CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 CHRYSLER 300, DODGE CHALLENGER, CHARGER, JEEP COMMANDER, GRAND CHEROKEE AND DODGE RAM VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A WIRELESS IGNITION NODE (WIN) MODULE EXHIBITING A BINDING CONDITION OF THE SOLENOID LATCH.
Fix: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE WIN MODULE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 23, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE PASSENGER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 22 THROUGH NOVEMBER 12, 2009. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MAY NOT PROPERLY DEPLOY THROUGH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TEAR SEAM.
Fix: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE TOP COVER OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FREE OF CHARGE. THE CAMPAIGN IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN DECEMBER 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

THE FOB WILL NOT OPEN THE LOCKS OR THEY JUMP BETWEEN LOCKED AND UNLOCKED BY THEMSELVES. THE WINDOWS WILL OPEN ON THEIR OWN ESPECIALLY THE LIFT WINDOW IN THE BACK WHEN DRIVING OR SITTING STILL. THE PANIC ALARM GOES OFF WITHOUT A REASON.IT WILL START ON IT'S OWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT OR IN A PARKING LOT. MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHETHER I AM THERE OR NOT .DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN NOT GET IT TO DO THESE THINGS.IT BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN JUNE AND IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THEN.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE RECEIVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM RECALL NUMBER: K08 (WIRELESS IGNITION NODE RECEIVER). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
AT ANY RANDOM TIME MY 2010 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO WILL NOT START. THE BATTERY IS NEW. LIGHTS COME ON, RADIO COMES ON, LIGHTS DO NOT DIM, BUT JEEP WILL NOT START. AFTER A FEW HOURS OF WAITING AND TRYING AGAIN IT STARTS UP FINE. HAD IT CHECKED , ISSUE COULDN'T BE FOUND. HAPPENED AGAIN AND WAS STRANDED IN THE SNOW , MORE THAN ONCE. ISSUE STILL HAPPENS AND IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. SO MUCH SO I CANNOT COUNT ON THAT VEHICLE.
SOMETIMES ENGINE EXPERIENCES NO CRANK/NO START. I DID GOOGLE SEARCH THAT ITS WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE FAILS. THERE IS A RECALL FOR NEWER MODE BUT NOT FOR 210 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE.
THE IGNITION SWITCH WON'T START MY JEEP PUT KEY IN AND NOTHING NO CLICKS NO TRYING TO START NOTHING THEN AFTER SOMETIME IT WILL START THEN AGAIN IT WON'T START
SEAT WARMERS NOT WORKING THEN CAR BATTERY KEEPS DRAINING AND DYING. NOTICED SEAT WARMERS WHERE NOT WORKING FIRST WHEN DRIVING THEN WHEN PARKED WHEN WE SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND LOCK IT.SETS OVERNIGHT AND THEN VEHICLE ACTS COMPLETELY DEAD WILL NOT UNLOCK, TURN ON, LIGHTS BARELY ON.
TAKATA RECALL VEHICLE WILL START INTERMITTENTLY GETTING WORSE, I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE STARTER. MY CAR WILL TURN OVER ON IT'S OWN IF I LEAVE MY KEY IN THE START POSITION TO HAVE THE RADIO ON WITHOUT ME TOUCHING THE KEY OR CRANKING IT OVER. KEY CAN BE REMOVED WHILE STARTED BEING UNSAFE
WHEN I TRY TO START MY CAR I TURN THE KEY AND ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON BUT THE CAR WILL NOT START. THE BATTERY IS NEW. THE STARTER DOESN'T ENGAGE AT ALL. ALSO WHEN I TRY TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE CAR WITH THE KEY FOB I HAVE TO PRESS THE KEY FOB 10-15 TIMES TO GET IT TO WORK. I BROUGHT IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY SAID THERE WASN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT.

IGNITION IS NOW STUCK BETWEEN ACC AND ON MODE AND KEY IS REMOVABLE WHILE IN MOTION. VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO BE SHUT OFF VIA KEY IGNITION, TO TURN OFF VEHICLE BATTERY CABLE MUST BE REMOVED.
WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES PER HOUR WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. MY POWER STEERING AND BRAKES STOPPED WORKING AS WELL AND I ALMOST REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. I ASSUMED IT WAS THE BATTERY AND REPLACED THE VEHICLE BATTERY AT A COST OF $225.00. THE CAR WORKED INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS UNTIL TODAY, WHEN I HAD SHUT IT OFF AND THEN IT WOULDN'T RESTART. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND GOT IT TO GARDEN CITY JEEP WHERE THEY TOLD ME IT WAS INDEED A WIN MODULE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THAT EXACT PART FOR APPROXIMATELY 7,000 OTHER 2010 GRAND CHEROKEES AND WONDERING WHY OTHERS WERE NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED A BURNING PLASTIC ODOR COMING FROM THE AIR VENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE INITIAL FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
