Your car is displaying error codes P0462 and P0447 even after you've replaced the water pump, belt, thermostats, rotors, brakes, fuel pump, spark plugs, fuel injectors, and evap vent valve solenoid. You're experiencing misfiring, stalling, and your speedometer is reading about 10 mph faster than your actual speed. The fuel pump appears to be missing its fuel level sensor despite having a new float bar and pump assembly.

MY VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ONE DAY SO I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR SO THEY REPLACED IT. THEN RIGHT AFTER I LEFT MY LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AGAIN AND HE SAID IT WAS THE SAME CODE FOR THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. AFTER CHECKING IT AGAIN THE MECHANIC SAID THERE IS SOME SORT OF ELETRICAL PROBLEM THERE BECAUSE IT TELLS HIM TO"CHECK CIRCUITS" BUT EVEN AFTER MESSING AROUND WITH THE CIRCUITS MY LIGHT IS STILL ON.

THE CAR DRAINS GAS LIKE CRAZY, AND IT'S SLOW AND DRIVING AND SLUGGISH. THE CAR HAS CUT OFF ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING WHERE I HAD TO SPEND OVER $500 TO GET IT REPAIRED.

UNFORTUNATELY, WE HOOKED UP A GPS TO THE CAR AND IT TELLS US WE'RE GOING 4 MILES SLOWER THAN WHAT THE SPEEDOMETER SAYS. HONESTLY, A SPEEDOMETER SHOULD READ CORRECTLY ON A CAR THAT WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND NEVER HAD ANYTHING DONE TO IT THAT WOULD THROW OFF THE SPEEDOMETER READING. (SUCH AS DIFFERENT SIZED TIRES BEING PUT ON IT)

THE VEHICLE THREW A CODE FOR THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR HAD THAT REPLACED THEN THE VEHICLE THREW A CODE FOR THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. MIDAS REPLACED TWO OF THEM STILL COULD NOT CLEAR THE CODE. THE VEHICLE WILL START IN DRIVE BUT IT WILL SPUTTER WHILE STOPPED LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL. WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR COMING TO A STOP THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF AND IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET STARTED AGAIN.

NISSAN ALTIMA 2006 REPEATEDLY FAILS TO START. ONCE WE GOT IT STARTED WE WOULD DRIVE A SHORT DISTANCE AND THEN IT WOULD DIE OUT. VERY SCARY AS WE WERE ON A TRAFFIC ROADWAY. WE PROCEEDED TO A SERVICE CENTER TO GET A NEW BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR BUT THAT ONLY STARTED THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW MOMENTS THEN IT DIED OUT AGAIN. REPAIR TECHNICIAN INFORMED US IT WAS THE NISSAN COMPUTER BOX INDICATING IT WAS READING EVERYTHING "BACKWARDS" AND THUS THE CAR COULD NOT DETERMINE HOW TO START THE CAR ANYMORE. THE SERVICE CENTER GOT IN TOUCH WITH A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND ORDERED A NEW COMPUTER BOX. THE NEW COMPUTER DID NOT WORK EITHER! WE ARE STUCK WITH AN INOPERABLE VEHICLE. HELP!

AFTER DOING MUCH RESEARCH I FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES! I INPUT MY VIN# TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER RECALL AND IT WASN'T. AFTER SEEING HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS, WHY HASN'T THEIR BEEN A RECALL? IF THERE WAS, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY CAR WASN'T RECALLED?

THE SECOND TIME WAS ON FRIDAY JUNE 12, 2015 WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM THE BRANCH AVE METRO PARKING, WITH MY BROTHER ON THE WAY HOME, WHILE TURNING OFF FROM HIGHWAY 5 ON TO SURRATTS ROAD, LEAVING MY BROTHER AND I DANGEROUSLY STUCK THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE OFF CURVE WITH CARS GOING BY BLOWING THEIR HORNS. THE ALTIMA DOES START BACK UP, BUT ONLY AFTER A MINUTE OR TWO. NO APPARENT REASON WHY, NO WARNING LIGHTS. THE CAR HAS BEEN CONSUMING MORE OIL THAN USUAL AND AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND DOES NOT SHUT OFF. A SEARCH FOR RECALLS REVEALED IN FACT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED, 06V-223 ON THE 2006 ALTIMA, BUT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OR THE RECALL ADDRESSED.

