2017 Nissan Rogue Collision Avoidance Problems

Front collision sensor goes off every once in awhile it seeming that there's a person in front of the vehicle when there's no one on the street and also it goes off when it rains or snows or it's foggy out it doesn't work.

On many occasions, the AEB (FEB) engages on its own, when there is not vehicle or item in the car's path. This is a safety issue, as it can happen in traffic, which is likely to cause a collision. This week I took the vehicle to Regal Nissan in Roswell, GA and made them aware of the situation.

Forward collision warning failed leading to accident. Automatic emergency braking didn’t engage leading to accident. I didn’t have ANY warning of impending collision.

It does not detect forward collision especially when it rains heavy.

When I drive my car in the rain the indicator light for the Front Collision Warning comes on and my car tries to break automatically. It has happened a few times, but yesterday it happened while I was driving on the freeway and it caused me to hydroplane across 3 lanes of traffic. Luckily I wasn't hit, but it could have been a very different situation.

The forward collision warning light comes on intermittently. The brakes just lock up for no reason, this has happened at least 3 times.

Was driving at night. No obstruction s in road (nor any railroad gates or anything Nissan has said in last) and car automatically started braking on main road. Luckily not many people were out and it didn’t cause any damage/accidents

Was driving down the interstate going 80 MPH. All of a sudden the car starting stopping. It wouldn't accelerate but the engine was still revving.

The contact stated while driving 55 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle independently came to an abrupt stop as the crash sensor warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact immediately pulled over and read the safety manual but could not find the cause of the failure.

While the vehicle was in motion on both city streets and interstate highways the automatic emergency brake (aeb) has activated when there wasn't any traffic or obstacles present. At one time on the highway it almost caused an accident due to sudden and abrupt unneeded braking slowing the car unexpectedly nearly causing cars behind me to run into me.

The vehicle braked to a full stop while I was driving straight forward over train tracks. This is very dangerous as I could have easily been rear ended

This vehicle was purchased new from the dealership, nissan of vacaville, on 9-16-2017. On 10-26-2017 while traveling at approximately 35 MPH the vehicle's forward emergency braking system (feb) suddenly and unexpectedly activated, bring the car to a full and complete stop in the middle of the road. The braking system disengaged within a few seconds and I was able to pull to the side of the road.

Automatic emergency braking is malfunctioning. It is available for inspection upon request. The car stops by itself while driving in traffic, putting myself and other drivers at risk. I have brought the vehicle to the dealership twice and they deny the problem. There is no warning leading up to the issue. It is a reoccurring random problem that happens while driving in stop-and-go traffic. When it occurs, the vehicle is paralyzed and I need to shut off the car and restart the car in the middle of traffic. The vehicle started malfunctioning like this approximately 3 years ago and it has become more frequent. It now occurs every time I commute in slow traffic. It is dangerous and there are reports online of many other drivers experiencing the same problem and local news reports.

The car siezes and stops instantly with a MALFUNCTION that is sensing something that is not present. It has happened over 6 times, within 2 weeks. It has been reported to Twin City Nissan (409)727-2779 three times.

SENSORS GO OFF AS IF SOMETHING IS IN FRONT OF ME TO POSSIBLE EMERGENCY BRAKING AND CUTS OFFS AFTER BEEPING A COUPLE TIMES WHEN I'M DRIVING ON AN EMPTY ROAD. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AND CONCERNS ME THAT IT WILL EVENTUALLY ENACT EMERGENCY BRAKING. THIS OCCURS WHILE I'M IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET GOING STRAIGHT.

Tl* the contact was renting a 2017 nissan rogue. While driving 55 MPH, the auto brake engaged with no object in front of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs.

The vehicle was traveling on a road that goes under a bridge on I-275. The front camera system mistook the bridge for an object on the road and activated the brakes. The car braked on its own.

On 3 different occasions, emergency braking has been initiated with no object in front that can be struck. Vehicle has locked and unlocked while in transit with no explanation, dashboard quickly shows error then stops.

This morning while driving to work I was crossing a major intersection (Northbound Chiquita Blvd / Pine Island Rd in Cape Coral FL) at 45 MPH when my automatic breaking system activated and brought my car to a stop in the middle of the intersection. There was no vehicle or object in front of me and there was no abnormal weather so there was no reason for the vehicle to stop.

Driving on the highway about 65M MPH, the forward emergency system (FEB), read an error message. Immediately the engine brake was activated causing the car to brake. I pulled over in the highway and turn off the engine, ERROR message for the FEB was not showing anymore.

ABS braking system goes on when driving car for no apparent reason. No other cars or obstacles around. This has happened 7 times.
