The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at 40-50 MPH on the highway far right lane, several unknown warning lights illuminated as smoke was coming from under the hood. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal felt as if the friction was lost against her foot, and the accelerator pedal traveled all the way to the floorboard as the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact immediately pulled over to the side of the highway, turned off the vehicle, opened the front driver's side door, and noticed smoke and flames coming from beneath the vehicle. The fire department was notified and extinguished the fire. A fire department report was filed. No physical injuries were sustained; however, the contact stated she sustained emotional distress. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic; however, the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was being stored at the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 138,934.

I am having my oil cooler housing replaced once again after having replaced only 4 years ago. I am on my 3rd radiatior and 3 thermostat. This jeep is not driven hard or offroad and has been maintained in excellent condition. This engine is junk and not safe. I have not had warning lights only oil drippings in the driveway yet the oil level doesnt seem to change. If not caught this will cause your engine to lock up.

On a trip on 7/3/2025 out of state the engine failed due to a blown head gasket , which is the third engine related problem I have experienced . Other issues include: Broken exhaust valve spring, cracked oil filter housing. With being the original owner and having only 84,000 miles I feel this has to be an issue Jeep is having with my engine 3.6 Liter V6. I am lodging a formal complaint to hopefully, have help with the $11,000 quoted price to replace my engine. Thank you

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The check engine warning light was flashing. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the oil pressure sensor circuit had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to two other local dealers, Marino Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (5133 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60641) and Dodge Parts Overstock Parts (2875 Mall Hill Dr, Lakeland, FL 33810), where it was diagnosed the oil pressure sensor circuit had failed and needed to be replaced. The oil pressure sensor circuit was replaced, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 107,272.

Same problem that I'm having is happening to thousands of people. People are either swapping engines ($20k+) or fixing for ($5k+)Sand debris left in 3.6 engine at time of manufacturing that causes cooling system repair and eventually engine head replacement because of misfire warning. My jeep has 60k miles. Have already replace radiator 2 years ago and now I'm getting misfire on cylinder 2. Ran compression test on cylinder 2 . Only 80 psi showing on gauge compared to 150 psi in the other cylinders. Head is bad. There has been a extended warranty on older jeeps with same engine to fix the issue but, not for 2014 and up. Which makes no sense. PLEASE HELP

The engine has a known failure causing a cylinder misfire that is resolved by replacing the cylinder heads. This is a known issue to FCA and caused an extension of the powertrain warranty for the 2010-2014 models but does not cover later engines, that are still experiencing the same issues. The covered years needs to be extended to 2018 or beyond and all out-of-pocket repair costs should be refunded to the consumer.

My Jeep has the pentastar 3.6l engine and has recently developed what is known as the “pentastar tick”. This is caused by a design flaw with the valvetrain, specifically the lifters/rocker arms that causes excessive wear which leads to the tick, which may then lead to engine failure and loss of control. This is a very common problem with the 3.6 engine and FCA should be held responsible for the safety recall. FCA has already acknowledged the problem on 2012-2014 engines, and extended the warranty, but not on the later engines. Please look out for the consumer and hold them accountable.

I have just replaced the Engine oil filter housing on my 2015 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon for the fourth time the first three replacements were at East hills jeep on Long Island n.y the fourth repair was at Willis ave repair and diagnostic in Albertson N.Y at a cost of $859.33. Ongoing problem with thousands of other jeeps owners reporting the same issue. during the course of these breakdowns, I’ve had to have my vehicle towed to the repair place twice as the oil had drained out of the vehicle causing fatigue and overheating to the engine. I currently has 95,000 miles on my jeep witch is well taken care of and serviced at the East hills jeep dealership. My concern is future damage to my engine due to the extreme temperatures caused by the lack of oil and overheating due to this defect. How is it that the manufacturer is not held responsible for an obvious defect in a crucial engine component causing multiple replacements to thousands of similar vehicles.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The component that failed is the oil filter housing/assembly. It was changed out by the Pep Boys I do not have it on hand but upon research it appears that this is a known issue on the 3.6 and the 3.2 Chrysler Pentastar engines. Mopar made this part out of entirely plastic and it is now failing on a ton of vehicles. The replacement parts are all made out of metal/aluminum. Safety: this not only put myself at a safety risk but also puts other motorists on the road at risk. Not to mention the environmental safety that this can cause. The plastic part contains the oil filter for the engine. After time it warps and fails causing cracks and seal leaks that allows oil to drain out of the engine, onto the transmission manifold and all over the ground/road. There is no warning for this, one day you will walk out and find your vehicle bleeding all of its oil all over the pavement. This could happen to anyone at any time. I would hate to be on a motorcycle driving behind a Chrysler engine when their engine decides to fall apart and slick up the expressway with motor oil. Jeep/Chrysler knows that this is happening, they know it’s a problem because the replacement part is made of metal instead of plastic, and they refuse to do anything about this even under warranty. This is a part that is NEVER supposed to go bad on any cars, this is NOT a wear and tear part. I would like to see them held accountable for their (lack of) actions.

