Both rear seat belts on your Jeep Compass have frayed and separated at the point where they connect to the retractor mechanism. The webbing has worn through completely at the same spot on both sides, which means the belts may not restrain occupants properly in a crash. The dealer has confirmed this damage, and Jeep has been notified of the defect. Replacing both rear seat belt assemblies will be necessary to restore proper safety restraint function.
