Your infotainment screen frequently goes black or displays information upside down, making it difficult to see the backup camera feed and control settings. The screen typically works normally only after the car has been driven long enough to warm up significantly. This creates a safety concern since you can't reliably see the backup camera when needed. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the display connection or replacing the infotainment screen unit.

Your rear view camera stops working intermittently and has now stopped completely, showing "camera system unavailable" on your display. While there's a recall for your 2021 Jeep Compass, your specific VIN isn't included, and Stellantis won't help. This creates a safety concern when backing up. The dealership wants to charge you $210 just to diagnose the issue, which likely involves checking the camera connection, wiring, or the display module itself.

Since I first got my brand new JEEP COMPASS in 2021, the tire pressure light would flash on and off, with a warning that my tire pressure was low. When I first saw this light come on, I obviously didn't realize that this light was faulty and inaccurate. I took it to the dealership to check my tire pressure and it was completely fine and normal, so all of that worry and time taking it to the dealership for nothing. That initially happened only about four months into having the brand new vehicle. Since then, that light still flashes on and off, and I ignore it because I know that it is faulty. This is a major safety concern, because if my tire pressure is low, I won't ever know if it is accurate or not, so I could be driving with low tires and potentially get into a bad accident. Additionally, the automatic stop / start button has come on multiple times. It initially came on May 2024, which then triggered the check engine light. I had to take in my car due to this issue, and it was in the dealership for a week, resulting in a thousand dollar charge, and all of the Ubers I had to pay for. The automatic stop / start button killed both of my batteries and I had to replace those. Not even a year later, March 2025, the automatic stop / start button light came on my dashboard again. I took it into the dealership yet again this month, and it was in there for a full week, so I was without a car that entire time having to pay for Ubers and so on. When I picked up the car, the mechanic informed me that this is a common issue and will continue to be an issue. In his professional opinion, he thought this should be a recall. I know it his not his call, but I do think that there should be some sort of resolution or help that I receive for this. I know that this will continue to be an issue, especially a SAFETY issue, so what is the resolution here? Please help.
I have replaced both batteries and the alternator. The stop/start light comes on and the red warning to pull over safely the vehicle will shut off soon and the engine light comes on. The vehicle is now telling me to service transmission. The dealer doesn't know what's wrong with it. I want this taken care of.
The screen in most 2018-present jeep compasses are defective. My car just fell out of the warranty time frame and shortly after the screen failed resulting in no alerts via the back up camera. The camera helps alert you to things you can not see in your blind spots behind the vehicle resulting in a serious safety issue for pedestrians/ small children etc outside of the vehicle and also poses a threat to the driver. There were 0 warnings of failure in this component and I have read numerous hundreds of others describing the same issue. Expecting consumers to purchase this car with such failure rates is irresponsible and negligent. For a device that should have a life of 5-10 years failing after 3 is disappointing.
I been having a problem as I noticed it’s been seen multiple times with a jeep compass well mine is a 2021 jeep compass trail hawk. The car will shut off and say high coolant temp when that’s not the problem. The car is not hot and there is no problem with it just lose power and have no control over the car. It shuts off when I’m driving on the highway has left me stranded multiple times. Almost got hit turning on to the highway and it died as I was turning with a car head on. This is so unsafe. The car has been in the shop multiple times they replace stuff say it’s fixed it’s not and happens the minute I drive off. I been stuck in the middle of the lane with oncoming traffic’s and almost been hit. The dealership seams to not know what’s wrong with it and it’s so unsafe to be driving around in. Along with the many other people who have had the same problem. This is dangerous and keep should not be selling unsafe cars.
My 2021 Jeep Compass Trailhawk has been in very good condition until the ac recently just started to blow hot air. When I took my jeep in for a routine oil/filter, my local auto mechanic said that upon visual inspection the a/c clutch (part of the a/c compressor) was melted and that I would need a whole new a/c compressor assembly, possibly replace the drier, and completely flush the system. I can't believe that for a fairly new car in very good condition this type of problem shows up. I called Jeep and they said that there is no recall on the a/c compressor for my jeep. However, my mechanic that is now working on fixing the issue said he has to wait a few days for the compressor kit parts as it was on backorder, so there must be other similar issues ongoing. I would like to know how I can get reimbursed for a problem that should not be happening with a 2021 Jeep in very good condition? I am not sure if this is a jeep class issue. When I turned on my vehicle, I saw about 10 different error messages flash across my dashboard like it was having some sort of exorcism, and then it stopped. No errors were on the dashboard. Everything looked good. I waited a few minutes and my driveway, and then took off for work. As I was making my way out of the neighborhood. I was going about 10 mph, it wasn’t until I pulled out to my neighborhood onto incoming traffic to cross the road that I realized that the gas pedal was not responding and the car was just rolling at like preset 10 mph speed. I hit the gas pedal many times and the car didn’t respond. Thankfully I was able to get in the middle lane to avoid a collision, but it was very scary and I consider this to be a tech defect high severity , I called my dealer and they said it’s gonna be a few hundred dollars to look at it and that’s totally not OK
When stopped at a stop sign (on a slight incline, if that could be a factor), the Compass suddenly lost power. No reaction from pressing the gas pedal at all. In Drive or in Reverse. The Check Engine light came on and the temperature gauge went all the way up. Putting it in Park and restarting cleared the Check Engine light and the temperature gauge was right back to normal. Almost like nothing had happened. Thankfully it was a small intersection with no other traffic. But could this happen on the freeway?