At 134,000 miles the engine developed a loud ticking. My garage reported that rocker arms, cam shafts and heads needed rrplacement. They recommended that Jeep dealer should be performing the work so that I might have a parts warranty. The dealer reported back that the work would be extensive and recommended engine replacement with a $13,000 estimate.

Faulty oil cooler. 2 different mechanics reported this as a common problem with 2015 jeep wrangler. Due to the way this model was made, the oil cooler is too close to the hot engine making it faulty. As well as the parts around it all have to be replaced. I've been told not to drive the vehicle due to fire hazard. The estimates I've been given are $1400 and up. I've also read many complaints about this same issue, same vehicle, same year, on several different web sites.

The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times while driving on a busy freeway. The failure also occurred while the vehicle was idling at a red light. After the failure, the vehicle was restarted and operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable duplicate a failure or determine the cause of the failure. My Jeep has a left cylinder head failure at 78k miles. Jeep forums are full of discussions regarding this issue. The dealer says there is no reason for the failure and that they have seen this before. Jeep says my warranty is expired so I am out of luck. This is my third Jeep and the first time I have had any issue mechanically. This failure is not from normal wear and tear. It's very frustrating that no recall on this obviously faulty engine part exists.

Check engine light came on. Took jeep to dealership - indicated that the left side cylinder head needed replaced, not placing would cause extensive damage. The vehicle had 65779 miles on it and is in excellent condition, there was no reason for the engine to have such significant problems based on usage. Learned this is a faulty issue and that Jeep is aware of it, although no additional warranty or recall was provided. I was paid over $3,392 to get the issue diagnosed and repaired.

No crash or injuries. My Jeep only has 45,000 original miles and it is leaking oil from the oil cooler. I researched and this seems to be a very common issue with the 2015 3.6 L Jeep Wrangler. It cost over $1,500 to repair. As the other gentleman stated in his complaint, I feel this is a major issue that needs to be addressed by Jeep. See the other post below for further detail: I OWN TWO JEEP WRANGLERS, A 2013 AND A 2015. I HAD THE 2015 REPAIRED AT A COST OF OVER $1,000.00. NOW MY 2013 HAS DEVELOPED THE SAME PROBLEM; TO WIT, THE OIL COOLER/ OIL FILTER HOUSING CRACKS ON CHRYSLER 3.6 ENGINES AND THE OIL IS SPREAD ONTO THE EXHAUST PIPE WHICH HAS THE POTENTIAL OF CAUSING A FIRE. IF THIS IS NOT DISCOVERED, THE OIL WILL SPREAD TO THE REAR TIRES WHICH WILL CAUSE A TRACTION OR BRAKING HAZARD. CHRYSLER HAS NOT MODIFIED THE HOUSING AND WHEN YOU REPLACE , IT IS REPLACED WITH THE SAME PART THAT WILL FAIL IN THE FUTURE. CHRYSLER HAS TO KNOW THAT THIS PROBLEM EXISTS BY THE # OF UNITS THAT THEY HAVE SOLD, NOT TO MENTION THE THOUSANDS OF UNITS THAT ARE SOLD ON EBAY AND AUTOMOTIVE PARTS STORES. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS SITUATION BEFORE PEOPLE ARE INJURED OR KILLED.

I have owned my Jeep since 2015 and bought it brand new from the dealership. I have replaced the thermostat three times already. Yesterday, 1-21-22, I was driving home on the interstate. The thermostat stuck again, would not open, and caused it to start dumping coolant out of it while driving. That caused the belt to slip and causing me to almost get into an accident trying to pull over. This Jeep has had several issues with overheating in the almost seven years I’ve had it.

