The upper metal latch on your glove box has a sharp, knife-like edge that can cut your hand when you reach in. The edge was not filed smooth before the part was painted, leaving it dangerously sharp. This has already caused cuts and skin abrasion to the owner. A simple fix involves filing down the sharp edge and touching up the paint.

2007 JEEP COMPASS EXPERIENCED SUBFRAME RUST/ROT WITH TOTAL FAILURE AT 76,XXX MILES WHILE BEING OPERATED STRAIGHT ON A STATE HIGHWAY.
LEAKS WATER THROUGH DOME LIGHT WHILE DRIVING. WATER POOLS IN THE DOME LIGHT AND AFTER HEAVY RAINS I FIND 2 INCH PUDDLES OF WATER ON MY PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR. THIS IS NOT ONLY A FIRE HAZARD AS IT'S COMING THROUGH AN ELECTRIC PORT DRIPPING ON MY RADIO BUT ALSO JUST A HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AND SURPRISED WITH WATER POURING OUT OF THE LIGHT. HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY GETTING WORSE FOR YEARS NOW, STARTED WITH THE OCCASIONAL DRIP.
AFTER FILLING UP MY 07 JEEP COMPASS NOT EVEN AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT THE JEEP STARTED STUTTERING AND SHUT OFF .. IT HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL I GOT HOME. WHILE ACCELERATING IT WOULD ACT LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL . AND WHILE COMING TO A SHOP IT WOULD CUT OFF. I WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE OF THIS . AND I HAD MY DISABLED DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS & SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE .
I BOUGHT THE JEEP COMPASS AROUND JULY OR AUG. NO SOONER THEN I BOUGHT IT IT WOULD JERK WHEN I WOULD TAKE OFF. THEN MY RPMS WOULD REV UP. LILE ITS NOT SHIFTING THE RIFHT WAY. ALSO MY JEEP HAS A HARD TIME GOING UP HILL. I DON'T FEEL LIKE MY JEEP IS SAFE AND IT SCARES ME. ALSO MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TODAY.
I PURCHASED VEHICLE IN FEB 2018 FOR MY THEN 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. LAST COUPLE OF REFUELS, VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT AFTER LEAVING GAS STATION. SHE LOOSES POWER, STEERING & BRAKING ABILITY WHEN THIS OCCURS. VEHICLE WILL START BACK UP DRIVE ALONG A WHILE THEN STALL OUT AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES THEN WILL OPERATE NORMALLY TILL NEXT FILL-UP.
TODAY WHILE LEAVING A DRIVE THRU MY CAR STALLED AND THEN WENT BACK TO NORMAL, I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE 20 SECONDS AFTER LEAVING THE DRIVE THRU WINDOW AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. ABOUT 5 SECONDS AFTER THAT MY CAR HAD JUST DIED. I PUT IT IN PARK, AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT STARTED UP WITH NO ISSUES AND I DROVE HOME WITH NO ISSUES (ABOUT 20 MILES FROM MY HOME). THIS HOWEVER IS NOT THE FIRST TIE BUT THE THIRD TIME IN LESS THEN A MONTH OF OWNING IT. THE FIRST TWO TIMES HAPPENED AFTER I FILLED MY CAR UP COMPLETELY WITH FUEL. TODAY MY CAR WAS BETWEEN ONE QUARTER AND HALF TANK. I HAD NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON EITHER. THE CAR SEEMS TO ACTUALLY DIE WHENEVER I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP.
REPLACED FRONT TIE RODS, SWAY BAR LINKS AND PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM 1 YEAR AGO. NOTICED LOTS OF NOISE AND VIBRATION COMING FROM UNDER THE FRONT OF THE CAR. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WAS TOLD IT NEEDED DRIVER SIDE CONTROL ARM AND REAR CONTROL ARMS BUT THE CROSS MEMBER AND SUB FRAME WERE SO RUSTED OUT HE TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STILL BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE EVEN WITH NEW PARTS. THE COST OF REPLACING THE CROSS MEMBER AND SUB FRAME WOULD MORE THAN EXCEED THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE
THE CAR STALLS AND CUTS OFF AFTER FILLING THE TANK ALL THE WAY. IF NOT COMPLETELY FULL CAR WORKS.
I HAVE AN 07 JEEP COMPASS. I HAVE OWNED IT FOR 5 YEARS AND I HAVE A MAJOR SAFTEY ISSUES. GAS LIGHT CAME ON SO I FILLED UP. GOT A FEW YARDS FROM THE PUMP AND IT STALLED. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANYTHING CAME ON. WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT. EVERY TIME I TURN THE CAR ON IT SPUTTERS A BIT THEN RUNS. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE OR TWO OF IDLING IT STALLS. TRIED LETTING IT IDLE AND REVVING THE ENGINE. MY CAR STOPPED IN EVERYWHERE IN ROADS, HIGHWAYS, AND THANKS GOD I DIDN'T GET INTO ANY ACCIDENT. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND IT TURNED OUT THAT MANY JEEP/CHRYSLER OWNERS HAVE THIS ISSUE AND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR JEEP COMPASS 2011/2012 FOR THIS ISSUE BUT OTHER MODELS. WHEN I PUT GAS IN THE CAR THE FIRST 20 MINTUES THE CAR TURNS OFF WHEN IN MOTION ON ANY STREET BUT ONLY IN THOSE 20 MINTUES. AFTER THE 20 MINTUES THE CAR IS FINE AND IT SAYS IT HAS NO ERRORS AND IT DOESN'T TURN OFF.
FRONT CROSS MEMBER RUSTED OUT. ENTIRE FRAME RUSTING MAKING CAR VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE I AM HAVEING FRONT MEMBER REPLACED BUT BECAUSE OF RUST CAR IS REALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT HIWAY SPEEDS.
ALL THE WINDOWS HAVE PROBLEMS WORKING, THEY DO NOT GO UP OR DOWN. HAVE HAD THEM WORKED ON. AT THIS TIME 2 WORK SOMETIMES.

