Seat Belts Recalls (1)
SEAT BELTS: REAR/OTHER:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch.
Fix: Passengers are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning October 23, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated June 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 283. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 13, 2025.

Your 2025 Hyundai Palisade has multiple safety recalls. The front and second-row seat belt buckles can be repaired at a dealership, but there's currently no available fix for a third-row seating issue where the vehicle may not meet federal safety standards during a rollover crash, which could increase injury risk. Since you regularly transport children in this vehicle, you may want to contact your dealership about the available repairs and check with Hyundai for updates on when a remedy for the third-row issue becomes available.

Your 2025 Hyundai Palisade has a known seat belt defect that Hyundai has acknowledged but currently has no repair available. You've been told by Hyundai customer service that there is no fix or interim solution at this time, leaving you unable to safely use the vehicle. The seat belt system is critical safety equipment designed to protect you in a crash, making this an urgent concern.

Your Palisade has two unresolved safety issues: the seatbelts may unexpectedly unfasten during driving, and the interior structure may not adequately protect third-row passengers in a rollover accident. Neither issue has an available repair timeline or parts yet. You should contact Hyundai for recall updates and avoid using the third row until the structural issue is addressed.

Your second-row seat belt unexpectedly unbuckled while driving on the highway, even though it had been securely fastened to your daughter's car seat for several weeks prior. This happened without any apparent cause or action on your part. The seat belt latch mechanism may need inspection or replacement to prevent this from happening again.

Your driver's side seat belt latch has failed and won't fasten, making it impossible to secure yourself while driving. This is the second time the latch has needed replacement in just six weeks, and you previously had the same issue with the second-row seat belts recalled. Your car doesn't display any warning when the latch fails, so you won't know there's a problem until you try to buckle up. The repair involves replacing the seat belt latch assembly, which may require ordering the part from Hyundai.

Your 2025 Palisade is under an active seatbelt recall (Hyundai recall 283), but the dealership gave your ordered replacement parts to another customer and now all seatbelt parts are backordered with no estimated arrival date. You've been told you must call the dealership every two weeks to check inventory status, and the service advisor has refused to provide the service manager's contact information despite multiple requests. This means you're continuing to drive with a known seatbelt defect more than 6 weeks after being told repair parts would be available.

Your 2025 Palisade has two unresolved safety recalls affecting seat belt latching and third-row occupant protection, but the dealership has failed to complete repairs despite two service visits over four months. Your seat belt buckles may not latch properly, and there's a defect in third-row safety protection that could increase injury risk in a crash. The dealership incorrectly documented your recall repair visit as routine maintenance, delaying the fixes. Resolving these recalls will require the dealership to replace or repair the faulty seat belt buckle assemblies and address the third-row safety defect.

Your 2025 Palisade's front passenger seatbelt is unlatching while driving at highway speeds, even after you've fastened it correctly. This is a known defect covered by Hyundai recall 25V607, but replacement parts remain on backorder since December. Since your children rely on car seats that attach to this seatbelt, you're unable to safely use the vehicle. Getting the seatbelt assembly replaced will require ordering parts through the dealership and having a technician install the new seatbelt mechanism.

During a rear-end collision on the freeway, your seat belts failed to lock at the shoulder, leaving you and your four children unrestrained and resulting in whiplash injuries for all occupants. The seat belt pretensioners did not engage as designed during the impact. A seat belt system inspection and potential replacement of the pretensioner components may be needed.

Your 2025 Hyundai Palisade is subject to a safety recall affecting the seat belts (Campaign 25V607000), but the replacement parts aren't available yet. Your dealer has the parts on back order and cannot provide a loaner vehicle while you wait. the abs system doesn't work properly on uneven, low speed roads. the brakes will not stop i have almost wrecked on multiple occasions. the seat belt located in the middle row, the middle seat belt gets stuck in the plastic causing the belt to stay loose. the vehicle also will shut its self down into "accessory" mode and put me into park not allowing me to move from traffic. it will either "reboot" or power off fully if i hit the ignition, i never know which it will do until it does it. it will sputter as if it is trying not to die if i am setting in a line or parked with the car on.
The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts). The local dealer was contacted and confirmed the recall status. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The second row captains chairs are able to be buckled when any booster or car seats are in the seat. The seat belt buckle is too far flush into the seat, so when any car seat/booster seat is in the seat, the buckle is inaccessible and blocked and the seat belt is not able to be used. We had to purchase seat belt extenders so the seat belt could be buckled. We spoke to Hyundai corporate and the local service center and they confirmed nothing could be done.
Randomly, the second row seat belts will unbuckle by themselves, and the seat belt warning will randomly go off indicating the seat belt was unbuckled all the while no one was sitting in the seat. At random, while using the adaptive cruise control, the car will brake by itself, when there is no car close enough in front to activate the braking system. A few times, while using the adaptive cruise control, the system speed up for no reason. The only way to get the car to stop speeding up was to disengage the cruise control. Braking did not help
After buckling the front passenger seatbelt and proceeding to drive, the front passenger seat belt disconnected without warning. This is the 5th time this has occurred during driving.
The front passenger side seatbelt disengages while driving- has happened on four occasions. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. There were no warnings or indications that the seatbelt was loose or would disengage.
The seat belt on the driver’s side 2nd row captains chair and the 3rd row middle seat spontaneously unlatched while driving. This occurred 5 times over 2 days, at different speeds and locations. One in a parking lot, twice while exiting the neighborhood, and twice on the freeway.
The passenger side seatbelt will not buckle. There was no warning no signs of failure. The car has 3000 miles on it. Seems like something in the receiver part of the seatbelt is broken.