My 2015 Jeep Wrangler with 80,200 developed the well know Pentastar Tick. The Jeep would misfire at idle when slowing to a stop light. The check engine light came on and the code was a P0304. I'm the original owner and took it to the dealer I purchased it from. They diagnosed the issue and called me stating that he Jeep needs new rockers and a cam shaft on the drivers side engine bank. FCA has known about this issue since 2012. I called FCA to see if they would provide any assistance to repair the Jeep. I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler with the Fiat Chrysler's 3.6 liter V- 6 Pentastar engine. The Jeep has only 44,465 miles on it and now has apparent design and manufacturing defects on the engine's left side , its the Pentastar Tick. The Tick Tick Tick is very loud and the engine will shudder, its only a matter of time before the engine shuts off on the highway when I am driving causing an accident. My dealer Hollywood Chrysler Jeep estimated repairs - need left side cams and full set of rockers - oil filter housing is leaking replace - replace abs sensor - coolant flush - carbon fuel cleaning -fluids service total $6,000.07 invoice # 584685. It looks like the cylinder head, gasket, cams, lifters and rockers need to be replaced. Chrysler needs to disclose these defects. Yes my jeep is available for inspection.

APOLOGIES IF THIS COMPLAINT IS A REPEAT, BUT I KEEP GETTING A SUBMISSION ERROR NOTICE WHENEVER I TRY TO SUBMIT THIS FORM. THE JEEP 4.0 LITER SIX CYLINDER ENGINE HAS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH RESPECT TO THE ROCKER ARM BEARINGS THAT CAUSES A LOUD TICKING NOISE IN THE ENGINE AND FAILURE OF THE EXHAUST AND INTAKE CAMSHAFTS. THIS HAPPENED TO OUR 2015 JEEP IN JANUARY 2020 WHEN IT HAD ONLY 31,000 MILES BUT WAS ONE MONTH OUT OF WARRANTY. CHRYSLER DID FIX IT AT THAT TIME AS A COURTESY SUBJECT TO A $100 FEE, AND A COPY OF THE INVOICE FOR THAT REPAIR IS PROVIDED. UNFORTUNATELY, A LITTLE OVER ONE YEAR LATER, AND WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES HAVING BEEN DRIVEN SINCE THE INITIAL REPAIR, THE SAME PROBLEM HAS REAPPEARED. THE DEALER IS NOW CLAIMING THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE REMAINING ROCKERS THAT WERE NOT REPLACED, AS IT IS CHRYSLER'S POLICY TO ONLY REPLACE THE ROCKER ARMS AND CAMSHAFTS THAT ARE DAMAGED AT THAT TIME. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER SAYS THAT THEY "SEE THIS ALL THE TIME" AND THAT THEY TRY TO GET ALL THE ROCKER ARMS REPLACED WHEN DOING ANY REPAIRS, BUT CHRYSLER DOES NOT ALLOW THEM TO DO SO. OF COURSE, CHRYSLER IS NOW REFUSING TO COVER THE REPAIRS, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED THE FIRST TIME. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, AND CHRYSLER SHOULD BE FORCED TO DO A FULL RECALL OF ALL AFFECTED ENGINES AND PAY FOR ALL REQUIRED REPAIRS. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ONLINE, YET CHRYSLER STILL REFUSES TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM.

THIS WAS CAUSING MY ENGINE TO NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE BEYOND 70 MPH. THEY CHANGED THE SENSOR, BUT AGAIN, WAS UNABLE TO GO OVER 70, AND ON AN INCLINE WOULD DROP DOWN TO 60 AND COULD GO NO FASTER (NO ENGINE LIGHT THIS TIME). OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY HAS STARTED LEAKING BADLY AFTER 60,000 MILES AND IS A FIRE HAZARD. THIS ASSEMBLY IS TOO FRAGILE AND REQUIRES TAKING OFF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD TO ACCESS AND REPLACE, SO IT SHOULD NOT BE A PLASTIC PART. IT CONTAINS THE OIL FILTER WHICH CAUSES IT TO HAVE TORQUE APPLIED EVERY OIL CHANGE AND CAUSES IT TO BREAK PREMATURELY. THIS IS VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THERE WERE 25,000 OF THESE ASSEMBLIES ON BACK ORDER NATIONWIDE AND HE COULD NOT TELL ME WHEN IT WOULD BE IN STOCK. MY JEEP IS NOW UNDRIVEABLE UNTIL THE BACKLOG IS WORKED THROUGH WHICH MAY TAKE MONTHS. IF THIS WAS A RARE PROBLEM I COULD GET THE PART AND HAVE IT REPAIRED. I WAS FORCED TO STOP BY MY MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD MY OIL COOLER ADAPTOR HOUSING WAS BROKEN AND LEAKING BADLY. I HAD PURCHASED A MOPAR PROTECTION PLAN DIRECTLY FROM COMPANY. WHEN I CALLED JEEP DEALERSHIP THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO BRING IT AND LET THEM DIAGNOSE IT BEFORE THEY COULD DECIDE IF IT WAS COVERED BY MY MOPAR CARE PLAN. MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS JEEP ENGINE BUT THEY HAD NOT DONE RECALL YET. I CALL MOPAR AND THEY WOULD NOT AUTHORIZED PAYMENT TO MY MECHANIC UNLESS HE CALL FOR AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. HE CALLED AND THEY SAID NO. THIS PART NEEDS TO BE HANDLED BY A RECALL IF IT'S THAT BAD. I WAS READING COMPLAINTS ON ANOTHER SITE AND THEY SAID IT COULD LEAD TO A FIRE STARTING BECAUSE OF OIL LEAKING ONTO EXHAUST.