I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL IN REGARDS TO AN IGNITION SWITCH ISSUE SO I WENT TO DIFFERENT DEALERS TO TRY TO GET IT FIXED BUT NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO SEE ME TO FIX THE ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD UNTIL MARCH 2016 THERE WOULD BE MORE PARTS COMING IN AND TO COME BACK DURING THAT TIME.
APPROXIMATELY 9 MONTHS AGO THE HORN ON MY 2007 JEEP COMPASS BEGAN SOUNDING AT RANDOM. IT WAS DISCONNECTED AND IN 2014 IT WAS TAKEN TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP (ATLANTIC AUTO GROUP, NORTHFIELD NJ). I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE HORN PAD AND THEY WOULD ORDER THE PART. A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS TOLD THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND WOULD BE IN AT THE END OF JANUARY. FROM THERE I WAS CONTINUOUSLY TOLD IT WAS ON BACK ORDER UNTIL NOW JUNE 12TH 2015 WHEN I WAS TOLD THERE ARE OVER 30,000 ON BACK ORDER AND ESTIMATED SHIP TIME IN AUGUST 23RD 2015 (AS PER ATLANTIC AUTO). NEEDLESS TO SAY I CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO TOLD ME THEY ARE SWITCHING MANUFACTURERS AND DO NOT HAVE ANY TIMELINE AS TO WHEN THIS PART WILL BE IN. I CURRENTLY STILL DO NOT HAVE A HORN AND HAVE BEEN OFFERED NO HELP IN THE MATTER OTHER THAN LOOKING IN A SALVAGE YARD FOR ANOTHER ONE. I DRIVE AROUND WITH 2 YOUNG CHILDREN IN MY CAR EVERYDAY AND I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT HOW THIS SITUATION IS BEING HANDLED ESPECIALLY SINCE IT SEEMS I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE (30,000 ON BACK ORDER) !!

I BOUGHT MY 2007 JEEP COMPASS BRAND NEW. I NEVER OFF-ROAD AND I TRY TO DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY AVOIDING POT HOLES. I WAS HEARING THIS WEIRD NOISE AND BROUGHT IT IN TO A DEALERSHIP TODAY. THEY TOLD ME I NEED TO REPLACE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM COSTING ME SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS. AFTER SEARCHING ON THE WEB AND SEEING ALL THE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS I AM CONVINCED THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. JEEP NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING THIS IS NOT RIGHT. THIS IS A REPAIR THAT SHOULD NOT BE NEEDED ON SUCH NEW VEHICLES.
