Owner Complaints (6)
Your car's automatic door locks are malfunctioning—when you try to unlock the doors, they immediately lock again, trapping you inside the vehicle. This happens repeatedly each time you attempt to unlock them. The fix will likely involve diagnosing and repairing the door lock actuators or the central locking system control module.

Your front subframe has developed significant rust that the owner describes as dangerous. This is reportedly the same issue that affected other Optimas in a previous recall. You should have this inspected by a mechanic to assess whether the rust is compromising the structural integrity of your vehicle.

Your instrument panel has stopped working completely — the speedometer, temperature gauge, RPM gauge, and fuel gauge are all not displaying. You've already checked the fuses, so the issue likely involves the instrument cluster itself or its wiring connections. A mechanic will need to diagnose whether the cluster needs repair or replacement, or if there's a wiring issue behind the dashboard.

Your car's clutch has required the same repair three times since you bought it new from the Kia dealership, suggesting a potential defect with the transmission system. This recurring issue indicates the problem may not have been fully resolved with previous repairs. The transmission may need to be inspected or replaced to prevent future failures.

"TAKATA RECALL" ON OR ABOUT OCTOBER 16, 2015 I COULD NOT GET OUT OF MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR...I WAS LOCKED IN. I AM UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE, OR FROM THE OUTSIDE WITH MY KEY. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AND I HAVE TO CLIMB ACROSS TO THE PASSENGER SIDE TO GET IN AND OUT. I DON'T KNOW IF IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, OR WHEN I STOPPED.