I GET FREQUENT OIL CHANGES AND I NOTICED THAT THE LAST TWO OIL CHANGES IT STARTED MAKING THIS TICKING NOISE. I BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT AFTER THE NEXT FEW OIL CHANGES IT SHOULD GO AWAY. THAN MY OTHER MECHANIC THAT HEARD THIS TICKING NOISE SAID THAT IT WAS SERIOUS AND THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH AN ENGINE PART CALLLED A LIFTER. I NERVOUS WHEN HE TOLD ME THAT IF IT'S NOT FIXED THE ENGINE COULD SEIZE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS JEEP FROM A DEALER NOT KNOWING THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG WRANGLERS. I DID MY RESEARCH AND CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MILEAGE BUT MORE SO ON HOW THE ENGINE WAS BUILT. I SPOKE TO NUMBER OF DEALERSHIPS AND THEY FIX THIS COMMON PROBLEM ON ALL AGES AND MILEAGE WRANGLERS. THE ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIR WOULD RANGE FROM $2000 AND UP. I DON'T THINK WE AS CONSUMERS OF THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE REPAIRING AN ENGINE PROBLEM FROM CHRYSLER. I DON'T HAVE ANY PICTURES YET TIL THE DEALERSHIP OPENS UP THE ENGINE

GOT A SECOND OPTION, MY CAR HAS ROCKER NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT BANK AND CAN WEAR. ALSO SOME CYLINDER HEADS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE 2012 AND 2013 MODELS SO CHRYSLER SHOULD BE TAKING THESE ISSUES SERIOUSLY AND EXTENDED AND RECALLING ALL 2015 JEEPS TO DO A MAINTENANCE CHECK. I WAS TOLD UPON MY INDEPENDENT REVIEW NOT TO DRIVE MY CAR, TO GET IT HOME SAFE AND SLOW. I HAVE REPORTED THE DEALERSHIP TO THE BBB AND FILED A CLAIM WITH CHRYSLER. THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

BOTH TIMES TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP, BOTH TIMES UNDER WARRANTY. FIRST TIME I WAS TOLD A BROKEN VALVE SPRING AND VALVE COVER HAD LEAKED OIL INTO IGNITION SYSTEM. VALVE SPRING/COVER WORK COVERED, TUNE UP AND REDOING IGNITION SYSTEM NOT...? WAS TOLD TO CONTACT MANUFACTURER, THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT DEALER. THIS TIME(2/2020) TOWED IN, TOOK SIX DAYS TO BE TOLD BROKEN VALVE SPRING/VALVE COVER BUT ALSO A DEFECTIVE CYLINDER HEAD. ALSO TOLD CYLINDER HEAD ON BACK ORDER, COULD BE MONTHS. VEHICLE IS MAINTAINED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS SCHEDULES, DON'T DO TRACTOR PULLING WITH IT, THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN DEFECTIVE, JUST LIKE THE BAD RADIATORS OR HEATING SYSTEM GOOPED UP WITH SAND. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN I TURNED THE HEAT ON, IT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY SEND WARM AND THEN COOL AIR OUT OF THE BLOWERS. ONE 38 DEGREE DAY, IT SENT OUT NO HEAT AT ALL. IN OCTOBER 2019, THE ANTI-FREEZE FLUID LEVEL WAS LOW AND IT WAS FILLED. IN DEC 2019, THE ENTIRE RESERVE TANK WAS EMPTY. NO FLUID WAS VISIBLE IN THE RADIATOR WHEN THE RADIATOR CAP WAS REMOVED. I HAVE OBSERVED WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR 3-5 MILES AND THEN TURNED OFF, THERE IS A SLIGHT ODOR OF ANTI-FREEZE. IT APPEARS MY VEHICLE MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE HEATER CORE.