BASED ON WHAT MY DAUGHTER TOLD ME, ON SUNDAY 8/24 SHE WAS TRAVELING ON I-96 IN MARYLAND. SHE WAS ON THE MILLARD E. TIDINGS BRIDGE WHEN SHE HAD TO SLOW FOR AN ACCIDENT. WHILE SLOWING, HER CAR JUST SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT START. SHE WAS STUCK IN THE LEFT LANE OF I-95 ON THE BRIDGE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON WHEN SHE TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AAA WAS CALLED BUT THE POLICE HAD TO SHUT DOWN I-95 TO PUSH HER FROM THE LEFT LANE TO THE RIGHT HAND SHOULDER PAST THE BRIDGE. SHE WAS TOWED TO BALTIMORE AND THE VEHICLE WAS DROPPED AT A REPAIR FACILITY. THE NEXT DAY IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A BAD CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND REPAIRED. I RESEARCHED AND THERE IS A RECALL BY NISSAN FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM FOR OUR YEAR AND ENGINE ALTIMA. WHEN I CALLED NISSAN, THEY INDICATED OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. HUH? IT APPEARS THAT NISSAN SHOULD WIDEN THE RECALL AS THIS PROBLEM OBVIOUSLY STILL EXISTS AND IT PUTS DRIVERS IN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS POSITION OF HAVING THEIR CAR AND ALL ITS FUNCTIONS SHUT DOWN AND NOT RESTART. CAN IT GET ANY MORE DANGEROUS THAN AN INTERSTATE ON A SUMMER WEEKEND? I'M LUCKY MY DAUGHTER HANDLED THE ENTIRE ORDEAL CALM AND COLLECTEDLY OR THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 08V521000(AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME DEFECT DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. WHILE AT A RED LIGHT, THE POWER ON MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER TRYING TO TURN OVER THE IGNITION SEVERAL TIMES, THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTED. I DROVE IT TO ADVANCE AUTO WHERE THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND ADVISED THAT THERE WERE TWO ERROR CODES: P0725 & P0335 (ENGINE SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION & CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION). UPON CALLING MY MECHANIC,HE ADVISED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A TYPICAL PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL AND THAT HE BELIEVED THERE WAS A RECALL. I CALLED AND HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY NISSAN THAT THERE WAS A RECALL BUT MY VIN WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL. HOWEVER, NISSAN WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE WHICH VEHICLES WERE ACTUALLY PART OF THE RECALL! THERE ARE MANY UNRESOLVED COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE, AND I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS HAZARD FOR DRIVERS. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSIS ERROR CODE P0335 CAMSHAFT AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR FAILURES AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $570 (PLUS THE $110 DIAGNOSIS FEE). A RECALL EXISTS FOR SAME MAKE AND MODEL, BUT CAR VIN IS EXCLUDED. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON AND WIDESPREAD AFTER DOING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH. THE DEALERSHIP'S PARTS MANAGER ALSO STATED THIS WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2006. TWO WEEKS LATER THE CAR WOULD NOT CRANK AND THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. SHORTLY AFTER, I NOTICED THAT THE HEATING SYSTEM DID NOT WORK IN THE VEHICLE. I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG, THEREFORE I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD "THAT IS THE WAY NEW MODELS ARE MADE". THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. IN THE WINTER WHEN THE CAR IS NOT MOVING (SUCH AS AT A RED LIGHT) COLD AIR BLOWS IN THE CAR, NOT HEAT. I HAVE EXPERIENCED RATTLING NOISES WITH MY CAR. IT CAN BE HEARD WHEN THE CAR IS DRIVEN AS IF SOMETHING IS LOOSE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP IN 2011 TO HAVE IT CHECKED. I GOT THE CAR FIXED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE NOISE CONTINUED. EACH YEAR I HAVE GOTTEN MY ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS REPLACED IN THE FRONT AND REAR. I DO NOT THINK THIS IS NORMAL. I HAVE HAD MY CAR 5.5 YEARS WITH 79K MILES. PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED WITH THE ELECTRICAL PART OF THE CAR. THE LIGHTS HAVE BECOME DEEMED WHEN I DROVE ON 2 OCCASIONS, THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK, THE SEAT DOES NOT ADJUST ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND SOMETIMES WHEN I PRESS THE ALARM BUTTON ON MY KEY, MY WINDOWS HAVE WENT DOWN AUTOMATICALLY. *JS
