Your fuel tank is leaking at the seam, which is a serious safety hazard regardless of where the leak occurs. The dealership is refusing to cover the repair under warranty because the leak isn't on the tank bottom, but you'll need to replace the fuel tank, fuel pump assembly, and possibly other parts at a cost around $1,000. This repair involves removing and replacing the fuel tank and associated components.

You've noticed a gasoline smell coming from near the rear passenger door, and you discovered a gas leak underneath your vehicle. Your mechanic has replaced a component twice, but the leak has returned again. The repair will likely involve identifying and replacing the faulty fuel line, connection, or tank component that's causing the persistent leak.

You're noticing a strong gasoline smell inside and around your vehicle. Investigation revealed fuel is leaking from the fuel tank located under the center of the car, apparently due to rust and corrosion eating through the tank. You aren't able to drive the vehicle safely until this is addressed. The fix will require replacing the fuel tank.

Your check engine light came on, and a diagnostic test pointed to a problem with the maximum airflow unit. You're experiencing hesitation when driving at any speed. The exact cause hasn't been confirmed by a dealer yet. The repair will likely involve inspecting and possibly replacing the mass airflow sensor or related fuel system components.

ENGINE CONNECTORS C144 (THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR), C129 (MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR) AND C146 (IDLE SPEED ACTUATOR) LOSE CIRCUIT CONTINUITY WITH MOVEMENT OF THE ENGINE CAUSING ENGINE HESITATION, LOSS OF POWER AND FALSE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT " INDICATION ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. WIGGLING THE APPROPRIATE CONNECTOR RESTORES CONTINUITY TEMPORARILY BUT IT WILL RECUR AGAIN SHORTLY WITHIN A DAY OR TWO OF OPERATING THE VEHICLE. *JB
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT START. SHE THEN SMELLED A STRONG GAS ODOR. CONSUMER LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND DISCOVERED THAT THE GAS LINE POPPED OFF, AND GAS WAS SPILLING ALL OVER THE ENGINE.. SHE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT COULD HAD CAUSED THE LEAK. IN ORDER TO GET TO THE GAS LINE CONSUMER WOULD HAVE TO GO UNDER THE HOOD, AND NO ONE COULD GET UNDER THE HOOD. SO THE PROBLEM WAS UNEXPLAINABLE. *AK
