making a left hand turn. The car behind me had to swerve not to hit me other times the sensor light for the automatic breaking system flashes. On another day a warning code appeared stating the front sensor weren't working due to obstruction.
