Your dashboard instrument cluster screen went completely black without warning, making all gauges, the odometer, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, and safety features invisible. Your dealer confirmed the screen is covered under warranty but it's backordered from Kia with an estimated arrival in late May 2026. You're currently driving without a functioning dashboard display, which means you can't monitor critical vehicle information like fuel level or engine temperature. The fix will require replacing the entire instrument cluster screen once it becomes available from Kia.

When you start your SUV, the instrument cluster (dashboard display) doesn't turn on, so you can't see your speed, odometer, warning lights, or any driving information. This means you won't get alerts if safety features malfunction or sensors fail. Your dealer appointment is scheduled to diagnose and repair the issue.

When you start your vehicle, the dashboard gauge cluster screen goes completely blank and stays that way. You can't see your speed, fuel level, engine temperature, or any warning lights, even though the rest of the vehicle works normally and the infotainment screen functions fine. This could be a problem with the instrument cluster display itself or its electrical connection. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the cluster's power supply or replacing the instrument cluster unit.

Your instrument cluster display went blank while your vehicle was parked, causing your speedometer and fuel gauge to stop working. This happened at around 30,000 miles, and you haven't had it diagnosed or repaired yet. The issue may be related to a known electrical system problem, though your vehicle's VIN wasn't included in the recall. Fixing this will likely require the dealer to diagnose and repair the instrument cluster's electrical connections or replace the cluster itself.

Your instrument cluster display screen went dark and stopped working after you started the vehicle. When this happened, you couldn't see important information like your speed, fuel level, or blind spot warnings. The dealer confirmed the display itself is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Engine2 issues
criticalENGINE
Filed: Feb 2026

While accelerating on the freeway, your engine suddenly started smoking and lost power. The dealership found that cylinder 2 isn't firing, the piston and rod have separated from the engine, and there's a hole in the engine block with oil leaking from the oxygen sensor. This is a catastrophic engine failure that will require complete engine replacement or major internal rebuild.

NHTSA #: 11719219

Filed: Feb 2026

Your engine's serpentine belt is making a loud squealing noise during cold weather startup, lasting 1 to 5 minutes while the engine warms up. The belt has failed prematurely at under 40,000 miles, well before Kia's expected 80,000-mile lifespan. The belt will likely need to be replaced to stop the noise and prevent further damage.

Your instrument cluster (dashboard display) repeatedly goes blank while you're driving, sometimes occurring once a month or more. When this happens, you lose visibility of your speed, warning lights, and turn signal indicators, creating a safety risk. Even after the official recall repair (SC270) and dealer attempts to fix it, the problem keeps recurring — disconnecting the battery only provides temporary relief. Fixing this will likely require diagnostic testing of the instrument cluster wiring and control module, possibly replacement of the cluster assembly or its electrical connections.

Your sunroof spontaneously shattered and broke outward while your car was in use. A Kia dealership confirmed this was caused by a manufacturing defect that should be covered under warranty, but Kia's Consumer Affairs Department is refusing to pay for repairs under warranty coverage. You're being told you'll need to file an insurance claim or pay for the repair yourself.

Seat Belts2 issues
highSEAT BELTS
Filed: Feb 2026

Your seatbelts don't fit properly for shorter or larger occupants. The shoulder belt rubs against your neck instead of crossing your shoulder, and rear seatbelts must be fully extended to lock, creating discomfort and concerns about proper restraint positioning. This appears to be a design limitation rather than a mechanical failure. Addressing this would likely require redesigning the belt anchor points, adjusters, or belt routing geometry to better accommodate a wider range of occupant sizes.

Filed: Feb 2026

Your seatbelt shoulder strap rubs against your neck instead of crossing the center of your shoulder, even when the height adjuster is set to its lowest position. The rear seatbelts require full extension to lock and buckle, which prevents a snug fit and may not provide proper tension in a crash. These issues have been present since you first used the vehicle and raise concerns about neck and upper-body injury risk during an accident.

Power Train1 issue
criticalPOWER TRAIN
Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2023 Kia Telluride is experiencing three serious drivetrain and electrical issues that started around 48,000 miles and have worsened. The transmission shudders and stutters during acceleration, the vehicle randomly enters limp mode (limiting power to 30 mph) without warning—creating a dangerous highway condition—and your instrument panel periodically goes completely dark while driving, blocking your view of speed and fuel level. These issues require professional transmission diagnosis, transmission fluid service or torque converter replacement, electrical system troubleshooting, and instrument cluster repair.

Filed: Feb 2026

Your instrument panel doesn't turn on, so you can't see your speed, fuel level, or mileage. Your blind spot warning and lane assistance features also aren't working. This problem started suddenly when you turned on the car and happens every time — a Kia dealer confirmed they can reproduce it. A previous software recall didn't fix the issue, making it unsafe to drive since you can't monitor critical information like speed and fuel.

CrashFiled: Dec 2025

Your 2023 Kia Telluride has multiple unrepaired safety recalls that Kia did not properly notify you about. The issues include airbag wiring that may prevent deployment in a crash, faulty seatbelt pretensioners, a front seat motor that can overheat and cause fire, and a driveshaft defect that could allow the vehicle to roll out of Park unexpectedly. You've been driving this vehicle daily with your family, unaware of these serious safety risks. Repairs will require Kia to replace the airbag wiring harness, seatbelt pretensioners, front seat motors, and driveshaft components.

After picking up your car from the dealership, your dashboard warning lights all came on at once, your power steering stopped working, and your speedometer wasn't functioning (the reason it was in the shop). When you tried to drive it back to the dealership, your car completely lost power in the middle of traffic and wouldn't accelerate or shift gears, leaving you stranded on a busy road. The fix will likely involve a comprehensive electrical system diagnostic and potential replacement of faulty electrical components or modules.

Your digital instrument cluster screen won't turn on, so you can't see your speed, mileage, or other important vehicle information. Your car has been at the Kia dealership since January 2026 waiting for replacement parts, with no repair expected until June 2026. The dealership says a master mechanic will need to replace the backordered parts to fix this issue.

highVISIBILITY/WIPER,LANE DEPARTURE
Filed: Feb 2026

Your windshield washer fluid isn't spraying out properly, leaving your windshield unclear while driving. This creates a safety concern, especially in bad weather or when debris builds up on the glass. Even after service, the dealer said nothing is wrong, but you're still experiencing weak fluid output and reduced visibility.

Engine And Engine Cooling, electrical System1 issue
highENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Filed: Dec 2025

Your heating system isn't working properly—it only blows warm air while you're driving, but switches to cool air when you're stopped at a light or idling. Even while driving, the heat barely warms up the cabin, causing windows to fog up and reducing visibility. The dealer has replaced a sensor and the thermostat twice, but the problem keeps happening. The issue may require replacing the heater blower motor, thermostat housing, or checking the engine coolant circulation system.
