The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the rear windshield shattered prior to opening the liftgate. The contact stated that at the time of the failure, the vehicle was parked, and the rear defroster was activated. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the rear windshield was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,800.
My rear windshield shattered without any reason. It was a cold morning (30F). I used the remote start feature to turn on the car. When I start the car and start moving, I heard the shattering sound and my whole back windshield is broken. There we no scratches and prior damages on the back windshield.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GRIFFIN MOTORS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP KIA (9576 MERCER PIKE, MEADVILLE, PA 16335 (814) 333-4618) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GLASS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PARTS BEING ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