My jeep compass has turned off on me a couple of times as I have been driving. At high speed on the highway and driving in my jobs parking garage arriving to work. Brake coolant has came up on the dash board and the car has stopped running and locking immediately. I have had to restart my vehicle. My safety and others were put at risk as it could have caused a major accident on the parkway that I take to and from work. as well as other drivers around me. There has not been any other warnings or messages or symptoms prior to the shut offs on my vehicle. I took it to the dealership and they keep saying nothing is wrong with my vehicle. This vehicle has put me in danger! & i do not feel safe until it is resolved.
Error message on dash "Coolant Temperature Too High" and vehicle shuts down. This is happening multiple times. Sometimes it happens multiple times in a week and won't do it for a couple months and then it starts to happen again. Sometimes the vehicle will self resolve after 5-10 seconds and let me keep driving, other times it will shut down and make me restart the vehicle. After restarting, the vehicle is fine as if nothing happened. This has happened going 5-10mph and has also happened driving down highways at 60mph. In some instances, this is happening when stopped and then turning into oncoming traffic and the vehicle stalls which may cause someone to crash into me. Thankfully it hasn't happened yet. After some internet research it appears an investigation was already opened on 2019-2020 jeep compass's for this same issue (PP 22-013).
Rear ended decelerating someone and the car went up in flames then blew up. We are not sure why this happened or what failed for this to happen. Had I not gotten out to check on the other vehicle I could have been seriously injured or worse and this has been looked at by our insurance company.
THE 2021 JEEP COMPASS HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER MORE THAN 5 TIMES DUE TO VEHICLE CONSTANTLY BLOWING HOT AIR DURING HOT SUMMER DAYS.AC STILL DOESNT WORK AN WITH HOT AIR BLOWING IT STARTS TO FOG UP FRONT DOOR WINDOWS.
On Friday, November 5th I was driving my 2021 Jeep Compass when it suddenly stopped in the middle of the road and the message came on 'vehicle not in park' and 'key fib not found.' I pulled into a shopping complex and called the dealer Napleton Chrysler in Clermont, FL and was advised to call Chrysler Roadside Assistant. I called and a tow truck came and took the vehicle to the dealership. On 11/06 Greg serviced my vehicle and he said that the battery was faulty and he changed it and he also changed a part in the glove compartment. I asked him why should a 2021 vehicle has this problem and he said he did not know and he was sending the battery to Chrysler. I took possession on 11/06. On 11/07 I drove to work and on coming home the same incident happened. This time I had to wait about 3 hours for a tow truck to come and then since I had to go to work the next day went to get a rental. Did not get home until after 10:45pm. I am still waiting to get a call from the dealership. This is unacceptable and a serious accident can happen. I do not want to keep this vehicle.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2021 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE VEHICLE SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO A SIDE BARRIER. MY HUSBAND AND I BUY TWO JEEPS. THE REASON I CHOOSE MINE AND HE CHOOSE HIS, WAS FUEL ECONOMY. BUT THE JEEP COMPASS IS NOT PERFORMING AT ALL TO THE STANDARDS. I DID CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WERE VERY NICE SETTING AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE COMPASS TO HAVE A CHECK AND SEE WHAT WAS WRONG. PLEASE FIND ATTACHED THE RESULTS OF THE CHECK-UP. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE REPORT FROM THE MECHANICS, NOT EVEN THE CAR LIES IN REGARDS TO THIS SITUATION CLEARLY SAYS THAT ONLY DOES 13.5 MILES PER GALLON. THE ADVERTISING ALSO ATTACHED SAYS AN AVERAGE OF 25 MPG 22 MPG ON CITY AND 31 MPG ON HIGHWAY. I WILL UNDERSTAND IF PERHAPS THE CAR DOES 20 MPG IN HWY AND 18 MPG IN THE CITY SINCE PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT STYLES OF DRIVING AND THAT WILL REFLECT IN THEIR GASOLINE CONSUMPTION. BUT THIS LITTLE BEAUTIFUL CAR DOES NOT HAVE A V8 ENGINE TO DO ONLY 13.5 AND IT SAYS SO ON THE DASHBOARD. PLACING A CAR IN A COMPUTER SYSTEM TO CHECK IT IS ALSO A BIT TRICKY BECAUSE THE COMPUTER WILL ANALYZE IF THERE IS A BAD PART IN THE CAR, THE COMPUTER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DETECT A POORLY CONSTRUCT PART THAT CAUSES THAT HUGE AMOUNT OF GAS USE PER GALLON.
VIN NOT EXISTING. THIS VEHICLE IS LISTED FOR $1 A DEALER INCENTIVE OF $29,...... I ASKED TO PURCHASE AN MAKE DELIVERY. IS THERE ANY REASON VIN NOT FOUND. IS THIS A REAL CAR.?
