VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Fix: Dealers will update the HCP software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 29, 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 04B.

Your windshield developed a 5-inch crack in the center after you used the remote starter and the front defroster activated. The crack quickly expanded to about 12 inches toward the driver's side while you were driving, directly blocking your view of the road. This creates a serious safety hazard since you can't see properly. The fix will likely require a complete windshield replacement.

Rear window defrost The defrost mechanism has become detached on most Jeeps making it unable to defrost the rear window for visability. has Not inspected by manufacturer or any other rep. No warning prior to failure 7/28/25 When I was trying to defrost my window due to fog.
Windshield developed a crack with no impact. Windshield was normal on a morning errand, then noticed on an afternoon impact. Took dealership and they took pictures, and they did not find any evidence of impact, but refuse to repair under warranty.
Rear defrost connector comes unsoldered. My car is a 2022 with less than 12,000 miles on it. I basically drive it during the summer months when going to the lake. I bought the car brand new as a special order and received it in march 2022. I went to use my rear defrost, for probably the first time since owning my car, and it wouldn’t work. I took it to the dealer to have the defrost fixed- but now I’m being told it’s not covered, as windows are only covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles. It’s not my window- it’s the defrost! From a simple online search I can see that MANY people are experiencing this SAME issue! A car that is less than 2 years old and has about 11,500 miles on it, should t have an issue with defrost working!