AT APPROXIMATELY 12K MILES I NOTICED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND MOVED FROM THE STREET TO THE DRIVEWAY AND TURNED OFF BEFORE IT COULD REACH NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE, UPON RESTART, THERE WOULD BE A PUFF OF BLUE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST. THE DEALERSHIP INVESTIGATED AND SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. AT 20,500 MILES THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING POORLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID A FUEL INJECTOR HAD GONE BAD AND THEY ALSO FOUND 3 BAD ENGINE ROCKER ARMS. THE ROCKER ARMS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. INCIDENTALLY, THE ISSUE WITH THE BLUE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST DISAPPEARED. AT 28,000 MILES THE ENGINE WAS BEGINNING TO DEVELOP AN AUDIBLE TICKING NOISE. THE DEALERSHIP INVESTIGATED AND THIS TIME REPLACED 4 BAD ROCKER ARMS. AT LEAST 1 OF THE ROCKER ARMS WAS THE SAME ONE (#1 INTAKE) THAT HAD BEEN REPLACED DURING THE PRIOR SERVICING.

MY 2015 JEEP WRANGLER WITH LESS THAN 36,000 MILES (CURRENT MILEAGE IS 31,000) DEVELOPED A HOLE IN THE UPPER RIGHT (FACING THE VEHICLE) ON THE RADIATOR. ONLY FACTORY AUTHORIZED ANTIFREEZE WAS IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. IN FACT, THE COOLANT HAD NEVER BEEN TOUCHED SINCE PURCHASING IT NEW APRIL 17TH, 2015. THIS PAST FALL I KNEW I HAD A LEAK AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID IT WAS LEAKING OIL AROUND MY OIL FILTER AND ENDED UP CHARGING ME $46.00 FOR AN OIL CHANGE; HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC (PETE) COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE LEAK. I FELT THE FLUID ON MY GARAGE FLOOR WITH MY FINGERS AND HONESTLY THOUGHT IS WAS PART OIL AND ANTIFREEZE. NOW, ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 26, 2018 THEY ARE GOING TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND THE DEALER'S ESTIMATE WAS APPROXIMATELY $800.00 DOLLARS. IN SHORT, NO RADIATOR SHOULD BLOW A HOLE IN THE SIDEWALL OF THE RADIATOR WITH SO FEW MILES AND TIME.

I AM HAVING DIFFICULTIES WITH MY BRAND NEW PURCHASED JEEP WRANGLER AND IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP SINCE SEPTEMBER WITH NO RESOLUTION. THIS JEEP IS 19 MONTHS OLD AND WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW FROM SAHARA JEEP. DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT DOES RUN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY CHOOSES TO LOSE POWER WHILE I'M DRIVING AND ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING IS NOT AN OPTION. NOT REALLY SAFE ESPECIALLY WHEN MY DAILY COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK IS OVER 20 MILES ONE WAY ON HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE ENGINE HAS STOPPED ABOUT 6 TIMES AND TWO TIMES OF THOSE HAS BEEN ON HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHICH IS NOT A SAFE PLACE. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY THAT WHEN IT HAPPENED THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN REAR ENDED OR EVEN WORSE HAVE CAUSED ANY ACCIDENTS. I HAVE CONTINUOUSLY BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO CHAPMAN AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES AND THEN NOW THE VEHICLE IS AT SAHARA AND I AM GETTING THE SAME ANSWERS. ALTHOUGH ERROR LIGHTS HAVE COME ON AND I HAVE GIVEN THE DEALERSHIPS THOSE THEY ARE STILL UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE WHAT IS MAKING THE VEHICLE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOP.DIAGNOSTIC TESTING KEEPS COMING UP NEGATIVE. I WAS GIVEN A FLIGHT RECORDER TO ATTACH TO MY JEEP TO HELP ASSESS THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE DIED AND I WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY RUN CODES THROUGH THEIR RECORDER (SUPPLIED BY JEEP) AND HAD THE VEHICLE BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEIR COMPUTERS WERE DOWN AND UNABLE TO READ THE CODES BUT THEY DID CAPTURE SOMETHING BUT HAD FORWARDED IT ONTO CORPORATE TO READ. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE OIL LIGHT BEGAN TO TURN ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. I MADE IT TO A CHRYSLER/JEEP DEALER AND FOUND A PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER MY CAR AND THERE WAS NO OIL REGISTERING ON THE DIPSTICK. AFTER THE JEEP SERVICE DEPARTMENT EVENTUALLY LOOKED AT MY CAR, I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A CRACKED OIL FILTER ADAPTER THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED.
