Owner Complaints (7)
While parking, your car suddenly accelerated on its own and wouldn't stop, even when you pressed the brake pedal hard with both feet. The engine kept roaring and the car moved toward a tree and building until you turned off the engine to stop it. You had the car towed to a mechanic because you're concerned this unintended acceleration could happen again. This issue may involve the throttle control system, fuel system, or brake system and will require a mechanic to diagnose which component is causing the unexpected acceleration.

Car makes loud humming noise when accelerating and safety break go off for no reason when backing up or parking . I try put gas’s but it doesn’t let me keep the nozzle in . Gas’s light always going off
Cylinder head gasket(s) has a leak. It limited my ability to speed up and keep up with traffic in a timely manner, requiring me to put on hazards forcing others to navigate around me causing a backlog of traffic and other potential hazards. I have had inspected by two different auto repair shops and both came to the same conclusion, they have also told me that they have seen this issue on the same make and model of my car and other surrounding years of the same make and model quite a bit. check engine light came on, and there was a sensor warning on the dash the day of the problem cropping up. Per the repair shops either this issue has been silently present in my car for some time or the leak in it is very aggressive due to the remaining volume of oil in my engine.
Backing out of garage to driveway just a few feet. Car suddenly accelerated on its own to a very high speed in Reverse. Knocked down a tree and busted through the neighbor's garage wall. Attempted to pump brakes but it did not help one bit. My safety was at risk and luckily I was not hurt. Luckily there was no one in the alley or at my neighbor's driveway or garage. People could have been killed based on how fast the car suddenly accelerated. No warning lights were on prior to the incident. Nothing to indicate there was a problem with the car. When the car stopped as a result of hitting the garage wall, it was still in reverse. There is $20k damage to my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The collision company said they will make sure its safe to drive but I'm not sure if it should be inspected elsewhere. I will contact a dealer to inspect after collision company releases the car. How am I to drive this car again not knowing if this could happen again and potentially result in death of someone? The car is certainly available for inspection.
I WAS DRIVING HOME AND THE JEEP SWITCHED TO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN AND FLASHED "SHIFT TO PARK" ON THE SCREEN. I HAD TO ROLL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, PUT IT IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT. I HAVE KIDS. IF THIS HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY WE WILL BE HURT.
THE GAS PEDAL BECAME STUCK WHEN I WAS DRIVING AROUND LOCAL STREETS. I WAS STOPPING MY TRUCK BECAUSE I WAS COMING UP TO AN INTERSECTION. WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL IT DID NOT COME UP. ALMOST AS IF THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED. IT WAS SCARY AND I WENT A LITTLE TOO FAR INTO THE INTERSECTION WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE.
