Fix: Quadratec will notify owners and either exchange the liners or provide them with a hook guard kit to help secure the driver-side mat, free of charge. The recall began on April 4, 2013. Owners may contact Quadratec at 1-800-463-2998 or info@quadratec.com.

Fuel/propulsion System4 issues
highFUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Nov 2022

When you fill your fuel tank, gasoline overflows significantly — sometimes a quart or more — rather than just stopping at the fill line. This creates a safety hazard around the pump, leaves you smelling like gasoline, and wastes fuel. The issue appears to be with the fuel filler tube or its check valve, and a replacement filler tube with a built-in check valve has been identified as a potential fix.

NHTSA #: 11492255
highFUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: May 2022

When you fill up your gas tank, fuel overflows and spills onto the ground, even when you pump slowly and carefully. This happens repeatedly and appears to be a malfunction in the fuel system. The overflow could create a fire hazard or expose you to gasoline fumes. The fix will likely involve inspecting or replacing the fuel filler neck, vent valve, or related fuel system components that control how fuel fills the tank.

NHTSA #: 11466605
mediumFUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Dec 2024

When you fill up your gas tank, gasoline spits back out of the nozzle every time, forcing you to fill very slowly or the pump stops automatically. This has been happening consistently for almost 2 years. The fuel filler tube is likely the cause and may be covered under your vehicle's warranty at a dealership.

Your fuel tank overflows every time you fill it up with gas. This is a recurring issue that happens consistently during refueling. The problem likely involves the fuel filler neck, vent system, or internal tank components that should prevent overflow.

You were involved in a high-speed frontal collision at 55 mph that caused your Jeep to roll over multiple times. Despite the severity of the crash and rollover, none of your airbags deployed — including the driver's front airbag — while airbags deployed in the other vehicles involved. You sustained injuries and believe the airbag failure may have contributed to your injuries. The repair would involve a complete diagnostic inspection and possible replacement of the airbag control module, impact sensors, and airbag units.

Your Jeep Wrangler is subject to an airbag recall (Campaign 16V290000), but the replacement parts needed to fix it aren't currently available from your dealer. You've been waiting longer than seems reasonable for the repair to be completed, and the manufacturer hasn't been notified of the delay. The fix will involve replacing the faulty airbag components once they become available.

NHTSA #: 11498993
highAIR BAGS
Filed: Jan 2022

Your 2009 Jeep Wrangler is subject to a recall for airbag issues, but the dealer told you the replacement part wasn't available—and the manufacturer has taken longer than reasonable to provide it. While driving at 65 mph with cruise control engaged, the cruise control stopped working, and you've noticed abnormal clicking and grinding sounds when turning the steering wheel. Your ABS, stability control, and parking brake warning lights are all on, and the dealer says these problems are connected to the airbag recall. Getting the recall repair done will require waiting for the manufacturer to supply the necessary airbag system component.

Filed: Jun 2025

Your Wrangler's brakes locked up repeatedly, which your dealer says is caused by a faulty ABS module. Unfortunately, that specific part is no longer manufactured, leaving you without an available fix for this safety issue. Your wife nearly had an accident because of this problem.

NHTSA #: 11668711

Filed: Aug 2023

Your ABS (anti-lock braking system) controller has failed, which means your anti-lock brakes are no longer working. This can cause you to lose control of your vehicle during braking or experience reduced brake response. Your dashboard warning lights (ABS, Brakes, Anti-Slip, Check Engine) all came on at once. Fixing this will require replacing the ABS controller unit, but the part is currently on back order with no estimated arrival date.

Power Train1 issue
criticalPOWER TRAIN
Filed: Aug 2024

Your manual transmission is not staying in first gear and randomly pops out of gear while driving, which has left you stranded in traffic intersections. This happens frequently and creates a serious safety hazard since you lose engine power unexpectedly. The problem has been confirmed by dealers and occurs without any warning lights. Fixing this likely requires transmission repair or replacement to address the internal components causing the gear slippage.

Your Jeep's warning light came on during normal driving, and a diagnostic scan indicated a transmission code. After checking the transmission fluid (which was full), you drove home and noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment. When you opened the hood, flames were visible inside the engine bay. You used fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire. The vehicle had been regularly maintained and only had 92,000 miles on it.

Your Jeep's TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) can fail while you're driving, which is unsafe. This failure can cause your lights and wipers to stop working, and your engine may stall unexpectedly or fail to start — creating dangerous driving situations. The repair typically involves replacing the faulty TIPM unit.

Your Jeep's ABS (antilock braking) module may be faulty, which is a known issue affecting many Chrysler/Jeep vehicles. This module controls your anti-lock braking system and helps prevent your wheels from locking up during hard braking. A faulty ABS module could compromise your braking safety. The dealership indicated replacement parts weren't expected to be available until February 2023, which may require ordering and installing a new ABS control module.

CrashFiled: Mar 2022

Your Jeep is experiencing severe steering vibration (known as 'death wobble') that has caused a crash. Your Jeep experienced severe shaking and vibration in the front end after hitting a bump on the highway, a problem known as "death wobble." Your dealership says your 2009 Wrangler isn't covered by the recall because it has expired. This suspension issue is a serious safety concern, especially with passengers in the vehicle. Your car beeped constantly, all dashboard lights lit up at once, and your gauges stopped working—including your speedometer, fuel gauge, tachometer, and temperature gauge. You also heard a clicking noise from the transmission area while driving home. The issue was traced to a faulty Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM), which controls your car's electrical systems. The fix will likely involve replacing the TIPM unit.
